"I was not alone in the universe after all." Ego said before a few seconds of silence. Peter, Drax, (Y/N) and Gamora all listened and took in the information that Ego explained. 

"When did you meet my mother?" Peter asked cautiously. Ego faced him and smiled. 

"Not long after." He said before he led the group of people over to another large 3D diagram. "It was with Meredith that I first experienced love. I... called her my river lily. And from that love, Peter... you. I have searched for you for so long. And when I heard of a man from Earth who held . an Infinity Stone in his hand without dying... I knew you must be the son of the woman I loved." 

"If you loved her, why did you leave her?" Peter asked, clearly not convinced. Ego looked at him sadly then to the floor. Peter continued his questioning gaze.

Later that day, when the sun began to set, (Y/N) and Gamora walked around the building and looked at the carvings on the walls that reached up to the high ceiling. 

"This place is beautiful but for some reason, it gives me the creeps." (Y/N) said to the green assassin. 

"I agree, somethings not right here. Ego's hiding something." Gamora replied to the winged woman. 

"Yeah, but what?" (Y/N) asked before she opened the front doors to reveal Drax and Mantis sitting on the steps of the building. They both looked up to the two warriors then Mantis looked away. It seemed Drax and Mantis were talking then stopped once (Y/N) and Gamora came. 

"What's going on?" Gamora asked. 

"This gross bug lady is my new friend." Drax said as he gestured to Mantis. 

"I'm learning many things, like I'm a pet and ugly." Mantis said with a smile. 

"You're not ugly. Drax?!" (Y/N) said as she gave Drax a dissapproving look. 

"What are you talking about?" Drax asked as he gestured to Mantis again. 

"Mantis, can you show us where we'll be staying?" Gamora asked. 

Mantis led the three of them over some small hills while (Y/N) flew a few metres above. "Why are there no other beings on this planet?" Gamora asked. 

"The planet is Ego. A dog would not invite a flea to live on his back."

"And you're not a flea?" (Y/N) asked as she landed. 

"I'm a flea with a purpose. I help him sleep." 

"What were you about to say to Drax before we walked out?" Gamora asked as she stood in front of Mantis, blocking her path. Mantis looked to her then to Drax. She then looked over to (Y/N) and back to Gamora. 

"Nothing. Your quarters are this way." Mantis said before she walked past Gamora as if nothing happened. Gamora looked to Drax and (Y/N), showing she was clearly unconvinced. All three of them were.

"Drax, Drax, Drax! Drax! We need to talk!" Mantis aggressively shook Drax who laid asleep in bed. She shook the man by the shoulders until he finally woke up. (Y/N) slowly woke up from her slumber on the ceiling beams. 

"I'm sorry. But I like a woman with some meat on her bones." Drax said hesitantly. 

"What?" Mantis asked confused. 

"I tried to let you down easily by telling you I found you disgusting."

"No, that's not what I-" Mantis tried to stop him but was cut off by Drax leaning to the other side of the bed. He made disgusted gagging noises which further confused Mantis. 

"What are you doing?" 

"I'm imagining being with you physically." Drax explained as he continued making the retching noises. (Y/N) was fully awake as she lowered herself to the ground. 

"Drax, that's not- I don't like you like that. I don't even like the type of thing you are." 

"Hey! There's no need to get personal."

"Listen! Ego's gotten exactly what he wanted. I should have told you guys earlier." Mantis said as she faced around to (Y/N) then back to Drax. "I'm stupid. You're all in danger." 

"What do you mean? ... Where's Quill?" (Y/N) asked. 

"He's with Ego! We have to stop Ego before he completely has Peter on his side!" Mantis then began to explain everything that was going on with Ego and what his plan was. Then the doors of the room were opened and Gamora ran up to Mantis and held her up by the neck on the wall. Nebula ran in after her. 

"Who are you people?! What is this place?!" Gamora yelled. 

"Gamora, let her go!" Drax tried to intervene but Gamora kept Mantis in the air. 

"The bodies in the caverns... Who are they?!" Gamora asked firmly before Mantis' antenna started to glow. 

"You are scared." Mantis said with a shaky voice. Gamora looked at her for a second. She dropped her and stood back with a shaking breath. 

"What did she do to me?!" Gamora asked afraid. 

"She already told us everything." (Y/N) explained. Mantis stood up. 

"The bodies," she said, "are his children."

"We need to find Peter now and get off this damn planet." Gamora ordered. 

"Ego will have won him to his side by now. He has a way of-"

"Then we just go." Nebula suggested. 

"No! He's our friend." Gamora disagreed. 

"All any of you do is yell at each other. You are not friends." Nebula said as she rolled her eyes. 

"You're right. We're family." Drax said as he looked to (Y/N) and Gamora. "We leave no one behind." Then to Mantis. "Except maybe you." He gestured to Neubla. 

"Oh my god." Nebula rolled her eyes again.
