"It's time to begin the heist, you can go, Raven. Everyone's ready."

"It's time to show everyone what we're made of."

I go in the casino, it's as cramped as I thought it would be. I need to act quick, I could be recognized fast with that outfit.

"He's here! It's the thief, so you really came to steal the painting. You have a lot of nerve for a petty thief."

"I'm no petty thieves, I'm a fighter of justice."

The moment I say those words, the light turn-off. Allowing me to escape like a shadow. I manage to find my way behind the scene, everything is rigged like we thought. This place is an insult to fairness.

"Raven, the painting is two floor above you. It's well guarded, so I sent Libra ahead to take care of distracting them. I don't know how long he'll be able to stop them."

"I'll head there as fast as I can."

Some can see me, but none can see the true identity behind my mask. My black cape cover my traces, as I sneak around the lights of the casino. A shadow shouldn't be exposed to light that much.

"Raven, we have a problem. I sent Fog to scout the place, but the painting isn't here anymore."

"Any clues on where it is?"

"I don't, it wasn't supposed to go like that. We should retreat and think later."

"After all we did? I spent my life searching for this painting, I'm not going to stop now."

"There's really nothing stopping you, Raven... try to go to the basement then. And be careful."

"Gotcha."

Our enemies are smart, but they didn't plan that I would be the thief. They can try all they want, they can't stop me. I head to the basement, there are guards on the floor. Someone went ahead of me. As I get closer to see, I recognize a familiar face.

"Dove, what are you doing here?"

"Raven, this is my way to show my justice."

She takes out her sword and point it at me.

"Don't stop me, Raven, you can't."

Always a troublesome girl, I can't really challenge her, I don't even have a sword.

"Raven! You need to flee, the police is here. They're going to the basement."

They're troublesome too, but that's what make the heist interesting.

"Dove, I am obligated to refuse your duel. The police will be here soon."

"Is my father with them?"

"I don't know, probably."

"You're lucky, Raven, I spare this time. I need to see him."

She goes upstairs to see the police, she's too bold for her own good.

I continue in the basement, I won't leave before having the painting.

Finally, resting in the deepest part of the casino. The painting, "La Reine. I was about to take it, but it's a fake! Someone put it here on purpose.

"It was a fake, the painting in the basement is a fake."

"What? I'm sorry Raven, I should have investigated more before sending you here."

I'll need to find a way to get out of here, but the police came, it's too late. They got Dove too!

"Raven, They... Others... Run... Commu-"

The communication cut.

"Finally I got you Raven, the legendary thief."

I guess it's the end, our last heist concluded in a failure. He points his gun at me, so it's true. Your life flash before your eyes before death.

It wasn't always like that.

10 years prior, I was- Wait, it's not the moment for that!

The police is here and they got Dove. But something even more surprising happens. One of the member of the mafia comes and greet the chief of the police.

"Leader, the other two are captured."

"You are the leader of the mafia?"

"Yes, who would have thought, right? I was really annoyed when you started doing things that I couldn't control. I was happy when you stopped the other mafia, but now it's too late."

"How could you do that? Why did you kill my parents?"

"Your parents? Who are you exactly?"

"I'm the son of the peoples that had "La Reine", you killed them for it!"

"You think I remember about every insect I kill? Of course not! I just took what I wanted, whatever the means are."

"You're a monster."

Dove take advantage of a moment of inattention from him to try to attack, but his guards stopped her before she could do anything.

"Still too weak, I thought you would be more skilled by now, Rose."

"How do you-?"

"I'm your father, you can't hide anything from me."

He knew about Rose? So that mean that...

"Is that how you know where we lived?"

"That? Oh no, I had someone else tell me."

Eirika comes out from behind him.

"Justice? You..." 

I can't believe what it means, did she really betray us?

"I'm sorry Roland, I didn't mean for it to go that far. They said nothing bad would happen to you if I did like they asked."

I don't even know what to say, words don't come to my mind. It's just too hard to believe, was my sister with them for real?

"I'll spare you and your friends' life, but you'll stay locked for a while. That's what you get for opposing me."

So that's how it ends, locked in jail. Until the end.

"Told ya we would be cellmates."

"Silver? What are you doing here? We're in a whole other city!"

"The old jail didn't have good beds, those one suck too actually. So tell me, who was the traitor?"

"Eirika..."

It still pains me to say those words.

"I don't know that name, it's boring."

She looks at me with big eyes.

"That's it? You stop?"

"What do you want me to do?"

"I thought that you fought for Justice. There's a guy, doing a lot of bad things, put your friends in jail and you let him walk freely?"

"But what can I do?"

She punches me, it hurts goddammit. 

"That's not about what, it's how! You need to get out of here, free your friends and fight back!"

"Why do you want to help me so much?"

"Because you're frustrating, you remind me of me before. I was weak, I hate weaklings."

"What do you mean you were weak?"

"I was scared, I could have done so much, but I waited for my dumbass of a sister. I waited for her to live my life and now she's the main character!"

"I really don't understand half of what you're saying."

She slapped me once more, can't she stop?

"Ouch! It hurts."

"You're the main character, you can make choices. Some don't have this freedom, so enjoy this freedom."

"You're not doing anything either and staying here."

"I enjoy my life, I chose to be here. It's the best place to see everything unfold. But it's not about the situation you're in, it's about the situation you want to be. Do you want to be a spectator of this story, or the protagonist?"

I'm not sure I understand everything she says, but she's right. I can't stay here, my job isn't finished yet.

"I need to find a way to leave!"

I hear sounds coming from the hallway, it seems like sounds of fighting. After a moment of silence I hear footsteps getting closer.

"Are you alright Roland?"

"Lucie? What are you doing here?"

"Sorry, I'm late."

She opens the door of the cell I'm in, there's so much I want to say.

"The chief of the police-"

"Yeah, he's the leader of the Royal Flush. Eirika told me."

"Eirika? Where is she?"

"She was at the police station with him, I'm sorry, it was too dangerous to do something."

"I understand, where are the others?"

"There's another row of cells deeper underground, they're all there."

She hands me the keys of the cells.

"Go on, I'll make sure nobody will come."

"Thanks Lucie. And thanks to you too, Silver."

"Your story isn't stopping here. Go on."

I nod at her and go to the cells underground. It's way darker in here. I manage to see Emel in one of the cells.

"Fog, are you alright?"

"Yeah, I'm sorry we failed. I should have been more careful."

"What do you mean failed? It's only the beginning!"

I open the cell and take her hand to help her stand up. They were in a hurry to lock us, we're still in our uniform.

"All of that wouldn't have been possible without you. Now it's time to get our revenge."

"You're right, that's why you're our leader, Raven. I saw Libra, he's deeper in here!"

I follow her and see Leo in one of the cells.

"Leo, are you alright?"

"It could be better, it's such a disgrace or a detective to end up like that."

"Then make up for it, we're not over yet, Libra."

He looks at me and smiles before standing up, he then proceeds to take keys out of his pocket and open the door of the cell.

"You had that since the beginning?"

"I'm a detective, I need to always be prepared. I just lost hope for a moment. Despite how I act, I'm still a rookie I suppose."

"We have one more person to save."

We go deeper, at the end of the hallway I see Rose, looking at the ground devastated. 

"Dove. Are you okay?"

"Raven..."

She looks at the three of us, she really looks bad, like she lost the fire in her eyes.

"Can you leave Roland and me alone please?"

They both look at me with concern, I nod my head to signal them it will be alright. After they are far enough to not hear us, I finally break the silence.

"Are you okay, Rose?"

"Why are you here? I don't want to see you."

I open the cell and get closer to her.

"Rose, it will be alright."

"No it won't! I left you all, it's too late for me now."

"Why do you say that?"

"Justice... It's such an empty word. What am I supposed to do? I knew it was my father for so long, so I thought I could do it alone. It was so foolish of me."

"Is that why you left?"

"I don't even know... When that fire started and we left, I was scared we lost Leo. I wasn't ready for that, I didn't want to lose him, or you, or anyone! I thought that justice would be fair, that we wouldn't need to ruin any lives for it... But I was stupid."

"So you want to give up?"

"I already gave up."

It pains me to see her like that, if I tried to do something, maybe things would have been different. But now it's over, so there's no need of thinking about it. I hold her in my arms. She starts crying the moment I hold her.

"I've had enough... I just want to stop everything and stay here."

"Rose, the fight isn't over. Emel, Leo and I will return to steal the painting. Will you come with us?"

"Do you really want me? What can I do? I'm just a useless girl."

"Maybe you are, but don't you want to change that? Don't you want to be the fighter of justice your mother always wanted you to be?"

She takes a step back from me, she's in an internal stuggle. It's a fight that she has to finish herself.

"You're not alone, Rose. We're all here for you, I'm here for you."

For the first after a while, she smiles.

"You're more pretty with a smile on your face."

"You really think so, Roland? I'll smile more when we'll finish this."

"So you'll come help us?"

"Yes, I want to fight until the end, for my friends, for justice, for my mother, and..."

She suddenly blushes and look very shy, I was about to say something but before I knew it, she put her lips on mine.

"And for you too, Roland. Let's join the others."

I'm still not sure about how to feel with that. But it wasn't bad for a first kiss I guess. We find the other two at the entrance of the hallway.
For some reason, Emel is very close to Leo. She almost has her body pressed against him .

"You should gain some weight, the outfit would look even better on you like that."

"Are those two together now?"

Emel notices us and her face looks very red suddenly.

"What? No! It was his outfit, he lost weight, it doesn't look good now. Anyway, are you back on our team now?"

"Yes, I'm ready now."

All the four of us are ready now. The night isn't over yet, the Rave is going to steal the painting for real this time.
