Ravenclaw

"Hello! I am Varia, the Head Girl of Ravenclaw." I smiled at the sea of faces, a few murmured 'Hello' while the rest stared at me. I sighed and then quickly continued. "So, Ravenclaw, as you might have heard while the hat was singing, is the house where all the cleverest people go. And yes, that is a word." I quickly added.

"Can we please hurry? I want to sleep." Someone in the back said.

"Oka-"

"First years! Oh, such a delight! I am the Grey Lady, the Ravenclaw ghost and-"

"Helena, can I continue?" I interrupted.

"Of course..." she -Helena- said, flustered.

"Well, that was Helena, now up the staircase, and mind your step. There may be a missing stair."

I led the first years up the spiral stair case and we at last reached a door. I knocked once, and a musical voice said "Which came first, the phoenix or the flame?"

"So, you're supposed to answer the question, and if you don't know the answer then you can call someone to help you." I told them.

I then answered the question "The answer is that a circle has no beginning"

"Well reasoned." The voice said and the door opened.

We stepped into the dormitory, which was airier than any of the Hogwarts dormitories. Graceful arced windows punctured the wall. The ceiling was domed and was painted with stars; there were tables, chairs, bookcases and a statue in a niche.

"Who is that?" someone asked, pointing to the bust.

"That is Rowena. The founder of Ravenclaw." I said proudly. "Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure"

"Okay, now everyone, go to your dorms, boys, take the stairs over there" I pointed to the other side of the room, "and girls, follow me."

After I had everyone settled in, I took a deep breath. This certainly was tough. I looked over to my sister, Aria, who was the Quidditch Captain.

I closed my eyes and slept.
