Chapter 55: The Book Entry
Jimin proceeded to lock lips with Jungkook just underneath him. In seconds his energy was built back up, so he was no longer exhausted compared to Jungkook at the moment.
"Whenever... whenever you want, I'll be ready if you beg for more..." Jimin whispered in between the soft kisses in which, Jungkook exhaled in between to catch his own breath at the same time.
With the sound of Jimin's word sliding into the younger's mind, he smiled into the kiss and suddenly began to laugh as Jimin smiled at the sight of the boy. Laughing in his arms and pressing his forehead against his in that moment. The way Jimin stared at the younger was like he had nothing else in his mind but him.
In every way, Jimin wanted to believe Jungkook was all he had in his mind. But at times, that wasn't entirely true. The way he smiled, giggled, turned red at the slightest whispers and spoke, was sadly, something Jimin has seen all before. It was hard at times for him to see Jungkook differently. When he did, it would only be in those moments he touched him, made love to him, and kissed him over his breathless lips. But any other moment aside from that, Jimin had issues he never longed to let go at times which affected the way he saw Jungkook entirely.
Yes, he did look at the younger in his arms; trying to calm his endless thoughts that circled around his past beloved who was brought up in so many ways through Jeon Jungkook. Park Jimin didn't let go of the past even if it was so long ago, just like his parents, Jimin refused to let anyone go in his life. He was a hoarder, a man who kept many things hidden and locked up to keep his long and eternal life free of any pain. Jimin just believed he couldn't get hurt if he refused anything new and refused letting go of the old. Not knowing that this was truly the root of his problems.
"Did you forget that I'm a human? I think I'll die of exhaustion. You may recover in seconds but I can't," Jungkook responded and cupped Jimin's face right before his. "I'm going to sleep now, I'll see you in the morning." Jungkook then kissed him over his lips once more and finally laid back against the bed to close his eyes right after. Leaving Jimin alone with his own thoughts for hours on end until Jungkook was to wake up.
Jimin watched the boy close his eyes and try to count sheep as Jimin tilted his head and continued to stare at him.
"Hyunwon..." Jimin thought and ran his hand up Jungkook's pale chest to brush Jungkook's hair back to expose his forehead. The way his hair was now set back now looked just like the way Hyunwon had it. This alone left Jimin to stare for a moment before pulling his hand back and watching a few strands of Jungkook's hair fall forward. Leaving the vampire to then turn away and drop right next to the boy right after. No longer wanting to bother Jungkook as he tried to sleep.
There the boy laid. Still recalling the way Jimin rolled his hair back in seconds and said nothing, did nothing. He didn't leave a peck on his forehead nor did he whisper to the boy. He only rolled his soft and black silk hair back and left Jungkook rethinking about Hyunwon within the picture.
"He's still thinking about him even after what we just did... does he have to roll my hair back and think of him at the same time? We made love and not once did I hear that man's name come out of his lips. Please tell me he still doesn't think of us as the same..." Jungkook thought and suddenly listened to Jimin shuffle his body and turn until he faced the boarded window in his direction. Leaving Jungkook to think that Jimin's mind was lost in the same thoughts of Hyunwon once again.
"I lost him... ah, what do I have to do to make him think we're different? I can't be a complete spitting image of Hyunwon... and I can't ask him for any differences between me and that man because he will get upset," Jungkook thought and opened his eyes to look at the shelf far beyond his reach. Thinking of the old book Jimin would write all the time. Jungkook continued to stare at the book until he closed his eyes once more. "I'm scared of making him upset while he doesn't feel the same way towards me in this situation... he doesn't think it's a problem, but to me it is... it is in so many ways. I'm his Jungkook, not his Hyunwon. If I do read what he keeps hidden, will I see him the same way?"
That final thought hung around in his mind long enough for him to keep it in until he unexpectedly fell asleep after so much. Jungkook slept over the bed, not hugging Jimin at all since the thought he kept in his head kept him anxious. All when Jimin was staring at the boarded window where Hyunwon jumped out of twenty-three years ago. It felt like forever, but to Jimin, it kept repeating in his head as if it was just yesterday. One downside to his eternal life was that being able to let go of the little things were tough but when it came to something as traumatic as this, Jimin couldn't bear to think of anything else other than hold the guilt in.
By morning, Jungkook woke up alone. He looked around the room and suddenly glanced down to see that he was just wearing underwear. Of course, he knew he didn't wake up in the middle of the night and slipped it on. Jungkook blushed just thinking of Jimin placing the underwear on the younger just so he wouldn't remain completely nude over the bed.
As Jungkook stretched over the bed; arching his body forward as his chest raised, he held his breath, then exhaled and his body sank to the silk covers to the bed. He recalled the night he shared with Jimin–of course, why wouldn't he?– He truly admired Jimin and the way he kept the younger in his arms and put his needs before his own for the heated moment, left Jungkook smiling to himself until the feeling of Jimin brushing his hair back after all of that, left Jungkook's eyes to open right after. Snapping him out of his little daydream he wished to stay wandering around in forever. Because heaven knows it was far better than the truth; the truth that involved Jimin recalling Hyunwon every second.
Jungkook finally sat up and once he took a quick glance around the room in a second, his eyes met with a white note sitting on the bedside table. His eyes observed it further until he leaned in to read the words over it.
"Sorry I left you alone, my love. I wasn't feeling stable after, so today will be one of those days again. I would love to find a way to control myself around you, but it's very hard for me to do so at times. I will see you later on tonight. Don't fall asleep before I get there!
By the way, your meals are in the fridge. I love you."
"One of those days..." Jungkook thought and let out an exhale. "Who is he going to eat alive now?" Jungkook then thought back at the sight of Jimin covered in the blood of an innocent person just smudged all over his lips, cold hands, and who could forget the blood just dripping from Jimin's shirt? This was enough to send a shiver running down the boy's spine just thinking back at such a gruesome sight. In fact, he didn't think he was over the sight of it. The amount of damage Jimin would do without the love of his life right by his side, worried Jungkook and made him anxious to even think about leaving again.
Jungkook then got up from the bed and finally looked up at the book; taunting him over the shelf for as long as he could remember. The boy hesitated as he stood in place and longed to move his body forward, but was this something he longed to face? What were the truths that hid within this book that caused him to become so anxious? Jungkook wanted to become a coward at that moment, but he knew he couldn't hold back anymore. He needed to find out more about Hyunwon; more of his flaws and his differences just so Jungkook's restless mind could be put to rest for once.
Jungkook now allowed his curiosity to take control for the moment and before he knew it, he began to walk towards the shelf. He looked at the book growing closer and closer and before he knew it, he could reach out and touch it now. The hard textured cover left Jungkook drowning in his anxiety. He began to overthink about Jimin walking in any second, but the more he stood there and wasted more seconds touching the binding of the book, assured him that Jimin wasn't going to come back until the sun was fully set.
Jungkook let out an exhale before picking out the book, holding it in his weak hands, and dropping onto the one-seated couch Jimin would always sit in. Just as he opened the book to the first few pages, he was instantly greeted to a photograph of Jimin and what appeared to be Hyunwon together. Jungkook knew he had to brace himself for what came next, but he couldn't help but to grow jealous about a man who wasn't even alive anymore, but still managed to take Jimin all for himself beyond the grave.
Jungkook anxiously turned the page until he found the very first few entries which were written way before Jungkook showed up at The Raven Hotel.
Every night I think about him. It's been so long but to me it feels as if he was just here a day ago and left me by the morning. Seokjin tells me I'm losing my mind, Hoseok is still trying to kill me and free himself... normally things like those would make me laugh but tonight; in this endless night, I can't help but to think about him longer than any other hour that would just slip by... will I ever find someone who will fill in this gap within my heart?
It's been so long... so long since I felt him. It still feels as if I've just been waiting for him to come back. Isn't that insane? The way he would smile and embody a cute and small bunny...oh do I wish I could take a step back to prevent him from leaving me... in a way, he's still here, right? Will I ever find love as good as that? Will I ever find him in another and see that our love wasn't the end of it all but just the beginning?
Hyunwon, I miss you every single day...
Jungkook tilted his head after reading the very first page and continued to read ahead, hoping to find anything that seemed different about Hyunwon, but all of the entries seemed the same. They were written to make Hyunwon as perfect as ever. Of course, that was only how Jimin truly saw the late man in his own eyes.
As Jungkook read over the pages of Jimin mentioning how perfect Hyunwon was over and over again, he suddenly reached a long page that had every line filled with something else. Jungkook took a quick scan of the page with his desperate gaze and suddenly noticed that this was the entry written the day of Jungkook's arrival that grim day within The Raven Hotel.
