Chapter 27 : Mr Stark, I Don't Feel So Good
Everyone stood and came together. Mantis helped Quill walk and Peter pulled Tony up.
"Something's happening." Mantis pointed out before she, literally, faded away. Like ashes from a fire. Quill looked to where she previously was then over to Drax when he called his name.
"Quill?" Drax too, turned to ashes and flew away with the wind.
"Steady, Quill." Tony added, gaining Star-Lord's attention.
"Oh, man." Quill gasped as he joined his friends. (Y/N) placed her hands over her mouth as each of her friends disappeared to who knows where. She walked over to where Quill had just stood, in hope that she was just having a terrible dream, a horrific nightmare.
"Tony." Dr Strange called. "...There was no other way..." He defended seconds before he disappeared.
"Mr Stark?" Peter Parker called as he stumbled a little. Tony looked to him with pleading eyes, begging that he wouldn't leave to. "I don't feel so good." He said as he looked up.
"You're all right." Tony assured.
"I don't... I don't know what's happening. I don't know..." Peter whimpered as he fell forward into Tony's arms, holding him tight. "I don't want to go. I don't want to go, sir. Please. Please, I don't want to go. I don't want to go." He begged, as if he had a choice. He cried in fear, in fear of having to lose someone else he loved. He was young, he was a kid, he didn't deserve this. Tony lowered him down. Peter looked to him. "I'm sorry..." He whispered softly, before the wind took him away. Tony fell slightly and looked around, confused and scared.
"He did it." Nebula said from behind him. She stepped closer to (Y/N), whose tears fell silently off her blank yet furious expression. Tony Stark sat still with his over his mouth. Confused, afraid, broken. Dr Strange was right.
They were indeed, in the Endgame.
