Chapter 49: Drenched in Blood
From the very moment Jungkook's arms loosened around his mother, he looked at her and couldn't help but to smile and cover his face. Never knowing how great it felt to open up to someone who knew him better than anyone else.
Jimin was right all along. Jungkook couldn't help but to think of his partner; sitting alone in that same room as he awaited his Jungkook's return. This left the boy to wonder what Jimin could be up to at a moment like this. Would he be waiting? Crying? Screaming and throwing a fit? Would he murder many in a second or would he just be sitting in the room and counting the seconds until he was graced with pure euphoria? Jungkook didn't want to believe the first few options and went with the very last. He knew Jimin better and knew that the man he loved, wouldn't become such a monster when his partner left him alone for a while.
After his mother reached an understanding with him, Jungkook felt as if he should stay a while longer with his mother and Namjoon. Not knowing how Jimin would react was what made Jungkook hesitate on his return. In every way, Jungkook did love his partner. From his delicate words rolling off his plump lips, to the caring gentleness he kept around the boy and hid his true strength every time he hugged him, made love to him, or even held his hands at times where they would do nothing but talk about anything.
Jungkook sat over the couch and enjoyed having tea with his mother and Namjoon. A thought like this always seemed so unattainable, but now that he had it, Jungkook couldn't help but to smile every second his mother spoke in his presence. He was finally happy in his life and now that he began to build trust within his mother and Namjoon again, he didn't regret leaving Jimin one bit!
On the other hand, there was a familiar sensation that ran around in the pit of his stomach. The thought that he had no idea what Jimin was up to or what he was feeling was what left Jungkook thinking about him in the back of his mind. In the back of his cleared up mind, he always kept Jimin in his thoughts and wondered about him. Of course, there was no reason not to, Jungkook was in love with Jimin now that he would always keep the man in mind. Although, at times those thoughts weren't always about love, they were thoughts surrounding his curiousity. His curiosity about what Jimin could be doing at a time like this. His reaction to everything was very vital to the way Jungkook would see him.
"So, the trip turned out very well" the mother went on, but Jungkook only heard a few words into the conversation as his mind began to step in and out while he thought about Jimin. He couldn't tell when his mother even began to speak!
It was like his mind tuned out his mother's voice as he wondered what Jimin was up to. Was he willing to leave his mother and Namjoon so early? Jungkook was beginning to worry, Jimin could handle being alone right? At the end of the day, he promised to return and Jungkook had plans to do just as that! So there was no need to worry. Jungkook wanted to live in the moment and catch up with his mother and Namjoon, but with Jimin clouding up his mind, Jungkook couldn't find himself doing so.
There was that feeling. That sudden feeling that left him yearning for Jimin at a moment of happiness. He wanted to share such a moment with Jimin, but he knew better not to drag him over here. Jungkook worried about the man and wondered what he was up to until his mind replayed his weird dream in his head again.
"It's all in my head..." Jungkook thought and closed his eyes for the moment and leaned back. "He's doing well... as long as I don't see him at the doorstep, I'll be fine! He must be handling it well and I'm just overreacting! I-"
"Jungkook, are you okay?" Namjoon wondered and looked at the boy, instantly causing the mother to look over to her son as well.
"Oh! Of course I am... I was only thinking to myself that's all..." Jungkook promised as the conversation went on. This time, Jungkook didn't want to tune his mother's voice out now and seemed to silence his thoughts about Jimin for a bit. Only for a while of course until he was ready to return to him soon. "Just an hour... and then I'll return to Jimin..." Jungkook promised himself, but that was a promise he ended up losing in seconds.
Jungkook lost himself in the moment. He smiled and laughed talking to his mother and catching up with her as Namjoon sat there and made every moment interesting as well. It was a moment Jungkook didn't want to take for granted. After hours and a hours has passed, the sun was setting and Jungkook finally looked up at the time and flinched seeing that he spent the whole day without even thinking of returning to his Jimin.
"The day went by so quickly!" Jungkook called out as his mother checked the time over her wrist watch and nodded her head.
"It's going to get dark soon, I've heard there will be another rainstorm tonight!" Namjoon mentioned before looking towards the young boy right after. "Hey, do you need a ride back to your place? It's going to get dark pretty soon!"
"Ah, don't worry about it... I should leave right now just to return before the storm hits," claimed Jungkook before he stood up and stretched right after. "I appreciate the offer, but I could use a little walk! I've eaten so much here... thank you, Namjoon. We should eat together some other time!"
"Just stop by and I'll be here!" Namjoon mentioned. Watching Jungkook smile as he turned around to hug his mother goodbye.
"I'm so glad we talked about this, I will visit you all soon!" Jungkook mentioned and hugged Namjoon before he walked to the entry of the door and slipped on his shoes.
"Stay safe!" Namjoon called out and watched Jungkook quickly slip on his shoes, tie it, and finally race out of the house. Leaving the mother to smile happily by just knowing that they were able to resolve such an issue that harmed them so much before. But of course, she knew that they two had a long way to go before things were to return to the way that they were before.
Jungkook watched the sky turn into a lovely pink and orange along the horizon. It was almost hard to believe that sunsets like these were rare for him now that he was locked up in one place. Jungkook stopped running and took his time to admire the nature around him before the storm. He watched the sun slowly slide down the sky as he tried to steady his breathing. The boy walked down the familiar streets and finally reached the silent neighborhood.
What almost felt like whispers warning him to return home, Jungkook didn't think about it too much. He kept walking forward and didn't even wonder how Jimin would react at all. He smiled to himself and admired the way the calm wind began to brush past him a bit quicker now.
"Jimin is fine... I'm just thinking too much..." Jungkook continued on; basking in the beauty of the outside and inhaled as much as he could just to take up the moment until his eyes latched onto the grim hotel up ahead. "Jimin is fine..." Jungkook repeated to himself as he finally stopped in place at the sight of the building and before he knew it, he began to pick up his pace towards the hotel.
Now, he was running towards the hotel. For some reason, he feared seeing Jimin's reaction after leaving him alone for a whole day. Jungkook would have figured to build the man's trust by planning out just hours away at first, but a whole day? Jungkook wanted to believe Jimin would be okay, right? He just had to be.
As the many questions filled his mind, Jungkook grew closer and closer to the hotel until he pushed through the double doors at the entry and looked around to see that no one was there. Not even Seokjin. Jungkook was curious as to where Seokjin was at a time like this especially since he was supposed to be at the front desk at all times. The idea of him missing from his spot was concerning, but also understandable since he tended to step out from it and see Hoseok or he was given the duty to drain a few guests.
The boy rushed to the elevator and finally stepped in once the doors opened. His heart raced anxiously to see Jimin as he pressed the button to the sixth floor already. The doors closed and the distorted song played once again, leaving Jungkook to smile to himself, happy to know that he fulfilled his promise. He didn't return at the best time, but he was glad to know that he returned anyways and the thought was what seemed to count in Jungkook's book.
Waiting to reach the sixth floor felt like ages compared to before. The boy was no longer anxious once he knew his partner was going to be waiting for him in the room; happy to see him after such a long day. Jungkook began to think of the many things he could do with Jimin like talking about everything that happened and of course, giving him many kisses and gentle hugs. This was his first thought when it came to returning to his partner.
Instantly, the elevator chimed on the sixth floor and his heart couldn't beat at a calm pace. He was excited to see Jimin but also, a little curious to know how he would react to seeing Jungkook after a long time. Only now, Jungkook was about to find out.
His footsteps echoed along the vacant and grim halls and the cold air around him grew thick; almost making him wish he could feel the outside breeze once more. Jungkook smiled to himself and called out Jimin's name, breaking through the loud shrieks of silence filling his ears.
"Jimin! Jimin, I'm back! Just as promised!" Jungkook called out happily until he reached the room he shared with his partner. Instantly, he turned the knob to the door that was left opened and finally stepped in to call out to his partner once more. "Jimi-"
He froze. His eyes latched onto Jimin sitting over the ground; pressing his forehead against his knee caps and hugging his own knees within the dimmed room where only the lamp up ahead was lit up.
"Jimin!" Jungkook called out happily and as soon as he approached the man, Jimin dropped his hands and revealed the amount of blood smudged over his whole mouth leading to his chin, his cold and delicate hands along with his whole white dress shirt that was now drenched in blood down the middle.
Jimin's eyes beamed in red vibrance through his tears and his mouth was dripping in red crimson. His neck had bloody hand marks over it as if he himself touched his own neck to soothe the pain after drinking blood. His eyes couldn't help but to fix onto Jungkook's and finally begin to cry at the sight of him.
"Jimin... did you..." Jungkook asked and automatically regretted it just knowing well that the answer was right in front of him. He gulped at the sight of the man who was already in silent tears. Just how insane did Jimin become while he was gone?
"My raven... my sweet little raven..." Jimin whispered with the pain of his voice weighing him down each second he looked at the boy in front of him. So of course, he looked away and continued to speak when he didn't become so weak just staring into the eyes of the younger. "Is... it possible to die of a broken heart? It feels just like this; when my mother left me to be with my father... and when... he... left me. Right when I told you to stay, you... you chose to leave me too...just like all of them."
