37. Grammys Kelly Style
She did not see what the big deal was about attending the Grammys. She enjoyed it last year but she was not feeling it right now.
Dressing up in expensive gowns and seeing celebrities be as fake as they want to be. The whole industry was bizarre to her. She was not a singer nor a rapper, she was not even married to one, why did she need to attend?
Because now the Kelly sisters were hip hop royalty thanks to their modeling for KStyle Fashions and the close proximity to Icee and Kitty. People wanted to know what they were doing. Now they had a brother to them, seemingly came from nowhere and was blowing up in a major way.
"They love me out here." CJ was at her side as they were about to walk down the red carpet. "You know how many honeys want some of this dick?"
She punched her little brother in his chest so hard he grabbed it in pain.
"Aw, what the fuck?"
"NoNo, stop beating on your brother," Sarena said. She walked to CJ and checked on him. "You okay bro? Can you still look like the Don walking the carpet? We're trying to build your image."
CJ continued to rub his chest. "Nola is mad she's not getting dick and taking it out on me."
She stepped to CJ as if she was about to handle him but Sarena stepped between them.
"Lay a hand on him again No, joining the FBI will be the least of your worries. What the fuck is wrong with you and all this damn anger? Girl, we're trying to have some fun tonight as a family. Don't act like a child."
Victor stepped over to them, working but also escorting Sarena. "What's the hold-up ladies? They need you all on the carpet."
Nola did not want to be there anyway and now they were bossing her around. She was made up and dressed in something she would not typically wear and now had to put a smile on her face and pretend while taking pictures and fielding off dumb paparazzi.
"Come on, I want baby sis walking with me and Kitty," Icee said, taking her by the arm.
"No way! You get the most attention, I'm trying to be lowkey."
She walked back over to Victor. She figured he was big enough to hide behind for most of the pictures.
At least the black dress she blended in and it was nothing bright. A simple long black dress that fit her nicely and did not expose any of her body parts, unlike her sisters. Tennille had everything that could hang out, hanging out. Short enough booty cheeks were out, low enough breast was half exposed, cutout to the sides showcasing her snatched waist. She made sure Krystle made her dress with the least amount of material.
Krystle was more moderate and a black tuxedo-style pantsuit and even wore a top hat as well. It was a more androgynous look but she wore it well. Always the fashionista she wanted to make a statement. Sarena's dress had all the bells and whistles, she wanted to look like a queen. She wore a jeweled crown on top of her curly hair and a long ballroom-style black dress.
Kitty wore a form-hugging bodysuit that was reminiscent of Catwoman. She lost all the baby weight from having twins and was back to having the trademark Kitty abs, though she did not have them on display. Her locs were pulled up and wrapped in an intricate style thanks to Freya who flew out with them to specifically do their hair.
They had even done magic to her hair. She hoped this meant Freya's business would grow or even she could become a celebrity stylist to famous clientele. Ashley would have loved that for her best friend.
"It's the Kelly sisters arriving on the red carpet right now with Icee and Kitty Kelly," she heard one of the paparazzi say.
Her stomach turned a bit. She knew what type of questions they would ask.
About Ashley.
"Icee, no nominations tonight nor are you performing, what are you most looking forward to?"
"Tennille, you will be performing tonight, are you ready?"
"Kitty, fabulous as always, did your twin design your outfit?"
"Krystle, you have done an amazing job with your sisters' attire, as always, how do you do it all and keep up with a newborn?"
"Sarena, you're hot right now with what you have done with your artists, what's next?"
That was pretty much how it went and she was not mad about it at all. No questions were thrown her way. She shimmied out as many pictures as she could. Posed for a few with a fake smile and was glad they made it through the red carpet.
She should have brought a date since she did not want to hear misogynist jargon from her asshole brother. Her sisters were loving the spotlight and she was not there mentally. Then she bumped into Tone and Riyah.
"Hey, I didn't think I would see you here." Tone pulled her in for a hug. Again, it was so fake and Hollywood of him. "You look good, NoNo."
"NoNo?" Riyah made a snarl on her face as she looked at Nola. Obviously, she still felt intimidated by her, but Nola placed a fake smile on her face.
She could play the same game this little girl played.
"Nice to see you again Riyah...under better circumstances now."
Nola could not believe she was a fan of hers in the past. Riyah was one of the fakest of the fakes in LaLa Land. Pretty girl, nothing else going on for her. Could sing, but so could many others. Her looks got her everything.
"And I still have my man." Riyah rubbed her very pregnant stomach. "How are things posing as a fake detective?"
She had to bite her tongue on what she really wanted to say to this bitch. She decided to go with her fakeness as well. "Hope you two have a great life together. You deserve all the happiness in the world."
"Thanks for giving me clarity, No," Tone said to her, although that must not sit right with Riyah. If it was not for her, Tone would have been back with her. If that was what she wanted. No way, she knew she made the right decision about him.
"Great uh, nice seeing you Tone, Riyah. Enjoy the show."
She walked away from them, anxious to get away from the celebrities. She caught up with Kitty and Kryssy now that annoying paparazzi were outside.
"Can we go to our seats?"
"Don't you want to mingle with all the hot celebs?" Kryssy said.
"Why, do you?" Nola asked. "You like all this stuff?"
"You get used to it." Kitty's demeanor changed a bit. "Oh no. Not her."
Nola turned her head to see the one and only Bonnie Walker-Porter and her husband Tempo. Bonnie was Icee's ex-girlfriend right before Kitty came into the picture. Bonnie was the superstar extraordinaire, working as a model first then singer and actress. Beautiful, tall, and the biggest bitch to ever walk the planet.
She was married to Tempo the R n B singer and they had a one-year-old son together. The son that she at first claimed was Icee's. Bonnie was a piece of work indeed.
She would need to control her anger for sure if that bitch came over to them.
"Ignore her, sis," Kryssy said.
"Not after what she did to my bestie, listen, payback time. I still owe her for choking me."
Kitty told her about the time that Amazon bitch attacked her at an event nearly two years ago. This was before she was married. Before she knew she was pregnant at the time. Kitty was a fighter, at least she was, so letting Bonnie get the best of her was not in her nature. And that was two years ago, so she knew Kitty was itching for payback.
"Well, well, well, my favorite little Springfield ragamuffins."
She said what to whom? Nola wished she could strike her right in the throat, and knock the words out of her mouth. Then roundhouse kick her to the face, distorting all that pretty made-up face. Once she was down, she would kick her in the ribs, over and over again.
She snapped out of it, focused on what she could do. Nothing.
Continue to act fake in Fake-Hollyood.
A/N: How many Grammys have I written in this series? Third book but I believe fourth Grammys. It's becoming a necessity 😩
