Nola POV

What the hell had she gotten herself into?

This was not a simple case of a fangirl sliding into their DMs, this was something more. This was serious death threats, stalking, and attempted kidnapping.

She began to worry if she was the right person for the job. She was not familiar with the city and the people, and their typical infatuation with celebrities. She knew most die-hard fans felt as if they knew the celebrity. As if they belonged to them.

Tone had the DMs but it was Riyah they wanted to harm.

"Have you ever had any of your fans come at you like this before?" she asked Riyah while she tried to assess the situation fully, over dinner, prepared by her chef. This was life.

"Me? They are sending them to Tone, not me! It's his crazed stan. They want me out of the way so they can have him. These girls are wild nowadays." Riyah went on and on, seemingly without taking a breath. "I mean, I have always gotten attention in the past and have been flattered, but nothing like this. They stalk me, they stalk him, it's like...they want to be me. They want Tone all to themselves, never mind we're engaged and having a baby."

She crossed her eyes to Tone who nodded his head in agreement.

"Tone has only been a public figure for a small amount of time. Their obsession is deep-rooted, took some time to fester." This all was not adding up to her. Why now come after Riyah or Tone? They had a popular reality show where viewers could watch their mundane everyday life. Most of the things she saw when she viewed the shows were two regular people trying too hard to be overdramatic. As most reality shows did. Drama equaled viewers.

"You're saying I can't have a crazed stalker fan because I'm a nobody?" Tone said to her.

"That is not what I said." She blew out a frustrated breath at him. "They seem to know the whereabouts of Riyah, where she shops, where you guys live, wrecked her closet-"

"And took my clothes!" Tone said. "NoNo, you're coming at this all wrong. Someone wants to hurt Riyah to get with me."

She made no such conclusions, and neither should he. She needed more to go on, but she did not want to sit around and wait for them to attempt something again. If these two were not going to be much help, she had to do this without them.

Riyah kept blabbing about the show and wanting to keep filming for their fans. Everything did not need to be filmed, what did she not understand? Tone put up a good front, and tried to stay macho for his girl, but he had blinders on when it came down to it. Whatever Riyah said, he agreed with and so the cameras were back on, long as they did not get her, talk of her, or even mention her name.

She was "a private investigator" brought to the case and no footage of her would be seen.

It seemed like Riyah relished the added drama, talking about it nonstop for the camera crew every chance she could. Giving her stalker more access to their life was not ideal. Nowadays, relationships that were televised on these types of shows never lasted. It was a curse.

What the hell were they thinking?

Again, anything for views and money. She thought Tone was better than that.

They were two big-time public people now, thanks to this little reality show. They were like Keeping Up with the Kardashians now. Every little thing they did was televised to the world. How could Tone sign up for something like that? Was the money good? Did the show help sell his records?

If she was still with him, no way in hell would she have agreed to it.

The question still stood, were they after Tone or Riyah?

She recovered all the deleted messages Tone received, and sent them to Victor and his computer person, or hacker, trying to trace where they came from. She went back to the store where Riyah was nearly abducted and studied the scene. No cameras. Did the perpetrator know that?

Where was the reality show crew?

She questioned all of them when she went back to the house. She found suspect number one.

Reading the cameraman's body language, he lied to her when she questioned why they were not filming Riyah and Tone as they shopped.

Tone was sitting nearby but not paying any attention, he was on his phone. There was a team of camera crew and film producers, but the store was not cleared for them, so there were a lot of people coming and going. They stopped at several stores before stopping at this one and had been there for over an hour when it happened.

But why would this person be involved?

"Nola, Nola, Nola!"

Riyah yelling out for her irked her soul but she did not know why.

She was hiding out in her room, going over everything because the sooner she solved this case, the sooner she got away from this madhouse.

Riyah burst into her room, dressed in nothing but a skimpy bikini, her growing belly on full display. Why did this girl think she wanted to see this? Being over Tone was one thing, seeing him about to have a baby with this chick was another.

And why was the camera crew following her?

"What's wrong?" She looked to the cameraman and producer following her. "Do you mind? Every fucking thing doesn't need to be recorded. I thought we said-"

"They thought this would be a great storyline to add."

Was this chick for real? One second she was scared and crying over someone after her and now she wanted to blast it to the world.

"Cut the damn cameras off and leave!" she barked at the crew. "And better not be shit on there showing my face or this shitshow of a fucking show will be canceled."

The camera crew hurriedly grabbed their things and walked off, even while Riyah pleaded with them to set up the camera outside of my room. Yeah, if this chick was not taking it seriously, they were wasting her time.

Riyah walked up to Nola's face and stared her down.

"You want to get in between me and Tone because you're jealous he's with me now."

Before she lost her temper, she let out a calming breath.

Nope, that shit did not work.

"First of all, get your ass out of my face because I am not one of your lackeys. Secondly, I don't want your man. I had your man. And I for damn sure did not jump and get pregnant five seconds after I met him." She chuckled and looked her over. "Or was that always the plan."

"Huh? You're not so smart. Tone always says how you're this genius or something...well, not very smart to let a guy like Tone go."

It was taking everything in her to not body slam this pregnant girl. Her friends, Lize and Malika rushed into the room.

"Riyah, you okay? We can hear yelling all down the hall."

"Just Tone's poor little has-been girlfriend. The ugly duckling Kelly sister."

That's it, this girl was asking for it. One shove or punch in the face and it would be over. For her. She had too much to lose to fight someone while pregnant.

"Oh, I'm ugly?" She was better than this. She knew what Riyah was trying to do that instant. Everything became clear to her.

They used to call her the quiet sister. Or the smart sister. The one Kelly sister that did not have the temper or fight or get into any trouble. She barely said a curse word until recently. It was not in her to be violent for no reason but to let someone push her.

"You know what," she raised her hands in defeat. "Have it your way. I'm leaving."

"You can't leave!" Riyah screamed at her. "We hired you, you work for us."

"Case solved," she said with a smug grin.

"Wait, what case?" Lize asked.

How her friends were not aware of what was going on, she had no clue. They could have been in on it. Riyah was diabolical.

It was a good thing she only brought enough that could fit in one small carry-on. She packed it up while Riyah continued to try and bait her.

"See! You're going to leave and not do a damn thing. You don't care someone tried to hurt me and my baby. You're jealous."

She rolled her eyes, continued to pack, and ignore her. She was only there one full day and thankfully she would not have to endure this much more. Should she warn Tone about her or stay out of it?

"Riyah, let the girl go," Malika said. "Why have your man's ex living with you anyway."

"He upgraded for sure," Lize started arms across her chest.

Now, she could not hit a pregnant woman, but she could hit that bitch. Instead, she calmed herself and let it roll off her. She packed her laptop and tablet, then grabbed her phone.

"I hope you and Tone have a great life together."

Riyah blocked the door so she could not leave.

"What are you going to tell Tone?"

"I could tell him everything," she paused for effect. "How your kidnapping was all a fake, you put the cameraman up to it. That you're sending him the DMs, you're the stalker. And that this pregnancy and the engagement is a shame. Oh, and that your star was dimming, and money was low before you caught on to Tone's rising star."

Riyah gasped.

"Do you even love him?"

"Get the hell out of my house!"

"If you could just...step to the side, I will gladly be out of your hair." Riyah moved to the side. The camera crew was standing right outside her door, filming. "I hope they caught everything. And again, long as my name, nor face is in that freak show, we are good. I might even watch this episode."

What a waste of her time. This was why she hated L.A. and all Hollywood types. As if she needed further reason to be over Tone, this was it. He was becoming so Hollywood now.

Her only issue now was whether she should tell him what she knew.

A/N: And there you have it! Tell Tone. He does not deserve this.
