Heroes

"You murdered us."

That, that was quite blunt. Izuku was pretty appalled. It took a few moments to regain his composure, "Well, uh, sorry."

"You don't get it, you murdered us."

What doesn't he get? Izuku frowned, "I did, and I know now."

Eri inspected him, her small stature making Izuku's heart hurt because she didn't deserve to die so young. "Yeah, you. The you that doesn't exist anymore."

What? "What?"

"I know who you are."

~~~
"And the test has commenced!" Izuku watched as his friends raced to paint the teachers with paintballs. They each had a paint gun, a knife that was drenched in paint, and paint grenades. It was different from Nedzu's original plan, but Izuku didn't mind.
"Any of their strategies catch your eye yet, Nedzu?" Izuku asked, staring intently at the screen.
"The blonde-haired kid," Nedzu grinned, "Kaminari Denki, I believe."
All For One nodded, "I see why. He stayed behind, choosing to analyze the situation first."
It was only now that Izuku noticed that, "That was a really good decision."
"He's also putting paint on the ground," Nedzu sipped his tea then laughed, delighted, "He's making the teachers step in his paint. All we said was that—"
Everything snapped into place, "That you had to put the paint on the teachers... There was never a specific way."
Nedzu nodded, "Indeed. It looks like we have a thinker in the hero course."
All For One hummed, content, "It sure does."
~~~

"I'm sure you would've made a great hero, Midoriya," Shimura Nana had said to him that day. Izuku was pretty happy that day, thanks to that comment. He didn't think he'd be running into the woman again, but it turns out he was wrong.

"Oh, hi, Shimura-san!" Izuku greeted.

"Hello, Midoriya," Shimura replied, "Today's weather sure is amazing, isn't it?"

"Yeah!" Izuku agreed. The weather was stunning today. Clear skies, a sunny sun, and no random villain attacks. It seemed like a perfect day. "What are you doing on this fine day?"

"Well, I was going to visit my grandson."

Izuku asked, "You have a grandson?"

"Yes, I believe he's a year or two older than you," Shimura said, "I think it'd be nice for you to meet him. He's always wanted to be a hero, like you."

Izuku hummed, "Maybe it'd be nice. So, can I meet him?"

Shimura nodded, "Why don't we visit together?"

Izuku sputtered, "A-ah, is that really okay? I, I wasn't invited —"

Shimura smiled tightly, "I'm sure they'll love that Tenko has a new friend."

Izuku merely nodded, "Okay, then!"

And that's how he got in this situation, of meeting Shimura Tenko, aka, Shigaraki Tomura. Izuku didn't know what to expect. Shigaraki Tomura was the successor of All For One, however, now that All For One is good, Tomura isn't a villain.

Or Izuku hopes he isn't, anyway.

"Hi, I'm Midoriya Izuku," Izuku said, "And you are?"

Tenko fiddled with his hands, a nervous habit, "Shimura Tenko."

"So, what do you like to do, Shimura-kun?"

"Y-you can call me Tenko..." Tenko said, "It must be confusing with all the Shimuras..."

Izuku waved it off, "I can deal with it. So, Shimura-kun, what would you like to do?"

"D-do you like legos?"

Izuku grinned, "I love legos."

Tenko visibly brightened up, a smile placed on his features, "Have you seen that set..."

Izuku listened to him ramble all day.

The next day was rather uneventful. The weekends in this world were always uneventful when Hisashi was out, and Izuku didn't even know what Hisashi was doing. A part of him, a part that dreaded Hisashi, didn't necessarily want to know what Hisashi was doing, but Izuku admits he was curious.

And bored.

Very, very, terribly, bored.

So, Izuku takes to his favorite place. The place that let him meet way too many people. The park. Where he met a person he didn't think he'd meet...

Overhaul?

He was seated on the bench, clenching something in his right fist, rubbing his temples.

Izuku wondered if he should approach him or not. Izuku was a master of bad ideas, so he decided to approach him. Maybe I can use Talk-No-Jutsu and get him on my side. It's better to have a villain on your side than having to fight them. "Um, are you okay, mister?"

Overhaul —Kai Chisaki?— sighed, "As okay as I can be given my situation."

Izuku tilted his head innocently, "What's your situation? A good? A bad one? Mine happens to be an okay one, I'm bored out of my mind."

"My wife cheated on me with All Might."

Izuku had to hold in his laughter. The way Overhaul said it, and the sentence itself was absurd. But Izuku held himself together for the man's sake, "Whaat?? How is that possible?"

"How did I not notice?" Overhaul groaned, "I found the documents of her planning to run away from home with him... "

Izuku frowned, "That's... Intense. What are you going to do, Mister?" Was there even a proper protocol for the situation in which your wife runs away with a criminal mastermind? Izuku doesn't think there is, and if there is, he clearly didn't catch the memo.

"I don't know..."

Izuku sighed, "Why don't you... Report her? Associating yourself with a criminal is considered a crime."

"I can't just..." Overhaul bit his lip in frustration, "Whatever, I shouldn't be asking a kid for advice."

"I'm a teen," Izuku replied, "Plus, what if I have really really good advice, huh? Just gonna ignore that?"

"Whatever advice you have, throw it at me, kid."

"I'd understand if you don't want to report her. Just act normal about the situation or have a long talk, your call, I guess," Izuku gave a small smile, "Adult stuff has never been my thing. Clashes with my... Teenage vibes."

Overhaul rolled his eyes good-naturedly, "Teenagers."

Izuku grinned, "Yes, teenagers. We'll rule the world one day."

"Won't count you out on that, kid," Overhaul said, "I'm Chisaki Kai."

"Midoriya Izuku. Nice to meet you, Chisaki-san."

"You too, kid, you too."

~~~
Izuku smiled widely. He had just gained the list for the new hero course! Class 1-A, of course. There weren't enough applicants for a class B, which has Izuku relieved. Imagine having to teach 2 hero classes? He feels bad for the teachers.
They were ranked by their places in the entrance exam.
1. Kaminari Denki
2. Bakugou Katsuki
3. Yaoyorozu Momo
4. Todoroki Shouto
5. Mina Ashido
6. Tokoyami Fumikage
7. Shinsou Hitoshi
8. Monoma Neito
9. Hagakure Toru
The hero class was pretty small, but Izuku was sure it'd grow bigger with time. He was in a meeting with the teachers, and they were deciding whether or not to give them quirks.
"I think we should give them quirks," Kayama (Midnight) said, "It should be able to keep them safe."
"The quirk thing should be a decision made by the students," Aizawa inputted, "They don't need quirks to fight. Quirks are an add-on."
"That's true," Izuku agreed, "Aizawa can teach them how to fight, he fought quirkless, after all."
"Some of them have a quirk though, what are we going to do with them?" All For One asked.
"Which ones have a quirk?" Nedzu said.
"Tokoyami Fumikage, Monoma Neito, Ashido Mina, and Shinsou Hitoshi," All For One replied, "Tokoyami has a shadow-type, Monoma and Shinsou are mental types. While Ashido is a mutant type."
Nedzu hummed, "I see. It will be the class' call for quirks or not. Regardless, they'll be trained in the art of quirked and quirkless battle."
"Are we using the same curriculum you used to use for the hero course?" Izuku asked, "The Sports Festival, USJ?"
Nedzu nodded, "That, along with a few add-ons for good PR."
"Good PR?"
"You really think we can just make heroes if the world hates them? We'll need really good PR.
And I have just the way to do it."
~~~

"Izukkun, how is the hero course like?" Ashido asked with unrivaled excitement.

"At first it's going to be a little boring because you're learning rules and stuff, but after that, it's pretty fun," Izuku didn't actually spend much time in the 'hero course'. All he had was meetings with the teachers and talks with All For One. For him, it was also his first day in this world's 'hero course'.

Hagakure smiled widely, "Man, I'm so hyped!! Are we going to get quirks or maybe—"

"I, for one, don't want a quirk," Yaoyorozu said, "What if it corrupts you and turns you into All Might, or something?"

Izuku laughed at that. What would they say if they knew that he had the exact same quirk as All Might? He really wonders.

"If I get a quirk, it'd better be cool as f*ck or I'm returning it," Katsuki said, "And I mean cool."

They made it to the humongous door of the hero course.

"Why do they even need a door this big?" Ashido asked.

"For Mutant quirks or giantification quirks," Izuku answered.

"Welcome to the hero course!" Nedzu exclaimed. "You might already know me, but I'm Principal Nedzu, and this is All For One. We're your teachers."

All For One glanced at them, "Come in and choose a seat."

"It is amazing to see so many new heroes since the Reformation," Nedzu smiled, "We're lucky to have you guys here."

Their seats were chosen and then the class got on with the rules, a quick overview of basic history, and why they were making new heroes. They introduced the new schedule and that's how the class was spent. In the end, they were given a permission slip to give to their parents if they wanted a quirk.

After that, they all went to lunch.

"That's so cool!! I wonder what quirk I would get," Hagakure said.

"Probably teleportation or something," Ashido said, "You seem like a teleporter!"

"If she were to get teleportation, that'd be OP," Kaminari commented, "Imagine how many ways you could use that?"

Meanwhile, Izuku wondered if Ashido was okay. Her quirk was rejected, not wanted by All For One, and then Izuku decided to put her in the same classroom as him? Izuku admits that it was a bad decision.

"Hagakure? Getting a cool quirk? In your dreams," Katsuki scoffed.

"I thought you were nice, Bakugo!"

~~~
Izuku was just browsing through the web when he heard wind chimes. Looking around, he realized there were no wind chimes nearby. "Huh? What?"
Hisashi called him, "Izuku!"
Izuku got up and left his room. In the living room, there they were. Hisashi and All Might.
"Izuku, you're set to inherit—"
All Might walked up to him and the wind chimes grew louder and louder. "You were the kid that had my quirk. You have my quirk."
Hisashi's eyes narrowed, "You already have One for All? How is that possible?"
"It isn't."
Izuku dodged a surprise attack from All Might, which had him panicking because this was All Might attacking him. Izuku ran as fast as possible to his room and locked the door. He knew the door wasn't going to hold.
Running to the window, he unlatched it and climbed out. The door broke open. "You're not escaping!"
Izuku powered up One for All and jumped down the fire escape. He quickly vanished into the city.
All Might cursed, "We need to find him."
~~~

Izuku found himself walking down a very familiar route to Katsuki's house. Mustering up courage, he knocked on the door.

"Deku?" Katsuki opened the door almost immediately. He let Izuku in, "What happened?"

"I..." Was kicked out? Ran away from home? Izuku hesitated, "Ran away from home."

Katsuki's surprise was shown plainly on his face, "You haven't run away since you were 10, what happened?"

"H-Hisashi brought..." Izuku took a deep breath, "Hisashi brought All Might home."

Katsuki nodded, "I would run away too if that happened. You didn't bring anything. You don't have clothes, do you?"

"No..." Izuku trailed off, "Where's your mom?"

"That Old Hag?" Katsuki frowned, "Didn't I- right, you have amnesia... She died two years ago."

"Oh, sorry for asking." Izuku felt awkward about it. Mitsuki was dead? What killed her? Was it him again? Oh god, I hope Aunt Mitsuki wasn't one of my victims...

"Since you don't have any clothes, you can use some of mine," Katsuki said, "Some of my old ones, anyway. Are you hungry? Your house might not be that far away from mine but..."

Izuku merely smiled, "I'm fine, Kacchan. What were you doing before I rudely interrupted you?"

"Thinking about the hero course," Katsuki answered, "I don't know if I actually want a quirk..."

"You don't have to get one, but I think it's a good idea," Izuku shrugged, "It won't limit your abilities, just enhance them. Although, you don't need a quirk to be a hero."

"Are you getting one?" Katsuki asked.

"Nope, can't," Izuku replied, "Ran away from home, remember?"

"Right." Katsuki then asked, "Are you sure you don't have one?"

Izuku paused, debating whether or not, to tell the truth. Finally deciding Katsuki could be trusted, he did tell, "Yeah, I do."

"Did it give you sudden amnesia? A whole personality change?" Katsuki frowned, "Because I think it did."

"Hmm, perhaps."

"Yeah, 'perhaps.'"
