Blossoms in Full Bloom Pt. 9
|Fuller|
Sunday came around again, from afar I automatically saw the bouncy brown locks belonging to Blossom-
An old lady turned their head around to look at me grinning with some missing teeth. I shot back a smile quickly while waving a bit, before I glanced away grimacing as Melanie laughed at me.
I scowled at her muttering with my arms crossed. "You're just jealous everybody likes me."
"Everybody but that girl I bet." Melanie shot back while digging her elbow in my stomach, causing me to wince.
"Well-"
"Morning Fuller." A voice said making me turn my head, to look over my shoulder to see Blossom smiling up at me behind some of her hair.
"Uh- yes, morning." I grinned causing my cheeks to suddenly hurt.
Blossom nodded at my sister with a small smile before moving past us to find a seat. The view of her was blocked my Melanie snapping her fingers in my face.
"You better stop drooling before someone in the church catches you." Melanie chuckled causing me to nod while grumbling. "Especially our mother, she'll have your head."
"I know, did you see the look she gave Blossom and me during that dinner event?" I scoffed, as I followed behind Melanie to find our seats.
"And the mask smile she gave her right after? Classic mom for you." She laughed dryly once taking a seat next to an older lady, and I sat down next to her lowering my voice.
"She can't not like her because of me." I muttered earning a smirk from Melanie.
"You mean she shouldn't, but who knows. Grandfather seems to have something up his sleeve though." she murmured as mother started heading our way.
"What do you mean?" I asked but mother took a seat next to me before I could get an answer.
"I hope you have your bible and notebook to take notes. I'm not letting you highlight it up like your father." Mother muttered unzipping her purse.
My bible was always in Melanie's purse or my satchel. I reached in my satchel near my feet, only for color to drain from my face. I looked over at Melanie quickly but she was too busy grabbing her own materials. I nudged her hard in the leg, earning a scowl from her.
"Wha-" I pulled her down to my level by her arm before she could finish.
"Do you have my bible? I think I may have put in your purse today." I mumbled glancing hesitantly at mother, thankfully she was looking around for father.
Melanie sighed before sitting up and going through her purse then looked at me shaking her head. I muttered under my breath, begging for mercy. I couldn't have left it at home, when have I ever been so forgetful?
Eventually I practically dumped everything out, quietly and possible. I had my notebook, highlighters, pencils, pens… and the flower. No bible, no bible, NO BIBLE!
I quickly cleaned up my spilled my items, putting them away when mother looked my way. I sat up smiling tightly. "Yes?"
"Do you have any idea where your father could be? He was right by side before I was pulled away by some ladies." She sighed shaking her head.
I got up quickly grinning, "I'll look for him, and make sure to bring him over here as soon as possible." I said before walking past her carefully to not step on her feet.
"Oh, um okay. Good." My mother replied with furrowed eyebrows smiling a little.
I made my way out the doors eventually, and looked around the hallways before going into the men's restroom to check. It was awkward, I got old men replying and may have scared some children or teens. Eventually I left the restroom and headed to the stairs. Before I went down some, I saw my dad walking down the others that went up for me along with none other than Blossom's father.
I don't know why, but suddenly I wanted to hide away. All I needed to do was run back to mom and tell her father was probably coming back. That he was having a serious conversation possibly with a new member. But I wasn't able to move fast enough.
"Fuller! Come meet Allen." My father called for me, I whipped my head around to see the two smiling and still chatting a bit.
I grumbled under my breath but fixed my tie and flashed a smile before walking over. "Nice to meet you Allen, glad to have you apart of the family." I greeted him putting my hand out and he gripped it before giving my hand a rough shake.
My arm felt like a fish and I was barely able to properly shake his hand back. I was slightly taller than my father, but this man in front of me seemed to be a giant. Blossom must have got her height from him, she's not really short. She may even be close to my height.
"You guys sound like some marriage was involved to cause us to be united as a family." Allen chuckled, the side of his eyes crinkled a little.
Of course my face went blazing, my mind couldn't help but to think of Blossom. "O-Oh, no we're all family here. Meaning we should help and care for each other, not exactly my blood." I went on and on blabbering as Melanie would say.
"Oh I'm just teasing ya." Allen said patting my back hard, before grinning at my father. "Your father and I have a lot in common, and I was just thanking him for the dinner last time. I wanted to thank your mother as well but Faith, my wife wanted to do so."
That probably wasn't a good idea, while my mom was almost perfect at pretending who knows how she would react to a stranger trying to be all buddy buddy with her.
"Well, no need to thank us." I shot him a quick smile, feeling just like my mother.
A/N: Sorry for the wait! Things have been a bit busy for me, but here is the update! 😊
