•In their seventh year's summer, James just realises that he'll ask Lily out, just one last time, and if she says no, he'll leave her.

•He asks her, but before he can say anything:

"Hey Evans-"

"NO JAMES, I WILL NOT GO OUT WITH YOU!" 

"Ok. I'll leave you alone." His shoulders droop and he's trying really hard to not cry.

•James, heartbroken, decides to leave her. Sirius is really conflicted, and Remus doesn't know whether to praise him for respecting her wishes, or to feel sad.

• Lily tells her friends happily and is happy for the rest of the day. Then, she realises that she actually misses him.

•James is distraught, and depressed. And everyone can see it. he doesn't say a word to her.

•Sirius and Remus just can't take it anymore, it's already half the semester. 

•They beg James to try just one last time.

•After a lot of persuasion, he agrees.

•They're all thinking of a plan, when Lily's BFF comes up and tells James to just ask her simply. Bcuz everyone ships it. DO SOMETHING YO!

•The next day he halfheartedly asks her out and she says 'yes'. But he's so used to a 'no' that he hears her say no. Everyone just shouts at him that she said yes and he promptly faints.

•BUT LILY, YO! So he wakes up. 

•They plan it out, and go to Hogsmeade for their date and bla bla and he's really nervous...

• "So... uh... do you wanna go on a second date with me? I mean, I understand if you don't want to-"

"I'd love to"

•She leaves with a kiss- on the cheek. They got all the time in the world, they ain't about rush it up!!!!!

AND THAT LADIES AND GENTLEMEN, IS HOW I THINK THEY GOT TOGETHER!!!
