Croft Writes Sins Not Tragedies

(ZPD Police Station 11:00)

Judy sprinted inside and sighed, relieved that she wasn't late and walked to Bogo's office for debriefing on a case he had assigned. She then facepalmed as his office door was locked and the captain was obviously chewing somebody out, so that meant she had some time to kill.

"Hey, Judy!" the bunny turned around to see Officer Clawhauser, slightly jogging over to her, and when he got over to her he continued, "So, exciting time at your place last night huh?" referring to the attack.

"It's fine." Judy looked unamused.

"Who was that other guy there with you? The raccoon right?" Judy froze, and her overweight companion looked confused.

"He-- He's just a friend, he needed a place to stay and I let him stay over... That's all, yeah!" Judy slapped herself in the face mentally as she knew he wouldn't believe her.

"Hmm. You know I recognize him... wasn't he that victim of the Wilde case?" Clawhauser asked, actually interested now.

"Yeah... Why?" a hint of worry lingered in her voice.

"He could provide some evidence for us!" the male almost squealed at the thought.

"Oh shit! Hey chief!" Judy ignored that last sentence and headed to Bogo's office.

"Hopps! Hope I didn't keep you up, did I?" Bogo asked in his thick British (beautiful Idris Elba voice lol), Judy shook her head in response.

The chief scanned the file Judy was supposed to get, sighed and looked at Judy, then back at the file.

"You know, I don't think I want you running a case right now actually," Bogo commented.

"What? I'm sorry for questioning you, but why?"

"That raccoon, Rocket, is with you, is he not?" Bogo asked, in a demanding way.

Judy gulped and then answered, "Y-Yes sir"

"Hmm... and why is that?"

"He needed a place to stay, so I gave it to him." Judy was frozen and Bogo stared at her.

"Ok, well I need you to get some info off of him for that Wilde case."

"How am I supposed to do that?"

"I don't know, I've heard you can be quite.... persuasive"

The bunny gasped, Judy had done that before with a case, hence the reason she didn't have her v-card anymore. She never forgave herself for it and Bogo knew that, so it was a low blow for him to hit.

Judy sighed and replied with an angry, "Yes sir." and slumped out of her chair and headed back home to work on questioning Rocket.

Judy sighed and pushed the doors, slightly pissed and now her mind was like a magnet on the words Bogo used to downplay Rocket as just a witness. To outsiders, sure he was but for her he was more.

She just sighed and paced her walk to a slow walk, contemplating her next approach to talking to the raccoon on her couch. The bunny didn't know why, but she didn't like what she was about to do, it just felt wrong to use him for evidence.

She looked up and surveyed her surroundings, spotting a wolf looking at her subtly, when he found her gaze he stared at her and titled his head and smirked, she shook her head rapidly and returned her gaze to the concrete.

Her mind began to wonder into the dark depth of deep emotion, somehow becoming pissed as she thought of Rocket.

(Big's meeting place, AKA: the dark creepy ass alley)

Jack was getting impatient as the debriefing was taking FOREVER and he just randomly stared at a random police officer that was walking on the sidewalk opposite of her. The others were behind a dumpster, slightly whispering, but obstructed from the bunny's view.

"Yeah, yeah, don't get your panties in a bunch love. I've downed more dangerous people than him."

Henry laughed and said, "You? No, let the boss say it himself."

The polar bear stepped to the side and revealed a tiny mouse on the ground, Mr. Big.

His small raspy voice rang out, "This job isn't going to be easy, if he knows your there, you're already dead, you need to run silent, run deep, be quick and kill any witnesses. Got it?"

"Bloody hell you're makin this sound hard ain't ya?" Jack chuckled but was then met with silence. "Just..." he sighed "get me my stuff and I'll do the job, today if you'd like."

"Today WOULD be nice!" the mouse yelled. "Here's his location, and your weapon," Henry handed him both items and the wolf smirked.

"Ha! This guy better be a challenge, I need some excitement!"

"Don't get too cocky, there's a reason we need you for this."

(Judy's House)

*SLAM*

"Fuck!" Judy threw her bag across the room, just missing the confused Rocket.

"Woah woah! Jesus sweetheart what the hell happened?" Rocket asked, wanting to eat his words ('sweetheart really' he thought)

Judy didn't respond just sighed and walked over to her room and laid on her bed, mind stuck on the conversation she had with her police chief. She looked over to the doorway, where Rocket now stood and limped slightly over to her and sat down next to her.

"You ok?" He asked warmly with a concerned look on his face.

"Nothin, well not nothin, just I don't wanna talk about it," Judy replied coldly.

"Ok. Just checkin, if you ever wanna talk, you know where to find me," Rocket now had a small smile on his face, which Judy had never seen. This side was odd to see in Rocket. This side only being seen when he was with Lylla back on Halfworld.

Judy nodded, still having a blank look on her face, she laid on her side trying to fall asleep and drown her thoughts.

(5 hours later, 4:00)

Judy was thrown awake by the sound of something slamming into her wall and yells of pain, still slightly dazed from her slumber she didn't alert to danger quickly. In reality Rocket was met with a foe he knew, Jack Croft, he knew the wolf fighting him could beat him, just one on one, he needed a weapon. No words were said between the raccoon and wolf, just punches and slamming each other into walls. Rocket's knee didn't bug him as much as he thought and he was gaining the advantage as he had seemingly broken something in the enemy's left arm, as he resorted to using his right instead.

Judy then came to her senses when the door to her room was torn open by the two, with Rocket being shoved into it, both were covered in blood and sweat and Judy found an opening and sprinted into the wolf, staggering the two as Jack fell on his ass.

"Judy! Get the fuck out of here-" Rocket yelled, only stopping to throw another punch at Jack.

Croft knew what he was doing however and flipped the bunny over, slamming her head into the wall, resulting with a yelp of pain from the small Judy. Rocket, seeing this, turned all attention on helping her get out of there. Rocket continued the fight, no one winning in particular, the raccoon bolted under the bed, where he knew Judy kept her spare, grabbing it and shooting Jack point plant in the chest. Rocket didn't waste any time and kicked the wolf over and returned to Judy's side helping her up, she had a lot of bruises as did he and they helped each other up.

"No- No hospital." Rocket said through his panting.

"What? Why, we just barely got out of here alive," Judy said with her voice dripping with winces and worry.

"They'll keep coming, we need to get out of this city, you got only folks we can go to?" Rocket asked, grabbing the gun Jack tried firing at Rocket when he first came in, a M15 AR, standard for these type of missions in his line of work.

"Y-Yeah, my parents place, you know where the carrot farm is? Off the highway 44?"

"Oh yeah, good thinkin, you think they'll let a blood covered stranger on their couch?" Rocket joked, even though he knew he read the room wrong.

Both winced in pain as they got the front door open, walking over to the car, "Hey, I'll drive, you got worse injuries than me," Rocket persuaded.

"How? You got thrown through a door and probably shot?!"

"Please, can you yell at me in the car, we don't need anymore attention then we already have, the police have probably been called."

"I'm not here to argue, just get us the hell out of this place."

The raccoon and Judy talked about nothing in particular, staying away from the incriminating stuff, as Rocket for some reason stopped the car at a random house in the jungle region.

"Where are we, why are we stopped?" Judy asked, urgently as the raccoon next to her got out and jogged inside.

He then returned with a bag filled with medical supplies and a automatic rifle, "This is my house, we needed some things. Sorry, should've told you."

"It's fine, just keep driving."

(A/N I'm sorry Jack's arrival was kinda quick but I wanted to push the notion that Rocket needed to get out of the city, and the fight would've made this chapter 20 pages long so yeah, I was just in Dallas for the last few days and my mind has been swirling with ideas and I have a pretty good idea and name for the next one)
