The Ball
The next day came, Rosalie, Cynthia, and Alana kept changing back and forth, trying to find the best outfit for the ball. Derek and Sky were having the same problem.
The time had arrived. All the guests started arriving. The music started when Rosalie, Cynthia, and Alana walked in. Derek looked around for Sky, but didn't find him. He turned and saw Rosalie walking toward him, then they ran and started dancing. Cynthia found Sky and they started dancing, too. That's when Alana came and asked Derek to dance with her. Rosalie allowed them and walked out to the balcony and closed the door behind her. Derek noticed and left Alana in the middle of their dance and went after Rosalie.
Rosalie was looking out into the kingdom, lost in thought, until she heard the door close and was surprised to see Derek walking toward her.
"May I join you?", he asked her.
"Be my guest", she replied. The two looked out toward the land before them. Derek looked up and stared into the sky.
"Beautiful night, isn't it?", he asked her, dreamily.
"Huh, oh. Yes, beautiful.", she replied not really paying attention.
"Just like you", Derek said looking toward Rosalie with dreamy eyes.
"Excuse me?", Roslaie asked him curiously. Derek started to walk closer to her. Rosalie started backing away. She stopped when she felt her back against the rail. Derek grabbed her and lifted her up onto the balcony.
"Derek, what are you d-doing?", Rosalie asked worriedly.
"I love you Princess", was all he said. As Rosalie was about to answer, he didn't let her for he was kissing her. Rosalie began to relax and wrapped her arms around his neck. After a while, they broke the kiss cause they were out of breath.
"I'm guessing you love me too?", Derek asked while Rosalie giggled. They kissed again, but they didn't realize Alana was there, anger ran through her.
Alana filled with anger. She was in love with Derek.
"How could she betray me like that? I thought we were cousins", she whispered to herself.
"Hey Alana! What's up?", asked Cynthia curiously.
"Nothing!", she answered sharply.
"Ooh. Someone's sticy", Cynthia replied playfully.
"Just bug off", and with that, Cynthia left her cousin and went to dance with Sky. Alana stared as Cynthia and Sky danced, then looked back at Rosalie and Derek.
"Why is everyone falling in love except me", she thought to herself. Alana felt betrayed by her own family. She didn't know that love is one of the strongest forces of life and is hard to control. The problem was, the love Alana felt for Derek, turned into hatred toward her cousin Rosalie.
"Watch your back cous.", threatened Alana.
Sadly, the night had to come to an end. Sky and Derek waited for everyone to leave so they can leave after.
"Good night Cynthia", Sky said sadly as he gave Cynthia a kiss goodnight kiss and got on his horse.
"Goodbye my love. Until next time", Derek said to Rosalie. As the girls watched them leave, they noticed Alana wasn't with them.
"Alana! Where are you?", yelled Rosalie worriedly. Alana was in her room, ripping a picture of Rosalie. Cynthia walked in and saw her ripping something.
"What are you doing?", she asked Alana.
"Nothing", Alana replied, pushing the pieces under her bed. After, Cynthia left.
"She's too suspicious. I need to get rid of her first, then I'll handle Rosalie", thought Alana to herself deviously. Alana stayed up the whole night, thinking of ways to get rid of her cousin.
