''Heyy...you good? are you okay to walk?'' Nancy tells me as she places her hand on my shoulder

I take in deep breathes, ''yeah...yeah I'm good. Let's go.''

I tilt my head up in pride and start walking towards the office, a single sentence playing in my head repeatedly, 'conceal, don't feel.'

As we get closer to my cabin the scent gets stronger than ever. Damn it, whoever this guy is; he needs to leave the building. I manage to locate the source of the musky scent; the lobby. ''I can do this, '' I whisper to myself.

We get to the lobby and I see Charles talking to someone. He shifts a little to his left and the man is now visible. My eyes widen in shock but I quickly look away. Oh no...no... no.... no.... Him!

Theo Argent is my mate!! Why? Why goddess why? That incessant man! No wonder he was behaving weirdly and calling me love that time. Ughhh.

I very quickly avert my gaze, trying my level best to not run into his arms. Ugghhh, as if. Calm down stupid wolf, making me feel things. I make my way to my cabin as fast as possible while ignoring the pair.

I hear Charles talking to Nancy and call her in immediately. Oh God, this is going to be really hard.

''Heyy, so Charles is......'' Nancy starts, I lift up my hand in silence and she immediately shuts up.

''...not a concern at the moment,'' I tell her as I click my laptop to life. ''We've got work to do.''

As we continue going through the slides, I notice his stare on me. Like seriously doesn't he have better things to do? I shift in my seat uncomfortably and Nancy looks at me quizzically. ''Hey, you okay? you are fidgeting a lot.

''Yeah I'm good.... uhh...I think we should install blinds in my office.'' I tell her knowing fully well that the two men outside are listening in.

''Well we had suggested that but you refused so...'' she purses her lips. 

''Hmm.''

Oh God I need to get out of here. I try to tune out my mate as much as possible but my wolf is restless. She wants to run to her mate, feel his arms around her, inhale his scent, his musky scent that is driving both me and her crazy. Oh god no! no! focus Athena. Focus.

After about 40 minutes they decide to leave, seeing that I'm not going to give them my time of the day. ''Ughh thank the moon goddess,'' I mumble as soon as they walk out of the door.

''What did you say?'' Nancy asks her ears perking up. ''What uhh...nothing. Did you hear something?''

''I thought I did. Anyway, now that we've narrowed down our options, we can send them over to Mr. Greys' or would you be personally delivering them to him?'' she wiggles her eyebrows at me.

''You can email these to his office, here take them,'' I tell her irritably.

''Okay, okay, I'm taking them. No need to get so furious Athena. What's up with you today anyway?''

''I'm sorry, I .... I just...it's nothing,'' I reply giving her my best fake smile and walk to the wide window. I look down and see Charles and Theo walking into the building opposite mine. The very same one he was overly confident about. ''Damn you Morgan.''

''Easy there tiger, you're gonna take someone's eye out with that,'' Leo says as he defends my attack towards him, during our evening training session that day.

''That's usually the aim when fighting your enemy isn't it?'' I reply as I dodge his attack and make and attempt to twist my body and attack but he predicts it and grabs me by the waist pulling me to him, my back against his chest.

''You're stressed Athena. Talk to me,'' he whispers in my ear, his breath sending tingles all over me.

''I'm fine, everything's okay.'' I lie but he chuckles. ''I can hear your heartbeat. I know you're lying. Come on, tell me.''

''You really don't want to know,'' I reply and pull away from him. I walk towards the bench and grab my bottle of water.

''But I do. I do want to know. Correct me if I'm wrong but we're together right? We're dating and If my girlfriend is worried I have a right to know.''

''Ohh wow, girlfriend huh,'' I bite my lip in nervousness. '' I didn't know we are giving it a label.''

''Ohhh, okay....so ummm...right now we are.... phelgm,'' he mutters which makes me laugh. 

''Yeah whatever that is.''

''So when do I...how would I put it, say, get upgraded to boyfriend,'' he asks as we make way for our next class, which is my favorite, hand to hand combat. With the current mood I'm in, someone is going to get their ass handed over to them today.

And that someone just happens to block my entrance to the training room. ''Move,'' I tell her.

''Or what?'' she threatens and crosses her arms, ''are you going to tell your boyfriend here to beat me cause princess doesn't fight with anyone else but him. Tell me, is it because he goes easy on you huh? That's why you only flight with him.''

''Look Felicia....'' I start but she cuts me off. '' Do not call me that. I thought I made myself clear,'' she snarls at my face.

''I will call you by the name your parents gave you, do you hear me? try doing that again and I will re position your face, Felicia!'' I growl at her, the anger building up in me by the second.

''Athena.... Athena...calm down,'' Leo warns, sensing the anger, my wolf ready to come out and rip this human apart. He starts rubbing my arm but it has no effect whatsoever and I push him aside.

''You want a fight don't you?'' I start walking towards her dangerously, ''then it's a fight you'll get and mind you, I'm not one to hold back.''

''Neither am I,'' she hisses at me, takes a step forward and then pushes me against the wall.

''Athena!'' Leo shouts and attempts to help me but I stop him. ''It's okay, I got this.''

''What happened, don't want your boyfriend's help,'' Felicia smirks as she readies herself for a second attack.

''Not really, since I can take you down myself just fine,'' I crack my knuckles and punch her hard in the face. Not as hard as I normally would as that would certainly kill her. I had to push my wolf back and use human strength to fight her. Trust me, it's not easy telling an alpha to back down, especially not one with anger issues.

''You bitch!!'' she snarls and comes at me but I dodge the attack. We have now exchanged positions and are facing each other, me waiting for her to attack, her waiting for me.

''Scared Athena?'' she suddenly speaks up. Why does this sound familiar? I squint my eyes at this and then find myself saying, ''You wish,'' have I done this before? I ask myself this question, getting distracted in the process, which she takes as an advantage and rams into me.

We both fall to the ground with a grunt, me bearing the brunt of it all. Felicia doesn't waste a single second as she starts landing punches on me, I managed to block a few but she still got me pretty good.

''You're weak! That's why you always fight with him......he goes easy on you, doesn't he?'' she says in between punches, ''weak ass woman.''

I let her punch me one last time, ''watch who you call weak,'' I growl out and block her incoming punch. I wrap my hand around her fist and push her hand back. Her eyes widen in shock at the sudden display of strength.

I smirk at her as I get up, still restraining her left hand with my right. She tries to hit me with her right hand but I grab it. ''You thought that just because you landed a few punches on me, you can insult me?'' I say with authority in my voice which makes her eyes widen more, if that's even possible.

I grab her t-shirt and lift her up a bit, an evil smirk playing on my lips as I throw her across the room, she hits the wall and falls down like a pile of rocks. Again, why is this so familiar? Why do I feel like I've done this before?

I start to feel the familiar uneasiness as I rack my brain for this memory, ''Oh dear...no...no...now is really not a good time,'' I mutter as I feel the headache coming.

''Leo!!! We need to leave!'' I yell as the throbbing at the back of my head intensifies. He is by my side in an instant.

''You okay?'' he grabs me by the shoulders. ''Not really.... headache,'' I whisper. Luckily he understood and I didn't have to explain further. ''Let's get you out of here,'' and with that we leave the building. I rush to his car and jump in the back seat, clutching my head in pain.

My wolf starts getting restless, clawing to get out, to get rid of this pain. I try to push her back but she pushes back harder. ''Leo....'' I groan in pain, knowing my eyes are now flashing red.

''I know babe, just hang on.... we are almost home,'' he says from the drivers' seat.

I clutch my head, pull my hair, oh goddess please make it stop, is there anything that can make this stop. Anything!

Tears start rolling down my cheeks, ''make it stop, please.''

The car comes to a screeching stop, ''Athena come on, we're here,'' Leo says as he opens the door and helps me out. ''Is it still there?''

I look up and stare at him,'' what do you think?''

''Yup, still there.'' Thank God he parked the car in the building's basement, we got into the elevator, he presses the button to the 07th floor and the lift whirs to life which does not help me.

The movement from the lift intensifies the pain and a scream escapes me. Leo catches me before I could hit the ground. He lifts me and carries me bridal style.

''05th floor, great. We are almost there babe, hang on, once we get to your apartment......'' he trails off. ''I.... umm...I don't know exactly what to do. How do you usually get it to stop?''

''I'd really like it if you'd shut up. My brain is exploding,'' I growl to him in anger.

''Yeah...sorry,'' he apologizes.

We have arrived on the 07th floor; the elevator dings which in turn makes me cringe. We reach my apartment door and Leo places me down. ''Will you be okay there? Cause I need to get the key from your bag?''

''Hmm....'' I manage to nod while clutching my head. ''Make it stop, make it stop,'' I mumble to myself when the door opposite mine flings open and I'm hit with a strong musky scent which leaves me breathless and weirdly calms me down. I take it in like my life depends on it, the throbbing pain reduces a little although my wolf is still restless and itching to be let out.

''Athena!!! what happened? look at me?'' I hear Charles say. He grabs my face and forces me to look up. 

''It happened again didn't it?'' he gasps. I nod in response, my eyes watery and cheeks puffy. He hugs me tight, my face buried in his chest, I feel someone walk past us and into the apartment as Charles helps me up.

The musky and leathery scent that was calming me down hit me like a brick wall the moment we walked in. With the help of Charles, I sit on one of the couches when Leo walks out the kitchen with a glass of water.

''Athena here drink.......'' He stops midway when he notices two more presences in the house.

''I'll take that,'' Theo says in a gruff voice and snatches the glass from Leo's hand. I notice the color drain from his face.

''You should leave,'' Theo growls at him. ''He is not going anywhere,'' I manage to speak up a bit louder than expected.

''Athena...I...I think it's better that I leave,'' Leo speaks up.

 ''Why, just because he told you to,'' I point towards my supposed mate. ''This is not his house, it's mine, so please stay, for me,'' I say and smile at him.

''Okay,'' he smiles back.

Theo huffs in anger and sits on the couch opposite mine, glaring daggers at Leo who returns them back with the same intensity.

''Athena, what happened? Are you still in pain? Your eyes are back to normal now so...'' Charles turns to me and asks.

''The pain is still there but it has reduced. This has never happened before though,'' I reply. My gaze meets with Theo's and he holds it for a few seconds before I break it.

''The last time it happened, it just abruptly went away,'' Leo speaks up. 

''This has happened before?!'' Theo shouts and grabs onto the armrest in anger.

''More than you'd know, so how about you calm your ass down,'' Leo tells him.

''How about you shut your trap and let Athena answer,'' Theo replies back.

''How about you both shut up and behave!!'' I shout at them and abruptly stand up which was a wrong decision on my side as the pain shot right through the base of my neck. I clutch the back my of head and gasp.

Leo and Theo are immediately by my side. '' Athena.....you need to relax,'' Leo tells me as he pushes a strand of hair behind my ear.

The other two men exchange looks before Charles gives Theo a curt nod. ''Leo, back off,'' Theo threatens him.

I glare at him and grit my teeth in anger. Ohh this ridiculously gorgeous man is getting on my last nerve. Wait what? Did I just call him gorgeous? No, stop Athena...you're supposed to hate him.

''Let me help you, you know I can,'' he says in a very calm voice. His voice makes me shiver and I have to put on the best poker face ever to make it look like it's not affecting me in anyway.

Holy crap, if just his voice and scent are making me feel this way, what happens when we touch?

That question was answered immediately as he reached for the glass and handed it to me. I looked at it warily at first then took it, our fingers brushed against each other and I felt my whole body light up from the contact.

A gasp escapes me as I feel the sparks and the smile on his face tells me he felt it too. Suddenly a rush of calmness runs through me and I sigh in relief as the pain fades away, my head starts to feel light and I have to close my eyes to relish that moment.

''Feel better?'' he asks. I open my eyes and I'm met with his amazing light brown ones staring at me like he is seeing me for the first time. I see a number of emotions run through them before he breaks the eye contact and gets up.

''Thank you,'' I tell him with sincerity in my voice.

''You're always welcome lo....ahemm.... Athena,'' he replies and with that he leaves the apartment.

''I should go too, glad you're okay but you're not off the hook. We seriously need to talk about these episodes of yours,'' Charles tells me as he places a chaste kiss on my forehead and leaves.

''Wow...so your mate is here,'' Leo speaks up after an awkward silence. ''Yeahhh.... about that....'' I start but he cuts me off.

''Look I know you must be exhausted and all, let's just call it a day but rest assured you and I need to talk about this because his presence changes everything, '' he says and gets up to leave.

I don't push it further knowing he is right, so I just sit there on the couch watching him leave without so much as a goodbye kiss.

Damn you Theo Argent for ruining my almost perfect life.
