003. late nights, drama, and bottoms up

[season 11 episode 3]

TW: race, denial, presidential races

"Are you serious with me right now?" Sutton asked as she was aggravated with Crystal.

"Are you that girl?" She repeated.  "I don't see color."

"I really don't see color," Sutton told her getting choked up and emotional.  "I don't see race.  I don't do it.  The word racist, to me, is like a virus.  Worse than Covid and I can't," she said more emotional.  "To even get into this upsets me."

"That's how I feel too," Kyle agreed with her friend.  "I literally have laid in bed at night thinking about my conversation with Garcelle."

"You were talking to Garcelle as a person.  Not as a race," Sutton said in agreement.  "Y'all this is for real."

"So I can see both sides of it," Hailey commented.  "I can see Kyle and Sutton's side but I can also see Crystal and Garcelle's side.  I have a friend who is black and she's a very famous model and actress.  When we were younger we decided to go out to this fancy restaurant and she was treated with such terrible service.  The waiter was making racial slurs to her and I was shocked because I knew he knew who she was.  So I called for the manager and he was fired from his job and they paid for our meal.  That was the first time I was shown that prejudice is still out there and I'll never forget that day and the look on my friends face that showed hurt.  It wasn't until we got in the cab that she broke down crying.  She's a strong person."

Hailey didn't realize that after she told the story about her dear friend, Chantel Jeffries, that people would look up the incident and Chantel's name came up right away in the Google searches.  Chantel was even more famous than Hailey, her husband, and probably even more than Justin Bieber.  Chantel had spoken about this incident in numerous interviews so it wasn't like it was a secret.  People knew that Chantel and Hailey were best friends.  That wasn't the surprising part of the story.  What did surprise them though was that it was actually Hailey who was with Chantel that night.

"I'm upset about this and emotional," Sutton said as she started getting teary eyed.  "Like give me a fucking break man and let's not do it!"

"Race exists," Crystal told her.  "I'm proud of my race."

"Maybe I'm naive," Sutton says to her.

"Think of race as eye color and hair," Crystal said to her trying to make it simple for her.

"I'm not thinking about race."

"But I'm saying deeper is do you want to know about my culture?  Do you want to know about my ancestry?" Crystal asked her.

"Of course I do!" Sutton told her.

"That's what color is," Crystal explains to her.

"When she says, 'I don't see color,' it means, 'I see us all equally,' is what she means," Kyle explained to Crystal so that she would see that both Sutton and Kyle didn't mean any harm with their comments.

"Let me tell you something - that line is not the same," Crystal disagrees.  "We're not equal."

"See this is like with Garcelle," Kyle points out.  "She's saying that it's not equal.  That's not a good way to word it.  Penny for your thoughts?" Kyle asked Crystal.

Hailey rested the palm of her hand against her face as she listened to both Crystal and Sutton's side.

"I think we can just agree to disagree I guess," Crystal said to the group.

"What are we disagreeing on though?" Sutton asked confused.

"I think you guys are kind of not seeing eye to eye honestly.  Even though you both have good intentions," Kyle told Sutton.

"The fact that you think everyone is equal and Crystal is saying that we're not," Hailey told Sutton.

"I think it's late."

"Why don't we all go to bed?" Kyle asked the three women.

"I agree," Hailey nodded her head and they all went to their separate rooms.

Hailey was wearing her under eye patches when she decided to call her sister since she was watching the kids while she was on the girls trip.

"Hey," Melissa smiled big at her sister through the FaceTime screen.  "How's it going so far?"

"It's going good.  Last night there was some difficult conversations that were being said but so far its good.  How are the kids?"

"They're having so much fun," Melissa told her and flipped the screen so that it showed the kids at the counter eating their breakfast which looked like cereal.  "They're eating right now.  Hey kids, want to tell mommy what movie you watched yesterday?"

"We watched Iron Man," Charlotte yelled.

"You did?" Hailey gasped and Charlotte nodded her head enthusiastically.

Iron Man was Charlotte's favorite whereas Captain America was Mason's favorite.  It hurt Chris at first to know his character wasn't Charlotte's favorite but he eventually was okay with it.  Besides, Chris didn't normally watch his movies after he filmed them, but he would watch them with his kids if it made them happy.

"Yeah," Mason smiled.  "It was sooo good."

"You know I like Iron Man too," Hailey agreed with her son.

"But you're married to Captain America," Mason pointed out as the camera men captured this conversation.

"You know, Mase, that is true.  But mommy's allowed to have friends.  Right?"

"I guess," Mason let out a huff of disappointment as Melissa was the only one who was on his side about Captain America.  Hailey let out a chuckle as Nate came into the screen.

"Hi baby boy.  Are you enjoying time with Aunty Mel?"

"Nooo," he let out a big giggle that warmed Hailey's heart.  Hailey knew he was just saying the word no just to say it.  It seemed to be his favorite word lately as he would still go through the terrible two's.  Even though Hailey and Chris thought he was done with that stage pretty early when he turned two.  Turned out they were wrong.

"No?" Melissa faked being hurt by her nephew and she tickled him as he shrieked and the older kids joined in.

"Mommy loves you all and give Aurora a kiss for me, okay?" Hailey tells them.  "Love you," she blows them all kisses and hangs up her phone.

She had the latest iPhone and just recently, Chris had traded his iPhone 6 in for it as well after much discussion talks from Hailey.  It wasn't until Chris' phone died that he agreed with his wife and they made the trip to the AT&T store.  She decided to take a few extra minutes and call her husband who was busy filming The Gray Man.

"Hi bubs," he greeted his wife with a big smile and it brought a smile to Hailey's face as well.

"Morning handsome.  Are you getting your makeup done?" She asked as she noticed the Real Techniques logo on the makeup brush.

"Yeah," he let out a loud laugh as he sat in the makeup trailer and the makeup artist, whose name was Susan, was doing his makeup.

"Hi Susan," Hailey waved at the Asian woman who was putting on his makeup with a mask on and she came into view as she waved at Chris' wife.

"Hi!  It's so good to see you again!"

"You too," she smiled at the woman.  "When are you coming to visit?" She asked.

"Hopefully soon.  I might be able to pull the kids out of school and surprise them with the trip."

"Really?" Chris' eyes lit up as his wife said that.  He loved nothing more than his family.  Sure, he loved his job too but nothing compared to the kind of love he had for his children.

"Yeah," she nodded her head with a smile on her face.  "I know the kids miss you.  You know I spoke with them this morning and can you guess which Marvel movie they watched last night?"

"Captain America?" He teased knowing he wasn't right.

"Nope," she laughed and shook her head.  "Iron Man."

"Those little shits."

"Chris!" She threw her head back laughing and so did Chris and Susan.

"What?!  They're traitors!  They like RDJ more."

"Babe, you're talking to someone who loves Iron Man too," she teased him more.

"I swear Susan, it's like my wife likes to wound me," Chris told his makeup artist as he grabbed his left side of the chest and let out a loud laugh.

*

"Hey guys," Hailey greeted everyone as she walked into dining room area with her eye patches off now and she now had on her skincare products that gave her glowy, dewy skin.

"Hey," they all greeted her.

"How did everyone sleep last night?" Kyle asked, hoping everyone slept good as the chef was making their breakfast.

"Horrible," Erika told her.

"Great," Sutton said.

"I honestly don't remember the last time I slept in," Hailey joked.

She was normally up at five in the morning as she was making sure the kids and Chris were fed, taking the dogs (along with the kids) out on a walk every morning, and then getting them to school.  It was a lot.

"Girl, I'm telling you, these girl trips will become your new best friend with sleep," Erika joked with Hailey.

"Then please count me in for more," she said seriously as they laughed.

"I couldn't find my sleep mask.  So you know what I slept with over my eyes?" Garcelle asked the group of women.

"A pillow?" Erika asked.

"A towel?" Lisa guessed.

"No, a regular mask," she told them and they all busted out laughing.

"That's great," Hailey laughed.

"I put it on my ears and moved it up."

"I wish I was that smart," Erika complimented Garcelle.  "Does it work?"

"Yeah," Garcelle laughed.

"Shit," Erika commented.

"That's hilarious," Lisa said as she found humor in it.

"I love it," Hailey said as she still loved the idea of it.

"You have to have total darkness?" Kyle asked Garcelle.

"Yeah."

"Kathy sleeps with that too," Kyle told them.

"I couldn't do that," Hailey told them.  "I feel like it would freak me out to have something covering my eyes."

"Kathy came into my room last night with her fan and like eight pillows," Sutton told the group.

"No!" Hailey commented as she thought this was great.

"Why did she come in with her fan and eight pillows?  Was she going to sleep with you?" Lisa asked.

"What I want to know is how the hell did she carry eight pillows?" Hailey asked as the women laughed.  "I can only carry three."

"She got in my bed and I was like no," Kyle told the group who listened to them.  "Then I'm hearing chips rattling, crumbling.  She had a red bull in her hand."

"No!" Garcelle yelled out.

"She does know that has a bunch of caffeine, right?" Hailey joked.

"Newspaper," Kyle continued on.

"Newspaper?" Garcelle questioned and Hailey shook her head.

"Six newspapers!"

"She came into my room wanting a spa day," Hailey told the group.

"What?" Erika yelled.

"She brought in all her skincare products and everything.  This was at three in the morning too."

"Did you have the spa day?" Erika asked as she leaned into Hailey to ask the question and the women laughed.  "What?  I think we all want to know!  I'm asking for a friend," she joked.

"I gave in after two attempts to have her leave failed," Hailey sighed and the women all laughed and clapped and Crystal came in.

"Good morning," she greeted everyone and they all waved at her.  Everyone except Sutton.

"Morning ladies," Dorit greeted the women.

"Good morning," Lisa greeted her friend back.

"Yay, food!" Erika yelled out in joy.  "I don't know what you girls are waiting on but it's hot and I'm eating it."

"Girl you and me both," Hailey agreed and got up as well.  "I'm starving."

"Oh I'm so happy right now," Crystal said as the three of them got what they wanted to eat and then they went to sit back down after they got their food.

"Rinna what is the plan today?" Kyle asked.

"Were going to do that bike ride on the rail road," Lisa told the girls.

"Am I going to fall with my nose?" Kyle joked.

"I would probably wear a football helmet.  You know for extra precaution," Hailey joked.

"A football helmet?" Garcelle let out a loud laughed.

"It's probably similar to what we did in Santa Barbara with those bikes," Dorit explained.

"But maybe on a track?" Lisa guessed.

"That was hard," Sutton said as she remembered that memory and not really liking it that much.

Hailey was already going back for seconds as she didn't eat anything after they had their dinner.

"I would be perfectly happy sitting here," Garcelle said quietly.  "Watching tv."

"What are you watching right now?" Crystal and Hailey asked.

"I would be watching something on CNN because we're so close," she told them.

"Guys, what's going to happen with this election?" Kyle asked.

"Biden and Harris are going to win and that's going to be the end of it," Erika explains.

"Yes!" Garcelle and Hailey agree.

"By a landslide," Lisa chimes in.  "You know, it's funny, I did the Apprentice twice."

"Is he imposing on that show or what?" Sutton asked.

"No," Lisa shakes her head.  "What I can say is - he was really professional.  Like he was never horrible to me.  He never did anything like I see now."

"A lot of people say that," Erika comments.

"He's refused to meet up with my husband.  Twice," Hailey chimes in.

"Really?" Lisa asks, shocked and Hailey nods her head.

"It's true.  But we also trash talk about him on Twitter too so maybe that's why?" Hailey said as though it was a question and the women laughed.

"The person I am seeing now - I extremely dislike.  And he has changed.  I think it's all gotten to him."

"Who would have thought we would have a reality tv star as the President?" Hailey asked the group.  "Hopefully that changes!"

"Should we go wake up Princess?" Garcelle asked in reference to Kathy as she was the only one not up yet.

"Kathyyyy," Kyle yelled for her sister.  "I'm going to see if she's awake."

"Well, I'm going to go change and get ready for our outing," Hailey tells the group and puts her dishes away into the dishwasher.  Hailey had changed into her Givenchy Logo Jacquard Cashmere Sweater that she loved so much and was wearing a white v-neck shirt underneath along with her jeans.  She had her hair in a high top knot bun that was sleeked back so that no fly away hairs would get in the way.  Her makeup was simple and really only wore her favorite BB cream foundation that was from Bare Minerals, had her eyebrows filled in, eyeliner and mascara and was done.  For shoes she wore her favorite tennis shoes by Nike.

*

"Hi," Crystal greeted Sutton as she knocked on her door.  "How are you?"

"I'm good.  I just wanted to talk for a second."

"Do you want to go outside?" Crystal offered.

"Okay," Sutton agreed.

"It's so pretty out," Crystal commented at the beautiful weather.

"You've got a good view," Sutton pointed out.

"Super nice," Crystal agreed as they took their seats.

"I just wanted to talk before the rush of the day," Sutton explains to her.

"I know last night was a lot."

"Well, I don't know quite why I reacted.  I just didn't want you to think I'm not sensitive to another race or another culture."

"I believe that you see everyone equally," Crystal told her as she leaned forward in her chair.  "I do."

"Yeah, of course."

"For me, what really set me off was when you said, 'are you the girl that says I don't see color?'  That's insulting."

"But people say that to me all the time like, 'oh we're all friends, I don't see color.'"

"But saying like, 'your that girl that doesn't says that,' it wasn't very nice," Sutton disagrees with her.  "That's what really set me off.  That's insulting."

"When someone says they don't see color it's confusing," Crystal explains to Sutton as she tries to get her to see her side.  "Because you look at a box of crayons and you see color.  I have friends who say, 'I don't see you as Asian.  You're just my friend.  And I'm like, 'I see you as white. I see you as black.  I know I'm Asian."

"I know you're Asian," Crystal agreed with her.

"Yeah.  But people say that to me all the time like, 'oh were all friends.  I don't see color.'"

"But saying it like, 'your that girl that says that,' it wasn't very nice," Sutton tells her as she doesn't back down.

"I'm sorry," Crystal apologizes.  "You know what-"

"It just struck a nerve with me," Sutton explained.

"I get it.  But I have been on the other side of racism and attacked.  People see color?  That comment actually holds people back.  Society."

"If I offended you or made you feel angry at me for crying, I don't know, I didn't mean to do that. We all have our own perspective in life and when I moved to New York, I was twenty-five years old.  I literally was in an elevator with someone and they heard my accent and this man said to me, 'oh so your from the South?  Are you a racist?'  I got a lot of that living there."

"So you're on guard about it," Crystal commented as she saw where Sutton was coming from and understood her a little bit better.  "It's a big topic.  You know?  And I so appreciate this conversation."

"Yeah," Sutton agreed.  "We're cool.  Well good."

"Should we go?" Crystal asked.

"Yeah!  Here we can hug it out and I'm not a hugger," she told Crystal and she laughed.

"I am," she told the blonde as she hugged her.

*

Hailey was really enjoying getting to know the women in the group, some more than others, but overall its been a nice time.  She realized how much she needed this trip as she hadn't taken a girls trip in such a long time.  Hailey packed her necessities in her fanny pack and brought it with her as she always made sure to travel with her favorite lip balm and a mini size of her favorite spray from Caudalie and obviously her driver's license and credit cards.

"Okay guys, are we ready?" Lisa asked the group.

"I'm coming with you Crystal Gayle," Garcelle yelled out to her.

"I was actually named after her," Crystal told her.

"WHAT?!" Garcelle shrieks.

"I'm going to ride with you guys," Hailey told Crystal, Garcelle, and Sutton.

"You sure?" Kyle asked Hailey as she thought she would ride with them.

"Yeah, it's all good," she smiled at her.

"Okay," Kyle gave in.

Hailey could tell that Sutton and Crystal had made up and for that she was thankful.  She could just tell that Sutton wasn't coming from a place of any harm or anything and she hoped that Crystal could see that too.  She could see where Crystal was coming from though as everyone experienced race differently and she was sure that Crystal was different than Garcelle and all of them.

"I might pull a Kathy tomorrow morning.  And do not come and wake me," Garcelle jokes but is also somewhat serious.

"She's like such a prankster," Crystal tells the girls.

"She really is," Hailey chuckled at all the pranks she's pulled.  "There was one night, this was before I married my husband, and I was staying at her home.  We were all eating lobster that night and I guess she kept the shell of one of them because the next thing I know I'm waking up to it on my pillow," she tells them and they all laugh in disbelief.  "Ever since then I haven't eaten lobster."

"So she basically scarred you for life?" Garcelle laughed.

"Basically!"

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"Is that really a true story?" The producer asked with a laugh.

"Very true.  Like Crystal said - she loves to prank!"

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"She loves to prank," Crystal said as she tried to stop laughing, but couldn't.  "If you've been pranked by Kathy Hilton you know you're doing good."

"Yeah, that's her way of saying, 'your a cool chick and I think we're going to be best friends,'" Hailey told them.

"So we should all be expecting a lobster shell on our pillows at some point?" Sutton asked.

"I would sleep with one eye open," Hailey joked.  "You never know when she's going to strike."

Hailey knew that she made the right decision by coming with them instead of with Kyle's group of friends.

"How do you guys think Hailey is in the van?" Dorit asked Kyle.

"I think she's okay.  She can handle herself which is one of the things I really appreciate about her," Kyle told her.

"She seems like a cool chick," Erika agreed.

"I think you guys seem like you get along," Kyle pointed out about Hailey and Erika.

"Well, at least she's not boring," Erika joked and they all laughed.

*

They finally arrived and got out of the vans as they went up to the women who would be giving them instructions on what they were doing today.

"I'm Elaine and welcome to the Railways.  We're really happy to have you all here," the woman told the group of ladies.  "So have any of you ridden?"

"No," Sutton answered.  "So how fitness-y is this?" Hailey let out an unattractive snort at her choice of words and Kyle laughed at her best friend.

"How fit do you need to be?" Elaine asked.

"Yeah," Sutton said.

"Just before you all arrived we had a group of twenty-four senior citizens," Elaine explained to the blonde.

"Oh then we got this," Garcelle agreed.

"One person will be the operator," Elaine explains to the group.  "Meaning that they will have the break and the throttle."

"Oh damn," Garcelle starts to freak out a bit and Hailey lets out a laugh.

"Okay so I want to go in the fast car," Dorit tells the group and half of the group agrees with her.

"I want a slow car," Kyle tells them.

"I do too.  I'll go with Kyle," Hailey tells them.

"I want a tortious car," Garcelle agrees.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"I'm not looking forward to this at all," Sutton tells the camera.  "I'm a dancer so I'm coordinated but as a dancer you are in control.  You're not on a bike when your not in control."

C O N F E S S I O N A L

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"I'm actually looking forward to this," Hailey told the camera as the producer sat behind the camera.  "I just hope I'm not with a bunch a slow pokes," she joked as she laughed.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"I'll go in the back with Garcelle," Hailey tells them.

"This is scary for me," Sutton tells them and Hailey gives a deadpan look.

"Do you see Hailey's face right now?" Dorit snickers to Erika who turns back and laughs.

"I think she's wishing she was with us right about now," Erika tells Dorit.

"Wait, where's the break?" Kyle asks as both she and Sutton start freaking out.

"Holy shit, why didn't I go in the other cart?" Hailey asks Garcelle.

"Oh my God, we haven't even taken off and it's a disaster," Garcelle yells.

"I don't like this at all," Sutton shakes her head.

"The break is right there," Hailey exclaims, losing her patience with these two.

"I don't like this at all," Erika mocks Sutton and Hailey laughs.

"We don't have these things down south," Sutton says.

"Well honey, you aren't in the south anymore," Hailey tells the blonde woman.

"Were going to go real slow, right?" Sutton asked freaking out again.

"Yeah, we're going to go real slow," Garcelle tells her.

"How slow?" Hailey questions.  "Like snail slow or driving the speed limit slow?  I'm asking for a friend so that you know in case I need to go in the other car..."

Kyle lets out an unattractive snort.

"A little bit below the speed limit," Kyle tells her.

"Let's go guys," Dorit yells and they take off.

"I don't like this, I don't like this, I don't like this," Sutton keeps on yelling.

"I don't wike this," she says as she copies the saying that her nephew, Miles, used to say but doesn't so much anymore since he's grown up.  She couldn't believe that he was ten years old now!

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"I'm a very outdoorsy type of person," Hailey explains to the camera.  "Chris and I like to spend as much time outdoors as possible.  We like to go on hikes, bike rides, and of course we love the rides at Disneyland and DisneyWorld with our kids."

"What's your favorite ride at the the Disney parks?" The producers asked.

"Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion.  Hands down," she tells him.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"Please, please, put the break on," Sutton asks Kyle.

"We're not even going that fast," Hailey complains as they still peddle.

"They can't run into us, can they?" Lisa asks the girls in her car.

"They won't run into us no matter how hard they try," Crystal tells her.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"I am told I am hyper-competitive.  I grew up playing sports.  Volleyball, skiing and I drive really fast so of course I'm going to be in the fast car," Crystal tells the camera.

"Thank God I'm not in the other car," she laughs slightly.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"We need to catch up!" Kyle tells the group.

"We do not need to catch up," Sutton contradicts her and Hailey rolls her eyes slightly.  "That is what we said!  We are in the slow one."

"I know but we can't even see them," Kyle tells her.

"We need to go faster!" Hailey tells them.

"Who are you waving to?" Kyle asks Sutton.

"It's how I get rid of my anxiety," Sutton tells her and Hailey could understand anxiety since her husband had it for a long time.  It wasn't until recently that he was able to calm himself down without needing her help.

"Yay," Kyle comments as they see the finish line.

"Finally," Hailey comments and their car makes the stop.

"Hope you all have a wonderful day," a worker tells them.

"Thank you," Hailey tells him with a smile as they all leave.  "That was fun."

"It was," Garcelle agrees.

"Bye guys, see you there!" Lisa tells them.

Garcelle decides to take a nap and rests her head in Hailey's lap.

"Yeah girl," Crystal nods her head with a smile as she sees what Garcelle's doing.

Hailey brought out her snacks that she had with them and hands them to Crystal and Sutton as they thank her.  She began to eat her Sour patch watermelon candy.

"Were your parents born in Augusta?" Crystal asked Sutton.

"No, my dad was born in Texas and my mother was born in Charleston," she tells them.  "She's a piece of work, let me tell you."

"Is she?  I used to think that about my mom.  After my dad passed away, she's just calmed down so much."

"When did your dad pass away?" Sutton asked her.

"It was three and a half years ago," Crystal tells them.

"I'm so sorry," Hailey tells her and Crystal gives her a small smile.

"Thanks."

"See, it took my mom a long time.  My dad committed suicide," Sutton explained.

"Oh I'm sorry," Crystal and Hailey said at the same time.

Hailey couldn't imagine what it was like to lose anyone to suicide and she definitely understood Sutton a little bit better now.

"And my mom's a psychotherapist so you know, it's a little bit of a tricky situation there."

"That's like serious trauma," Crystal comments.

"That's definitely rough," Hailey comments as well.

"What about your parents?" Crystal asked Hailey.

"My dad was born in Ohio and my mom was born in Georgia actually," Hailey tells them.

"Oh wow, she's from Georgia too?" Sutton asked.

"Yeah," Hailey told her with a smile.  "They actually met each other when they moved to Los Angeles and the rest is history..."

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"What did you think of Sutton and Crystal kind of bonding over their fathers death's in the van?" The producer asked.

"They're both tragedies, you know?  Anytime you lose a parent it has to be hard so I can only imagine what they are both still going through.  I would much rather have them bonding than arguing with each other.  That's for sure," Hailey gave a soft smile.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

Just then Garcelle started to wake up and lifted her head from Hailey's lap.

"Hi," Garcelle greeted everyone.

"Welcome back," Hailey joked.

"I fell asleep," Garcelle said to everyone.  "It's so nice to be able to do that."

"Good," Crystal told her and their van finally came to a stop as they all went out and back into the home.

"Hello?" Kyle called out to her sister.

"Where's Kathy?" Both Crystal and Hailey asked at the same time as they walked down to her room and hugged her when they found her.

"I put in some drops because I thought they were eye drops and I put ear drops in my eyes," Kathy told them.

"Oh shit," Hailey said and Crystal let out a gasp.  "Are you okay?"

"Are you serious?" Crystal asked her.

"Yeah, I'm fine," Kathy told them.

"Did you flush it out?" Crystal asked her.

"I tried to put a little water in my eyes."

"What are you doing?" Kyle asked as she slightly laughed.

"Kyle's embarrassed by the way I look right now," Kathy told the women as she tried to escape into her room and they all laughed.

Kyle went into her room to help her sister and Hailey went outside with Lisa, Sutton and Garcelle.  She felt like she hadn't really gotten to know Lisa yet but she really liked Garcelle so far and Sutton.

"My feet hurt," Lisa complained.  "I'm taking these shoes off," she told the girls as she took them off.

"What time is dinner?" Garcelle asked.

"I think it's at six-thirty so we don't have a whole lot of time."

"I swear to the good Lord if it's another hour drive -" Sutton began but Lisa cut her off.

"It's not," Lisa promised her.

"You are like a princess with a pea under your mattress," Garcelle told Sutton.

"Yep," Lisa agreed.

"The ride wasn't really bad at all," Hailey agreed with the two women.

"I'm easy going believe it or not," Erika chimed in and Hailey almost forgot that she was there because she was so quiet.

"I am too," Hailey agreed with her.

"You both are?" Lisa questioned.

"For me having four kids you really have to be easy going," Hailey explained.  "Things change all the time with my schedule so I try to keep an open mind."

All Erika said was, "yep," and they laughed.

"You know why I think you probably are is because you don't give a fuck," Garcelle told her.

"I'm really content to let people be who they are," Erika tells her.  "Because I like to be myself.  That's one of the things I love about Tom the most is that he lets me be myself."

"Tom's your husband?" Hailey asked trying to get to know the blonde singer better.

"Yeah," Erika tells her.  "He's a lawyer.  Tom Girardi."

"Nice," Hailey nods her head.  "I really like that you let people be who they want to be.  I respect that."

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"What are your thoughts so far on the women?" The producer asked.

"For the most part they have all been very welcome.  Some not so much."

"Are you talking about Lisa Rinna?" He asks.

"Can I plead the fifth?" She asks laughing.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"Well you know, otherwise people feel like they have to hide who they are and that is not okay with me."

Just then Kyle walked outside.

"You guys are a vision just sitting out here," Kyle tells them.

"Oh thank you," Erika tells her and Hailey gives a closed lip smile as Kyle comes over to Sutton.

"It's so gorgeous, I mean really," Lisa comments.

"It really is," Hailey agrees and gets her phone out to take a picture of the view and sends it to Chris.

"I can't get over these slippers," Kyle says to Sutton as she checks them out and Hailey now looks at them too.  "Can you tell me where you get these?  I want to get these for my kids for Christmas Eve."

"Who are they?  Who made them?" Erika asked.

"I don't know," Sutton tried to not have the brand come out since she knew the women would make fun of her but Kyle didn't let it go and she looked at the label on her slipper.

"Vetements," Kyle tried sounding off the word and Lisa and Hailey corrected her on how to pronounce it.

"They're expensive," Hailey and Lisa said at the same time.

"It's something that should not be discussed on how much these slippers cost," Sutton told them as she put her slipper back on.

"Yeah, I'd like to know how much they are," Garcelle commented.

"Me too," Hailey agreed.

"Holy shit!" Kyle exclaimed as she looked it up and Hailey and Garcelle looked over her shoulder.  Hailey's eyes widened at the price tag of the slippers.

"No way.  They're a couple grand," Garcelle said in shock.

"Grand?!  Are they a grand?!" Lisa asked.

"Two thousand dollars," Kyle told them.

"Girl, you spent two thousand dollars on a pair of slippers?" Hailey asked Sutton as she shook her head.

"Yes, I did," Sutton stuck to it.  "You don't?"

"No!" Hailey let out a laugh.  "The most expensive pair I've ever bought was one-hundred dollars!"

"Two thousand dollars?!" Garcelle yelled, shocked.

"Don't judge," Sutton told the women as they laughed.

"Oh I'm definitely judging," Hailey laughed and Crystal came out right then.

"I donate things that look like that," Crystal tells Kyle and Hailey.

"It looks like Big Foot," Hailey snickered and Kyle did too.

"Wait Sutton - " Kyle begins to tell Sutton.

"No!" Crystal tries to stop her.  "Don't say anything.  She'll cry, she'll cry," she tells Kyle and Kyle continues to laugh.

"Okay guys I'm going to go lay down for a little bit.  I'll see you for dinner," Dorit tells them.

"Bye everybody," Lisa tells them as Erika also leaves.

"Is my hair on fire?" Kyle jokes to the group of them that is still there.

"No," Garcelle tells her.

"The color looks really pretty," Sutton and Hailey tell her.

"It looks so beautiful in the sunlight," Kathy tells her sister.

"Oh, does it look lighter now?" Kyle asked.

"But you seem like you should be a brunette," Garcelle tells her.

"I agree," Hailey tells her.  "I can't imagine you being as blonde as Kim, Kathy or Paris."

"Well, isn't it funny how genetics work?  I mean like Paris and I and Sophia all have my mom's exact same face and bone structure."

"Really?" Garcelle asks her.

"If you put a dark wig on Paris we look a lot alike."

"I can totally picture that too," Hailey tells her.

"I think I told you Paris came on the Reel and when she sort of is using her real voice now.  So when she was like so when I was like, 'hey Paris,' she was like, 'hi,'" she said mimicking Paris' deeper voice.  "I was like who is that?"

"I think she's more confident now," Kathy tells her.  "I think she feels really at peace."

"I agree.  Like the Paris you see now is not the same Paris we used to know back then," Hailey agrees as she loves Paris like she's her own niece.

"She used to drive me nuts," Garcelle admits and this catches them off guard and Hailey tenses up a bit.  "I used to see her at fashion shows and parties and she was always on her phone.  And I always felt, 'why are you here?'" She said rolling her eyes.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"Really?" Hailey asks giving the camera a deadpan look.  "Your going to say that to Paris' mom right in front her?"

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"You know why she would do that?" Kathy asked Garcelle, sticking up for her daughter.

"Why?" Garcelle asks.

"She doesn't want to be rude," Kathy tells her.

"She was just so uncomfortable and that was her prop to protect herself because she's so shy," Kyle finishes.

"Really?" Garcelle asks shocked.  "I'm glad I just said this because I would have never known."

"That's why you really never know what someone is going through," Hailey told her and they all agreed.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"I'm grateful Garcelle and I patched things up before we came on this trip because otherwise I may be a little bit annoyed that she's judging someone else in my family," Kyle tells the camera.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"It's just like with my husband Chris," Hailey tells them.  "People have judged him all the time when he goes to Comic Con or any other event where there's a big group of people.  He actually had really bad anxiety and people used to think he was being rude by him delaying him coming out to meet everyone.  What people didn't realize was that I was with him in the back room trying to help him calm down."

"Yes," Kyle agrees with her.  "It's just like that.  You don't judge someone until you walk in their shoes."

"It's really true," Kathy agrees.

"Until you walk in their slippers," Sutton corrects her and Hailey lets out a loud laugh.

"I love that," Hailey smiles.

"Two thousand dollar slippers," Garcelle and Kyle say at the same time and let out laughs.

Hailey was getting ready for tonight's dinner and she decided to wear a blouse she bought from Neiman Marcus.  It was by the brand Ramy Brook and it was a beautiful sorinda lace mock-neck blouse in the color black.  She paired it with her favorite brand of jeans.  She took her curlers out of her hair that helped give her hair that salon blow out effect.  Her makeup was darker in the night time and it went along with her dark purple nail polish that almost looked black.  Hailey paired the look with a pair of her black booties.

"Babe you look hot," Chris grinned at his wife as they were FaceTiming and she just got done showing him her outfit in the floor length mirror.  His gold chain necklace dangling on his neck.

"Thanks bubba," she smiled at him as she finished spraying on her Flowerbomb perfume and was now sitting on her bed.  "What are you doing tonight?  Anything?"

"Yeah," he nods his head.  "I was going to meet up with my family while I'm here."

"Aww," Hailey pouts.  "Without me?"

"I know," he lets out a laugh.  "Sorry Hails.  I know how much you love them too.  I'll tell them you said hi."

"You better.  I have to go now.  I love you," Hailey tells her husband.

"I love you too," he waves at her and gives her soft smile before hanging up.

"Please don't tell me I'm the first one out here," Garcelle complains.  "Why is everyone always late?"

"Your not," Hailey tells her as she comes up right behind her.  "I'm here too."

"Girl you look hot!" Garcelle compliments the socialite.

"Thank you," Hailey says flattered.  "You look gorgeous!"

"Thank you," Garcelle smiles.

"We're on time," Lisa smiles at Garcelle.  "We are on time because we are used to it."

"Yes," Garcelle and Hailey say at the same time.

"I hate being late to anything but especially anything that has to do with my kids," Hailey tells them.

"I can relate to that," Lisa tells her and Garcelle agrees.

Lisa knew that she needed to get to know Hailey better before judging her so she was determined to do that tonight.

"The weather is so pretty, isn't it?" Lisa asked them as she tried to make small talk.

"It's so nice," Hailey comments.

"It's really just so good," Garcelle adds.

"That's quite a beam," Lisa comments as she looks up at the ceiling.  "I never noticed that."

"That's quite a beam."

"You have two daughters, right?" Hailey asks Lisa.

"I do," Lisa nods her head.  "Amelia and Delilah."

"I've seen them walk before and they are gorgeous," Hailey tells Lisa.  "I'm with IMG modeling agency and you should have them get in touch with Kennedy.  She's in charge of finding models for the next Dior fashion show and I think your girls would be great assets to them."

"Oh wow," Lisa exclaims and Garcelle gives them a look that she approves.  "Thank you so much for thinking of them.  What's her number?"

Hailey scrolled through her phone and found Kennedy's number and gave it to Lisa.

"Of course," Hailey smiles at her.  "Definitely give Kennedy a call."

"I will definitely," Lisa nods her head as she would do anything for her daughters.  "Hi," Lisa greets Kyle as she comes up.

"Hi gorgeous," Hailey greets her best friend.

"Hello," Garcelle greets Kyle.

"You look gorgeous!" Lisa exclaims.

Just then the rest of the girls come up too and they all complimented each other.

"Okay let's go gang," Lisa tells the group and they follow each other out the house and into the vans.

*

They made it to The Bistro Edgewood restaurant that was inside a hotel and Hailey had to admit that she was starving.  They all wore their masks going into the restaurant since it was still required.

"This is pretty," Erika commented.

"So pretty," Hailey agreed.

"Ladies this is your table here," the woman tells the group.

"How should we do this?" Kyle asked.  "Just sit wherever?"

"There's another table here," the woman explains as Hailey sits next to Kyle.

"Isn't this so exciting, guys?  We're inside a restaurant," Lisa tells the girls.

"This is kind of a big deal," Erika comments.

"It is," Garcelle agrees.

"I don't even remember the last time I went inside a restaurant," Hailey agreed.

"Right?" Dorit commented.

"Wait a second, why are we so far apart?" Lisa asked.

"Well, they have to with Covid and all that," Kathy explained.

"Hello down there ladies," Lisa waved to them.

"Hi," they all waved back.

"Have we decided on some drinks?" The waitress asked.

"Can I get the elit spritz?" Hailey asked.  "Thank you."

Spritzer's were some of Hailey's favorite alcoholic drinks.  This one included Stoli Elite, Passionfruit Puree, Lemon, Club Soda and Orange.

"That sounds good," Kyle agreed.  "I'll have a spicy margarita on the rocks no salt."

"Is anybody going to have red wine?" Kathy asked.

"I'm having a margarita because I have to wake up a little bit," Kyle tells her sister.

"I'm having a spritzer," Hailey tells her.

"What?" Kathy asks.  "I can't hear you."

"Kathy, why don't you come down and visit for a little bit and you guys swap," she said about Erika and Kathy.  "And then we'll swap again."

"Oh, okay."

"Hello darling," Hailey greets the blonde older woman.

"Your having a martini as well," Garcelle comments to her.

"Ladies," Kathy talks louder to get everyone's attention.  "I just wanted us to have us all raise our glass and to say thank you to Lisa for planning this beautiful weekend and the night has just begun."

"Cheers," they all clanked their glasses and Hailey also thanked Lisa for a wonderful trip.

The appetizers came out and Hailey immediately grabbed some fruit and flat bread.

"During the Covid time I was just snacking," Sutton told the group.

"During Covid was the time I was most active," Hailey told them.

"In the sheets or in the streets?" Kyle asked laughing.

"Both," she told her also laughing.

Since she had started seeing a therapist during Covid from feeling down a lot not being able to be around people, her therapist recommended her to be more active.  So she started doing more pilates and yoga and of course having more sex with her husband which definitely helped.

"Okay girl, I see you," Erika said in approval.  "I hit up every drive-thru.  I was the fast food Queen.  Tom brought home Morton's everyday for like three months and I was like, 'honey, you gotta stop.'"

"Sorry for interrupting, have you decided on what you want to eat?" The waitress asked Hailey as she put her appetizer down.

"Oh yes," Hailey nods her head.  "I'll get the short rib and the hidden gem salad and the New England Clam Chowder."

"Perfect," the waitress said as she wrote it down.  "That's actually one of my favorite salad's we have here."

"That's good to know," Hailey nodded her head and handed her the menu.

"I can't wait for my Lisa lips," Sutton tells Lisa.

"I can't wait to give you your Rinna Beauty lips," Lisa tells her.

"Did you create your own makeup line?" Hailey asks the actress as she tries to get to know her better.

"I did," Lisa nods her head with a big smile.  "I can't believe it's taken me this long to come up with one."

"That's awesome," Hailey smiles, happy to support other woman's successes.  "I can't wait to see the finished product.  Speaking of lines - I wanted to invite all of you to my house for a new launch I'm doing with my jewelry line when we get back."

"Oh how fun," Garcelle tells her and the women agree.  "What's the collection?"

"It's with Disney," Hailey tells her as she begins to eat her food.  "But it's a very classy line," Hailey finishes.

"And if you should know anything about Hailey it's how much her and her husband love Disney," Kyle tells them.

"Yeah, we have season passes too," Hailey laughs.  "Or at least we had them when Disney did them.  Then Covid changed it all and they got rid of the passes," she frowned slightly.

"Do you guys go a lot?" Lisa asked her.

"We used to go at least once a month."

"Oh wow!"

"Yeah," Hailey agreed.  "I also have some Disney tattoos too."

"You have tattoos?" Lisa asked.

"I have seven tattoos," Hailey tells her.  "But they're smaller ones.  My husband has the bigger tattoos."

"I've always wanted a tattoo but I'm too scared to get one in case I change my mind if I don't like it later on," Dorit tells Hailey.

"I thought that way too at first but I just get ones that are really meaningful to me and I know that I would never want to get rid of."

"Hey Hails?" Kathy said as she tried to get her attention.

"Yeah?" Hailey asked.

"Did you see that they have Lobster Tagliatelle?" She smirked at Hailey who narrowed her eyes and Garcelle along with Kyle laughed.

"Kathy, you wouldn't dare," she told the blonde.

"Oh my God," Garcelle laughed and shook her head.

"What's going on?" Crystal asked, wanting to know the inside joke so Garcelle told her.  "Are you serious?  Kathy, you really did that?"

"What?" Kathy played innocent.  "I wanted to have fun and Hailey just so happened to be the target of that."

"Yeah and now I don't eat lobster thanks to you," she told her.

"You still don't eat it?" Kathy asked as she leaned forward.  "Maybe I should have gotten it and have you try some..."

"I'm just fine, thanks," Hailey went back to drinking her spritzer and looked up to smile at Kathy again.

"Oh here's my honey," Kathy tells the girls as she answers her phone.

"Hi honey," Rick greets his wife.

"Hi sweetie, how are you?  So you're checking in to see how everything's going, right?"

"Yes.  Is everyone behaving?"

"Unfortunately, yes," Kathy tells him and Hailey laughs at the comment.

Kathy gets off the phone and Hailey murmurs to Kyle.

"I think they're talking about what happened between Sutton and Crystal last night."

"Shit," Kyle mutters.  "What happened with you guys?" Kyle asked Dorit.

"Just now I was having a conversation and I said, 'Erika's spent the majority of her life between New York and Los Angeles.  She's around a lot of multi-cultured,'" then she mocks Sutton as Sutton bit her head off.  "And I take offense to that."

Hailey had a shocked look to her face as her eyes widened and Kyle didn't look too happy about it either.

"That's how I felt too," Crystal told Hailey.

"She's very touchy," Garcelle tries to explain to Dorit.

"Well, when you kind of get someone who has a reaction it's just like, 'woah,'" Dorit says.

"This is what I think," Hailey tries to explain her thinking.  "Everyone reacts and thinks differently, right?  I think Sutton, from what I've gathered, is a bit more emotional than the rest of us.  I think that's what everyone needs to kind of understand.  Does it mean we have to probably be a little bit more careful with our wording?  I don't know.  Maybe.  But I get the feeling that something else is going on with Sutton and maybe that's why she's more emotional?  I don't know her that well but I feel like that she's not usually this hypersensitive.  Am I wrong?"

"You know what?" Kathy caught the attention of the waitress.  "Leave it here.  Can we get another one for my friend Dorit and Hailey too?"

"Sure, I'll be right back," the waitress agreed and came back with another.

"Why do you have two of them, Kathy?" Garcelle asked.

"Hailey, Dorit, I've already had two of these-" Kathy began to say.

"She's had two martini's is that what she said?" Erika said shocked and amazed.

"You gotta do bottoms up though," Kathy told Hailey.

"I mean is there any other way?" Hailey asked as both women had gotten the text from Kathy letting her know about the prank.

"Bottoms up?  Okay.  We're doing bottom's up," Dorit told Hailey and Kathy.  Lisa and Erika looked at each other in shock.

"If you two are doing it then I'm doing it," Dorit agreed.

"I'm doing it," Hailey agreed.

"Me too," Kathy said.

"Are they drinking the whole thing?" Lisa asked confused.

"We're on a girls trip.  We are going to have fun tonight and anyone that isn't - you can just watch us have fun," Kathy explains with a smile.

"This is the Kathy that I know and love," Hailey tells the camera.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"Bottoms up," Kathy says.

"Here goes nothing," Hailey took a deep breath before drinking it.

All three of them at the same time took the sip and made a disgust taste at the thought of downing alcohol.

"Oh my God," the girls yelled shocked as Hailey finished hers first.

"Shit that burns," Hailey made a face.

"That was awesome," Crystal laughs and high fives Hailey as she knew what what was going on.  Crystal was smart and figured out what Kathy was doing.

"Those bitches are fucking hardcore," Lisa comments as the group was shocked what they just did.

"What the fuck did I just witness?" Erika asked.

Lisa does a bow down act to the three of them.

"God that was awful," Hailey tells them and shakes her head.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"I am impressed," Erika says.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"I couldn't do that," Sutton tells them.

"You have to try it at least once," Hailey tells her.

"That was impressive.  Totally turned on right now," Crystal comments.

"Let's wait a minute and maybe do one more," Kathy tells them.

"I'm down," Hailey says and drinks some water.

"Another bottoms up?" Crystal asks.

"You guys are crazy," Garcelle says.

"Do you know how bad you're going to feel tomorrow?" Erika asked them.

"Erika what did you get?" Dorit asks her and does the phone symbol very sneakily.

"Lisa will you do one if we have bottom's up?" Dorit asked her.

"You know what you've got one life to live."

"Is anyone else having one or not?" Kathy asked.  "Erika?"

"I'll bottom's up with you."

"Those two ladies down there will have belvedere."

"You doing one?" Hailey asked Sutton.

"No."

"Oh come on, have some fun!" Hailey said trying to loosen the blonde up.  She seemed kind of up tight right now.

"On your mark - get set, go," Lisa said.

"Ugh," Hailey shuddered.

"What time does the after party start?" Kathy asked.

"Honey, it starts now," Hailey told her.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"You chugged two martini's in a row.  How on earth are you still standing?" The producer asked.

"It's just water," Kathy told him her secret.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"This was genius.  I mean did you see the look on those women's faces?  Priceless!  I can't," she says sipping a martini but then stops.  "This is an actual martini this time."

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"This is the best ever," Garcelle tells Kathy as she was in on the prank.

"Let's go guys.  Come on," Lisa told the group.

"Are you a little tipsy, Hailey?" Crystal joked when she kind of fell as she tried to get into the van and Garcelle laughed.

"Nope, just couldn't see right then," Hailey laughed and sat down next to Garcelle and Kathy got in next to her while Sutton sat in the back.

*

"Now I'm cranky and I was having such a good time," Garcelle complains.

"Me too," Hailey pouted as they got out of the van.  "There always has to be a Karen in the group."

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"Really?" Sutton gave a deadpan look.  "There always has to be a Karen in the group?  That was low."

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"Oh my God, get me out of that car," Crystal says and right now Hailey was pissed off too.

Why did Sutton have to be this way?

"Were you guys texting at the table about Sutton?" Garcelle asks the other women.

"Absolutely not."

"I swear on my mother's life absolutely not," Dorit said.

"Sometimes you've had enough," Sutton exclaimed to Kyle.  "Why'd you have to tell them?" Sutton lashes out at Garcelle.

"Because I want you to know that they weren't doing that!" Garcelle tells her.

"This girl has lost her mind.  Why is it about her?" Crystal asked Kathy and Hailey.

"What happened?" Dorit asked Hailey.

"I swear one moment we laughing about the joke that Kathy did and the next Sutton was talking about how she felt left out."

"I was feeling left out.  There was a practical joke, be honest Crystal," Sutton bit back.

"There was a joke but she didn't have nothing to do with it," Garcelle tells Sutton.

"YOU KICKED ME!!" Sutton yells.

"No, I kicked you because I didn't want to ruin the joke.  Dude you're so uptight.  Relax!  It's a fucking joke about water vodka!"

"We were just having a good time," Garcelle tells Sutton.  "You've got to let things go."

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"Sutton says that she's a grown woman but my kids behave better than how she just acted.  And my oldest is seven," Hailey says.  "Where's the alcohol when you actually need it?"

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"There was a joke happening at the table.  Am I right?  Who was in on the joke, raise your hand?" Sutton asks.

They all raised their hands.

"All of you but me!  That's not nice."

"Can I just say something?" Garcelle asked.  "We were in on the joke.  She," Garcelle pointed to Crystal.

"Kyle did not know," Dorit said.

"The detective figured it out but then we found out towards the end of the dinner that you guys were doing your own thing," Garcelle says.

"They were punking each other," Crystal says.  "So I go to Garcelle and say, 'oh my God the girls are drinking water and she goes Kathy's drinking water!'"

"I saw Dorit and Hailey do it and I go, 'my God, Dorit and Hailey that's amazing!  She said girl do you want to do it?  It's funny and that's what happened."

"So we get in the car and we start opening up about her," Crystal says as she points to Kathy.  "About to punk you guys.  And she and I knew that you guys were punking her.  And I kicked you not to talk about this because I don't want Kathy to know that the other girls were drinking water," Crystal explained and Hailey nodded her head confirming it all.  "So she could do the punk and then you guys punk her back.  That's why I kicked you because I thought you knew!"

"It was just a joke!" Garcelle said, a little frustrated.

"A harmless joke," Hailey agreed.

"And you lost your mind about it," Crystal told Sutton.

"I've never had a friend go," and she demonstrated what Crystal did.  "I've never had that."

"Well now you do," Hailey half smiles.  "I'm going to bed.  Night everyone."

"Okay, well it's a first time," Crystal agreed with Hailey's comment.

C O N F E S S I O N A L

"I just uh, don't even know what to say at this point," Hailey half scoffs and asks the producer another question.  "Does anyone have popcorn or a drink?  So I can watch the tea play out..."

"We have popcorn," the producer tells her.

"I'll take that please, thank you," she rubs her hands together and eats some on camera.

What do you guys think is going to happen this season with Hailey and the women?

Who do you think she is going to be close with and who do you think she's not going to be close with?

When and how do you think they will react when the group finds out Hailey is still friends with LVP?

Writing moments with Hailey and her family are my favorite :).

Also can I just say that I actually think Chris and Alba are sooo cute together?!  I saw her in Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris and she was really good.  I just hope that she wants a family and wants to settle down if she's the woman Chris wants to marry.
