My parents are trying to ruin my life.

Ok so I'm about to promote from 8th grade to move on to being a freshman. My parents don't let me go to school dances because I'm "too young." To be honest I don't want to go to the dances anyway. But my Promotion dance is coming up and my mom said I could go. I just couldn't dance with any boys. (Fine by me) today I was in their room talking about Promotion Dance and my dad says he has to think about if I can go. My mom tells him to talk to her about it and he says not while I'm in the room. Here's how that went.
Me: *gets off of bed and begins to walk out*
Dad: Your leaving?
Me: Yes. Because I want a answer and apparently I'll never get one if I'm in the room.
~Later~
Dad: Kayla!!!
Me: Yes?
Dad: you can go but me and your mom are going to be chaperones
Me (externally): Ok
Me (Internally): NOOOO THEY DONT TRUST ME AND ITS GONNA BE SUPER AWKWARD WITH MY FRIENDS AND THEIR JUST GONNA BUG ME AND THEIR BOTH GOING?!?!?!?! WHAT IS HAPPENING!!!!!!!!!
I mean it's not like I'm going to go dance with any boys. I'll be with my friends the whole time. Anyone ever had this problem? I hope I'm not alone.
