she looked like an ethereal angel with that divine smile on her archangelic face
MILLIE IS IN HOPE'S room, both of them had their easels propped up, and they were both painting. But of course, the two girls weren't being quiet. Millie keeps making Hope laugh by saying stupid jokes or simply making funny faces.
From behind them, a group of people slowly and quietly walked in on the sight. From the hallway, they heard some noises and got curious, and opened the door to a surprising sight.
Hope laughed loudly and lightly shoved Millie on the arm, smiling wider than the group of people has ever seen her smile.
The movement from Hope shoving her, caused Millie to notice the people in the doorway. She jumped up and out of her seat quickly, and stood protectively in front of Hope.
The tribrid frowned upon the sudden mood change, but once she turned around and spotted the people, her mood lightened once again. She got off of her stool and laid a calming hand on Millie's shoulder.
Kol raised a brow and retorted, "So, you're not going to hug your favorite uncle?"
Millie relaxed at those words when she realized who they were and moved out of Hope's way to allow her to run toward her uncle to hug him.
Soon enough, Hope was hugging everyone while Millie was watching with a smile on her pretty face.
Pulling back, Hope smiled at her family, and they easily noticed how much lighter Hope seemed. Her smile is brighter and reaches her eyes now.
Hope glanced behind her at Millie and her cheeks gained a slight pink tint to them before she cleared her throat and gestured towards the hubby blonde with her hand. "Guys, this is Millie, my... my friend. Best friend."
Millie's eyes widened and her heart stuttered in her chest, her smile blinding everyone in the room. "Best friends, huh, Mikaelson?" She giggled and then surprised the older Mikaelson's by pulling each and everyone of them into hugs. "It's so lovely to meet you guys finally!"
Hope hid her smile behind her hand as she watched everyone be surprised but easily taking to Millie.
"Well, aren't you a tiny thing," Kol remarked which caused Rebekah to roll her eyes and slap him on the back of the head. "Hey!" He exclaimed, hand rescuing it to rub at his head. "Bloody hell, Bekah!"
Millie giggled, leaning towards Hope, whispering, "I like them."
Hope groaned, "don't say that, you're going to inflate their egos."
Freya grinned as she watched the two girls. "So, Millie, how long have you known our Hope?"
Millie looped her arm with Hope's, leaning into her. "A few weeks at this point. It's been lovely." She leaned forward playfully, "though, at first she wanted nothing to do with me. Quickly, she surrendered to my charms and big smile."
Hope bit her lip as she looked down at the floor, cheeks heating up.
Davina smiled at the blonde, sending Hope a look. She's so happy that her niece has found someone like Millie to confide in, to befriend, to... fall in love.
Cause it's clear as day to all the Mikaelson's that Hope is in love with this little blonde girl that is radiating sunshine.
Kol grinned and pulled the young blonde into a hug. "I think I'm going to like you, munchkin."
Millie pouted. "Name calling isn't nice."
Rebekah snorted, "and Kol isn't nice."
"Hey! That hurt my feelings, dear sister!" Kol gasped and clutched his hand to his chest dramatically, feigning passing out as he let go of Millie and fell to the floor.
Millie giggled and quickly pulled out her phone to take a picture of the scene.
Hope sighed and shook her head at her uncle. "What feelings, uncle Kol?"
Rebekah snorted and reached over to high-five her niece.
Freya shook her head fondly at her family, before approaching Millie. "It's nice to meet a friend of Hope's."
"Honestly thought she had none," Kol remarked as he stood up, grinning at his niece who glared at him. "What? You don't like to socialize."
Millie snorted and went to say something, but was interrupted when Davina said, "can you show us around? We haven't been here for a while."
Hope nodded and escorted her family members out of her room.
Millie fell in step with her, grabbing her hand and entwining their fingers.
ONCE THE GROUP HAD arrived in the main hall of the school, the Mikaelson's were surprised when two girls suddenly ran towards them, eyes wide, and quickly hid behind Hope and Millie.
A girl came up behind the two girls: dark hair, angry brown eyes, fuming. Her eyebrows have been burnt off of her face and her hair was sticking up widely. "Saltzman's! I will get you back for this!"
Kol was laughing so hard, he's clutching his chest and leaning against his wife.
The girl, Alyssa Chang, turned her attention on him, and glared heatedly. "What are you laughing at, asshole?"
Hope glared and stood protectively in front of the twins. Millie was at her side, shoulder to shoulder, lips pursed.
Alyssa's eye twitched at the sight of the oldest Saltzman sibling and Hope Mikaelson. "You two aren't enough to protect them," she spat out, glaring at the Saltzman twins over their shoulders.
Millie stepped forward, eyes glinting dangerously. She doesn't play around with her safety of those she loves. "You better watch yourself, Chang."
Hope smirked, head held high. "Might wake up to your bed on fire if you touch them."
Alyssa eyed them all before she huffed and stormed away.
Millie watched as the witch disappeared around the corner before turning to her sisters, sighing fondly. "You two can't stay out of trouble, huh?"
Lizzie grinned and shook her head, "nope, dear sister."
Rebekah gaped as she realized these were the twins she heard about Caroline giving birth to. And Millie... well, she should've known because she looks almost identical to Caroline from when she first showed up in town. But, there was no recollection of Caroline ever having a third child.
Lizzie smiled before pulling Millie and Hope into a quick hug before grabbing her twins hand, and leaving the area. "Toodles, Mikaelson!" She called over her shoulder before they rounded the corner.
Freya raised her brow at Hope when the two girls finally turned around to face them again. "The twins? I thought you hated their guts? And vice versa?"
Hope licked her lips and glanced at Millie before sighing. "Long story short, we reconciled. A lot of stuff happened, and a lot of stuff was revealed, but we are cool now. I actually consider Lizzie my other best friend." Josie is just a friend, because yes, it's still hard for her to fully wrap her head around all that Josie had done and said to cause chaos over a stupid crush.
Millie smiled, happy to know that her presence helped Lizzie and Hope become friends. Like how they were always meant to be, not enemies like Josie tried to make them out to be.
Davina smiled widely and pulled Hope into a hug. "I'm so happy and proud of you. You have been through so much, but keep coming out on top."
Hope's eyes watered slightly and huffed her aunt tight. "I wish you guys would visit more."
"We would live here if we could," Freya stated as she joined the hug.
Soon, all the Mikaelson's were in a group hug.
Millie stood there, holding her hand to her heart, eyes watery, loving the scene that is happening in front of her.
"Where's Marcel?" Hope asked, wiping her tears as she pulled back from the hug.
Rebekah sighed, looking to the side. "Still in New Orleans doing god knows what."
Hope frowned but nodded. She knows that Rebekah and Marcel tried to make it work out between them, but it was like something kept getting in the way. Eventually, they came to the terms that they're better off as friends and ally's rather than lovers. Thank god, because frankly it was getting confusing on what she should call him. Uncle or brother? Because her father had considered Marcel a son, helped raise him and everything, and then Rebekah fell in love with him. She grew up with stories of Marcel, of a brother who was going through rough times.
Anyways, she felt sad for Rebekah because the blonde did have big feelings for Marcel. But sometimes, love doesn't always prevail.
EVENTUALLY, THE GROUP had wandered over the whole school, the Mikaelson's were introduced to Jed, Kaleb and MG who turned out to be really cool guys and also friends with Millie and Hope.
It's shocking to see the change that was made to Hope just within a few short months since they had last scene her.
Hope was a quiet and broody girl just three months ago, and now she is smiling and laughing, and making jokes. Making friends. Three months ago, Hope talked to no one, barely even her own family. And now, she's got a handful of great friends, and a girl who she's clearly in love with.
Once they saw the chance, Freya, Rebekah, and Davina got Home alone just to ask her about Millie and tease her.
"What is Millie? A witch?" Rebekah couldn't but ask, glancing over at the small blonde who was talking to Kol and Jed.
Davina and Freya shook their heads. "No, she feels dead."
"A vampire?" Rebekah guessed.
Hope shook her head, fiddling with her fingers and licking her lips. "No. She's actually... a zombie."
Their eyes widened in surprise.
"A... what?"
Hope couldn't help but chuckle. "Long story short, zombies are a thing now. She has to eat brains every few days or she goes rapid basically."
Freya hummed and nodded.
Rebekah waved the new information away, beginning to smirk. "You guys are perfect for one another." Her smirk widened as Hope blushed. "Oh come on, two immortal beings? You're meant to be."
Hope's blush deepened. "Stop, please." She glanced quickly at Millie just to see her laughing loudly at something Kol said.
Davina smiled and ran a hand through Hope's hair. "We can see the way you stare at her, Hope. Your eyes are sparkling."
Freya grinned, "and I bet if we looked through all your sketches and paintings, you have hundreds of her." If the look on Hope's face was anything to go by, she's correct. "Like father, like daughter."
Hope bit her lip and looked down at the floor, cheeks so red. "Aunties..." she sighed wistfully, sparing a glance at Millie. "I love her, but I'm so scared."
Freya sighed softly and held her nieces hand. "Love is nothing to fear, little one. Okay? It's something you feel. It's a beautiful thing, love is."
"And us Mikaelson's have a tendency to love with all our heart," Rebekah continued. "She's one lucky girl."
Hope smiled as she stared longingly at Millie who is leaning against Jed, laughing so hard she's clutching her stomach. Her smile so bright and welcoming.
It was inevitable for her to fall in love with someone so full of intense happiness and sunshine.
Now... she just needs to tell Millie how she feels, no matter if she gets rejected or not.
