Chap. 8 I Won.
(Y/n)'s eyes opened to the bright hospital room, and she smirked, 'It's been a while...'
"I see that you're awake." Kakashi said, and she turned her head toward him. "It doesn't seem like it's been that long since you were pissed at me, Izumo, Kotetsu, and Jiraiya, in this very hospital room."
She chuckled, "Yeah, the good ol' times."
"So," Tsunade started as she walked into the room, "I've ordered multiple DNA tests, on top of a few others, hoping to find a reason why you passed out... And how you might be related to Yume. Who, by the way, wants to talk to you. Do you want me to let her in?"
"Uh... Yes. Sorry, that was a lot of information." She shook her head. Tsunade left the room, and (Y/n) looked over at Kakashi, "Like, wanna go buy me some ramen after this?"
Kakashi chuckled, "Sure. If the DNA tests conclude that you're dying, I might even buy you two bowls." He offered a closed-eyed smile, leaning his face on his fist as his elbow rested against his knee.
"How generous..." She smiled, a warmth spreading across her face, which made her glad that she was wearing a mask.
Yume looked between the two slowly, as they stared at each other silently smiling for at least thirty seconds. Shisui cleared his throat.
"Oh, sorry, we didn't realize you were there, eheheh."
"It's fine. I know you might be uncomfortable with it, but may I see your face without that mask?"
(Y/n) looked up at her, "Oh, sure." She pulled the mask down.
"You guys are identical... Aside from a few wrinkles..." He grinned toward his wife. Yume's elbow collided with Shisui's ribs, and he bent over as he clutched his side, "Ow..."
"I don't know how you couldn't be related..." Kakashi said, "But stranger things have happened." He shrugged.
"How old are you, (Y/n)-chan?" Yume asked, stepping closer.
"Uh... Do you want my real age or my 'here' age...?"
"Your real age."
"Well... I was twenty-two, and then I got here and I was thirteen... I'm eighteen now... Carry the one..."
"You're twenty-seven." Yume stated. "My 'here' age is twenty-two, almost twenty-three... My real age is also twenty-seven."
(Y/n) was silent for a moment, "Did you... come from someplace else?"
"I believe so." Yume nodded.
"Okay, okay, this is weird." She sighed, "But, our birthdays don't match up. My birthday is July first."
"Do you know for certain that that's the date of your birth?"
"Well... no, I guess not..."
"Did you... have parents?"
"No, I was raised moving between orphanages. My mother died when I was very little, that's all I know."
"I had an adopted sister... But I have no idea where she came from, or how she found me. I'd been with her since I was too little to remember. So I may not know my real birthday, either..." She smiled.
"Heh..."
"Yeah, I know."
"How old were you when you got here?"
"In Konoha? I was five, 'here' age."
"...How does that work? If you were with your adoptive sister for your life up until then, how could you have lost so many years?"
"...Good question. We can go forward and backward in time, we don't just have to use it on objects or beings."
"Ah... Jiraiya and I wondered if it was something like that..." Her eyes furrowed, "What is there that we can't do? We can change the timeline of objects, the timeline itself, and we can move inter-dimensionally.."
"If you become too young, you forget everything and you could die. If you become too old, you can die, and aging yourself can make you lose massive amounts of muscle."
(Y/n)'s eyes widened, "HEHEHE, did you say muscle atrophy, don't need to go there again."
"Also, altering the timeline of worlds is a bad idea, and don't mess with time alone. It's a very dangerous Jutsu."
"But... I already mess with time and space alone all the time. It's never had any effect on me..."
Yume sweatdropped, "Yeah, you should stop playing with time. Space isn't quite as dangerous, because it's easier to control, but time is extremely hard to control or change. Which makes it very destructive."
"Okay, I won't play with time anymore." She looked around, wide-eyed.

Some of the tests had come back, and Tsunade deemed (Y/n) fit to leave. They were still waiting on a DNA test between (Y/n) and Yume, but Tsunade said it could take a few hours, to a few days.
"So, what if you're related?" Kakashi asked.
(Y/n) rose a brow, "What if we are?"
"(Y/n), I know you better than you think I do. You're completely disheveled."
"That's not a word you hear from the Copy Ninja very often."
"Don't change the subject." He flipped a page in his book. "Let's talk about your problems." [1]
"What will you do if I don't wanna?" She stuck her lip out, crossing her arms as the two continued toward Ichiraku.
'Maybe I should- Nope...'
"I'll tell Gai you wanted to train with him."
Her eyes widened as she looked at Kakashi, who was smiling with his eye, "You wouldn't dare..."
"Wouldn't I...?" He looked over at her with a mischievous glint in his eye, "I haven't gotten you back for taking off with my book yet... And I happen to know where Gai usually is during this time of day."
"Fine, fine..." She sighed, "I've just... Never had a family before, that's all. I don't know how to do all of that..."
"What do you mean? Having Yume around shouldn't be any different than being around your other friends."
"Yeah, I guess, but I just feel like... like it's added pressure." She pursed her lips together, "I just don't know how to handle something like this, I guess you're right, I am disheveled."
"Let me add more pressure. Yume and Shisui have a daughter, so you might be an aunt."
Her eyes widened, and she stopped in her tracks, Kakashi stopping too. She grabbed his book from his hand and violently threw it at him, "WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU!?"
He snickered as he caught his book after it had hit him, "You'll be fine, (Y/n). It's won't be as hard as you think, I promise."
She averted her eyes, puffing her cheeks out childishly, "Well since you promise, I guess I believe you..."
"Come on, let's go get some ramen."

Kakashi and (Y/n) sat on top of a rooftop in Konoha, looking over the village as the sun sets, making small talk.
"I heard Kenji is on a mission right now." (Y/n) said, laying back against the roofing.
"I think he takes a lot of missions these days... He's become pretty well known."
She chuckled, "It's funny, he used to be such a brat... he really changed."
"Yeah..." Kakashi laid down as well, staring up at the orange-tinted sky, "You all changed."
They both turned their heads to each other slowly, their eyes made contact before a voice pulled them from their thoughts, "(Y/n)! Kakashi! The Hokage has asked for y-!" Kotetsu cut himself off, realizing the two were spending time together in a way that seemed...
Almost romantic...
******
(Y/n) watched as Tsunade slowly opened the test results. Yume watched Tsunade's face remained expressionless, wondering what the paper said. 'Come one, Tsunade...'
'Why is she taking so long...?' (Y/n) wondered.
"You two..."
"Yes...?" They both asked.
"You're identical twins..."
Both women's eyes widened before they turned to each other.
"This is a little weird, I do need to say that."
"Heh! You're tellin' me!" (Y/n) responded. "I figured my family were all dead!"
"Wow, that's dark, same here."
Shisui tapped Kakashi's shoulder, getting his attention to whisper, "Is this... bonding?" [2]
Kakashi looked back over at them as they continued their strange conversation,
"Do you like pickles in your ramen?" Yume asked as if it was perfectly normal.
"I've never tried it, but I love both of those things!"
"I think so..." He smiled awkwardly. When the ladies walked out of the room, the two men followed, trailing behind.
Shisui happened to notice Kakashi wasn't reading and hadn't the entire time. He narrowed his eyes, "Where's your book? You're always reading."
"Hm? I must've forgotten it." He shrugged nonchalantly.
"Forgot your book, huh...?" His eyes traveled down to Kakashi's weapons pouch. He tried extremely hard to make out if what he was seeing was in fact the outline of a book or not.
"Shisui." Yume called, "Shisui, why are you staring at Kakashi's butt?" Yume asked, raising a brow at her husband.
He pointed in Kakashi's direction, like a small child tattling on his sibling, "He's hiding something."
Yume looked at Kakashi, who shrugged, avoiding eye-contact entirely, "I don't know what you're talking about."
"Oh, really? Then what's in your weapons pouch?" Shisui asked.
"Weapons."
"What else?"
(Y/n) was becoming curious with the conversation, and a grin spread across her face as she quickly got behind Kakashi and slid her hand into the weapons pouch to pull out his book, and took off before realizing it was his book.
"(Y/n)! Not again!" He ran after her.
"Damnit, it's just Icha Icha!" She looked back, seeing Kakashi was right on her tail.
The two Shinobi left on the street in the middle of Konoha watched as they ran away.
"They like each other." Shisui grinned mischievously.
"They do." Yume nodded. "But stay out of it!" She hit him on the head, "Remember what happened the last time you tried to play match-maker!?"
He rubbed his head, "Yeah... I couldn't sleep for days after that."
"Good." She kissed his cheek, "If they're meant to be, they'll be together."
"Yeah, but we'd better hope she's willing to make the first move, 'cause he won't!"
She sighed, "Anyway, Bashira's babysitter could only watch her for an hour and a half, so we'd better go."
"Yeah." Shisui nodded. "Wait, I thought she was single and lonely? I wonder what she's doing..."
Yume shrugged, "She has eyes for Iruka. Maybe they're secretly a couple."
(Y/n)'s P.O.V.
I ran with the orange book in my hand, trying my best not to look back. Unlike last time, Kakashi had nothing important to do, and he already knew it was me. Oh, I still figure the worst he would do is put me in a Genjutsu and tie me to a tree, laughing at me as I tried to get free.
"(Y/n)! Get back here with my book!" He said in a warning tone.
I made a weird voice, which sounded like a cross between Mickey and Elmo, "You can't catch me! I'm the Gingerbread Man!" [3] I knew he had no idea what I was talking about, but self-entertainment is important too.
Soon, Kakashi had cut me off, and I skidded to a halt. "Give me the book, (Y/n)." She couldn't help but notice the outline of a smirk beneath his mask.
She placed it behind her back, taking a step toward him, "And what if I don't?"
Without skipping a beat, he responded, "I'll tie you to a tree and read it to you."
"You don't have to tie me to a tree, I won't go anywhere." She smirked.
His face went blank as he watched hers before he tackled her to the ground.
She struggled to keep the book from him, pulling it as far above her head as she could. He easily reached it, laughing at her failed attempt.
"You lose." He said simply. She pouted, and he realized her mask had been pulled down to her chin in the struggle.
She smirked as she noticed he was staring t her lips. "No, I didn't." She tugged his mask down and pulled his face down to hers. "I won..." She whispered, before turning into water, and the real woman, grabbed and ran away with his book, laughing maniacally.
"Maybe you should've taken that Hitai-ate off, Kakashi!" She shouted back.
[1] "Let's talk about your problems." Lol, therapist Kakashi. Wearing glasses, as he looks over them at you, and wearing a perfect fit suit, without the jacket... 🥵
And, of course, he would be holding a clipboard, or notebook, or whatever they hold, but he's actually reading Icha Icha Paradise on his phone.
"And how do I make you feel?"
EHEHEHEHEHEHEHEH Okay I'll stop now.
[2] "Is this... bonding?"
*Sai walks into the room* "It says in this book..."
[3] I'm sorry if that was lame, I couldn't help myself. But I'm dying 😆. It's late, gimmie a break.
