Ch. 6 Maskless

Yis, I made da pic... I won't admit how many hours it took me, nor how many layers, but I made it. I was actually gone for a couple of days there...

But look at his face, it was so worth it. If you can, zoom in on that book cover, I'm so proud of that, comparing it to the one for this story. Maybe more proud of that than his face, the blanket, or that flak jacket, not gonna lie.

(Y/n)'s P.O.V.

Tsunade's shoulders slumped as I gave her the news, and then she asked for a description of his face.

I blushed, "Oh, you know, it was just a face. Just a face."

She rose a brow, "Just a face? What kind of face?" She narrowed her eyes, "Is Kakashi attractive, ugly, average...?"

Shizune looked at me, curious.

"No."

"What?"

"No. None of the above."

She grunted, her eye twitching, "What does he look like?"

"He looks like Kakashi without a mask."

She picked up a stapler and threw it past me, "Get out of my office."

I snickered as I closed the door behind me, "Are you happy? Keeping your secret nearly knocked me out."

He offered a closed-eyed smile, "I'm happy. But maybe next time you should run when you see her eye twitch."

"How do you know that she- Does she do that often?!"

He shrugged, before disappearing.

Kakashi's P.O.V.

I sighed, walking to (Y/n)'s apartment. We had a mission today, a real one this time.

Jiraiya and Naruto left a week ago, shortly after Tsunade paid out on their bet.

(Y/n)'s door was partially open, so I pushed it open a little more, peering inside, "(Y/n)? Are you here?" No answer. I blinked, stepping in further, "(Y/n)?"

I looked around. If she could help it, she never left her apartment this early, before she left Konoha, or after she came back. As I slowly walked toward her bedroom, I spotted a stack of papers on her desk, just before her door, and noticed the one on top immediately, instinctively smirking. I picked the drawing up, chuckling as I stared down at it.

'What a surprise...' I couldn't help but wonder where she learned to do this, but I knew I'd have to torture her about it.

Her bedroom door opened, and her eyes landed on me, and I turned the picture toward her, smiling big enough that I knew she would make it out through my mask. "I didn't realize you liked my face so much, (Y/n)."

"Kakashi!" She ran toward me, trying to take the picture from me, but I held it up too high, "Give that back!"

"Okay, but you have to tell me how long it took you to draw." I laughed as she tried to reach the drawing.

"You weren't supposed to be here so early!" She said, trying to climb me by wrapping her legs around me and holding onto my shoulder, to which I calmly moved the picture, holding it out to my left.

"Well, it's obvious you missed me." I turned my face toward hers, to my right, and she growled at me, and I rose a brow. "I have to say, what attention to detail, the scar, mole, book, shuriken covers in the background. You didn't leave anything out... aside from a few shadows, maybe..."

Her eyes widened, "What!? I didn't miss any shadows!" I held the picture out in front of us, so she could see it, and it was amusing to watch her look so intently at the picture. "What are you talking-"

I smirked as she looked back at me, now with my mask off. She was still hanging onto me, her legs wrapped around my torso from my right side and almost my back, and her hands on my shoulder, with my left hand holding the depiction of me in front of us.

She, somehow, moved around my body, to my front, reaching for the drawing again, which I then moved to the right hand, and captured her right hand with my left one. Her left hand was on my right shoulder, to keep her from falling.

She blushed, glaring. "So? How long did you spend thinking about my face? Answer honestly, and I won't bring it up again."

She continued to glare at me for a good minute and a half, refusing to back down until she sighed, muttering, "Nine hours in total..." She pouted.

As I looked at her grumpy expression, I realized something that I should've noticed sooner. 'Without her mask... she looks like...'

"Uh..." My head turned back to see Iruka, standing in the doorway, blushing as he held onto a book. He averted his eyes, "Sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt..." He walked away.

While I was distracted, or she thought I was distracted, (Y/n) reached for the picture, and I jerked it back, and we toppled over. She landed on top of me, and I have to give her credit, she was persistent. She immediately reached for the drawing, but I flipped us, pinning her arms to the ground.

She grumbled something I was unable to make out.

I looked up as I heard the door open further, and she tilted her head back, looking toward it, too. "KAKASHI!?" Kotetsu shouted.

Well, it was then that I realized how this looked. We were both maskless, and I had her pinned to the floor beneath me, with one of my knees between her legs.

Izumo was behind him, and both men glared daggers at me, "YOU MAY BE A JOUNIN, BUT YOU BETTER HOPE YOU CAN TAKE THE TWO OF US!" Kotetsu ran toward us, and Izumo followed, and I quickly disappeared.

Third Person's P.O.V.

"Did he hurt you?" Kotetsu asked, kneeling beside (Y/n).

She laughed, "Hurt me? Kakashi wouldn't hurt me."

He crossed his arms, and she noticed that he had a 'you're about to get a huge lecture' face on.

"Dude, what's your deal?"

"My deal? My deal is that he's eight years older than you, (Y/n)."

"It's not like that, anyway."

"What's this?" Izumo rose a brow, holding up the picture that Kakashi dropped when he flipped them.

She blushed, but crossed her arms, "I draw all of my friends."

"Oh? Do you? But do you draw in them in such a soft, romanticized way?" She threw a Shuriken toward his face, and he dodged just in time, his eyes wide. "You could've taken out an eye!"

"Well, you're a Chunin, so if you hadn't been able to dodge or block, you would've been useless anyway." She stood, taking the drawing, "And leave me alone, sheesh. Can't a girl be pinned to the floor in peace?" She smirked as both men glared at her. She chuckled, "Relax, guys, it wasn't what it seemed like."

"What was it, then?" Kotetsu asked, unconvinced.

"Well... We are supposed to go on a mission... and my alarm didn't go off, so when Kakashi got here, I was asleep. He found the drawing on my desk, and I tried to take it back, but as I climbed him-"

"You what!?" Izumo blushed.

"-we toppled to the floor, and I still tried to get the picture back, and he flipped us and dropped the drawing and then you showed up."

Kotetsu crossed his arms, "And why was his mask off?"

Izumo gasped, "And when did you see his face, to begin with?"

She blushed, "That's not your business, both of you."

As Iruka walked through the street, toward Ichiraku Ramen, he thought, 'I didn't realize Kakashi was that kind of Sensei...' He blushed as the image ran through his head again.

Kakashi's P.O.V.

"Kakashi?" Tsunade looked up from her paperwork.

"I need to talk to you about (Y/n)."

She lifted a brow, "She's not lashing out again, right?"

I chuckled, "No... She just... she looks a lot like Yume... Exactly, if not for them dying their hair. Do you know of any connection?"

"Yume... that's Shisui's wife, right?"

"Yes. When she was younger, I hadn't noticed it, mostly because she wore a mask... but she's no longer a child... And she looks just like Yume."

Tsunade sat back in her chair, thinking about it, "I'll speak to Yume and Shisui, and see what they have to say about it. For now, you can tell her about it, but let her know that I know nothing about this, and they're on a mission for up to two more days."

"Okay. Later."

(Y/n)'s P.O.V.

I was dressed, now, and Izumo and Kotetsu had protested when I shoved them out of my door, but they were gone, nonetheless.

I had a headache, and cursed when I realized I was out of pain pills, and ran out of the door, catching Kotetsu and Izumo at the bottom of the stairs, "Kotetsu..." I batted my eyelashes as he turned around.

He dramatically groaned, rolling his eyes, his shoulders falling, "What do you want? Didn't you just kick us out?"

"Well, see, I'm kind of out of painkillers..."

He sighed, handing me his keys, "They're in the bathroom cabinet, bring my keys back."

As I searched, I happened upon something familiar. I pulled the stack of clothes out. I looked in the pocket of the jeans to find my duct tape wallet, and in it, my ID. "Ha!"

I soon found the painkillers, took two, and headed back out to the two guys, and grinned as I handed Kotetsu's keys back to him. "Why are you so happy?"

I held the card up, "You still had my clothes from all of those years ago. And I found my ID from the other world!"

They looked closely at it, "You weren't joking. You really are older than you look..."

"Heheheh," I chuckled, "I'm older than you, actually."

Izumo crossed his arms, "Well, you don't act like it."

"That's for sure." Kotetsu agreed.

I pouted, "You guys are so mean to me."

*****

So, as planned, I met Kakashi at the gate, and Kotetsu and Izumo broke away from me, glaring at him from a distance, but he was paying no mind, as he had his face in his book.

"So, I talked to Tsunade..."

"What about?"

"There's a woman, whose husband you met before you left with Jiraiya..."

"...That Uchiha?"

"Yes, Uchiha Shisui. Uchiha Yume, his wife... You have a striking resemblance to her."

I looked over at him, "You think she might be related to me?"

"It's a possibility. She's on a mission now, and won't be back for a couple of days. Tsunade also has no idea whether you're related to her or not."

I nodded. "Can she... you know?" I pointed toward my eyes.

"She... does something similar. But I have no idea the full extent of her powers, and I don't know if your powers are greater or lesser than hers."

"Can she control time?"

"Not as far as I know." He shrugged, "Let's change the subject. You shouldn't read too much into it before you even meet her."

"Fine." I smirked, beginning to walk backward, "Why do you wear that mask?"

"Why do you wear a mask?"

'He thinks I won't answer!'
I shrugged, "I think it looks cool. What about you?"

"When I started at the academy, I had too many fangirls, and I started wearing a mask, so they'd leave me alone."

"...I don't believe you." I stopped.

He sighed, "When I was younger, I thought it looked 'cool', like you, and then I got used to wearing it."

I laughed, "That's more believable!" We began walking again.

"Okay, I have a counter-question." I rose a brow, walking backward again, "Do you prefer me without a mask?" I could easily see the smile through his mask, and I blushed, my feet tangled with each other, and I fell on my butt.

Kakashi chuckled, "Hey! It's not funny!" I shouted, crossing my arms.

He was standing directly in front of me now, and kneeled, "Well?"

"Why would I!?" I huffed, crossing my arms.

"Oh, I don't know... But why had you drawn a picture of me maskless, if not?"

I glared at him, before standing up and turning around, "We should keep going."
