"Where are we going," Pumpkin asked her new friend, making Mal giggle as she continued to twirl around and walk towards the castle where her mommy was helping King Ben. "I told you to find my mommy and help her get with King Ben," the small girl told the puppy in a tone that said obviously as she didn't understand that Pumpkin had no clue what that even meant.
"Okay but where exactly is that," Pumpkin asked the preschooler hoping to be more clear with her as she had quickly learned that the preschooler didn't understand a lot of things. "Oh right! I forgotted about that! We're going to King Ben's castle! Come on!" The young girl told the puppy again as she continued to lead the puppy towards the castle.
Mal immediately went from twirling around and walking slowly to running as fast as she could as soon as they were in viewing distance of the castle. Pumpkin was so lucky that she had been a street dog before this otherwise it would probably be impossible for her to keep up with the hyper preschooler that had just bolted ahead as she ran up to the castle doors.
"Mal, wait for me!" Pumpkin called out making the preschooler nod as she took deep breaths and coughed trying to catch her breath after all her running as the small girl wasn't used to running that much.
"Mal are you okay," Pumpkin asked her new friend in concern, but the small girl just nodded her head as she continued to cough for a few more minutes before she was back to normal again.
"Yeah I'm otay! That happens all the time now come on let's go inside!" Mal told the puppy who just nodded wanting to question the small girl, but decided against it as she still didn't know Mal that much yet and didn't want to do anything to make the girl mad at her.
Pumpkin was in complete shock when she entered the castle as she looked around at how huge it was. She had never seen a home this big before. Mal noticed Pumpkin's shocked look as she just started giggling as she was used to the castle by now.
She had been shocked the first time she had been there too and she had even gotten lost so many times, but now she was used to it and it was her favorite place to play. It was also where Mal and her friends had so much fun playing hide and seek whenever Evie would take them there. Her mommy hated whenever they did that, but it was too much fun for them not to.
"It's huge I know! It's okay it's not that scary! It's really fun! My friends Olivia, Sebastian, and Diego love it! We always play hide and seek, but mommy doesn't like that cause she's scared we're gonna get lost, but it's so much fun! Ooh I should show you my playroom! King Ben lets me play there all the time! It's the bestest!" The small four year old rambled out excitedly as she was excited to share her adventures with her new friend.
Pumpkin just smiled as she had to admit Mal's stories did sound pretty fun. Before Pumpkin could comment on them though two people walked by making the small girl smile a little and wave as she looked at the former king and queen.
Mal didn't know them very well, but they were always nice to her. "Well if it isn't a little intruder in our castle," the former king playfully told his wife, making both Mal and Belle laugh. "Yes I see that. I wonder what this little intruder wants," Belle playfully told her husband back making Mal giggle more as she knew they were playing around.
"He he you're silly! I'm looking for mommy and King Ben!" The small girl told the former king and queen who just laughed as they nodded. "Oh I see well do you have an appointment," the former king asked the preschooler, making her giggle again as she nodded.
"You don't have an appointment you silly don't lie. Now come on they're in Ben's office," Belle told the small girl who smiled as she ran to Ben's office and the puppy quickly followed after her not wanting to get lost in the giant castle.
"MOMMY!" Mal screamed out excitedly when they finally made it to Ben's office and Mal got a tiny glimpse of Evie from the doorway as she missed her mommy so much. She wasn't used to being away from her mommy for this long.
Evie quickly looked up when she heard the small squeaky voice as she immediately recognized it as Mal's. Evie was pretty sure she was going crazy at this point though as there was no way Mal was there.
Before Evie had time to process what was happening a blur of purple and another blur of fur came running
in as Mal practically tackled her by hugging on to her as tightly as she could.
"Mommy! King Ben!" Mal screamed out excitedly, completely shocking Evie as she had no clue where Mal had come from or how she got there, but whoever let her get out was gonna get it.
Evie quickly pushed her feelings of shock and anger away as she hugged Mal close to her, not wanting to make Mal cry even though she was now planning on who to yell at for letting Mal get out again.
"Hey cutie! Just couldn't stay away huh," Ben playfully asked the small girl who giggled and nodded as she hugged onto Evie tighter. "Yeah! Can I stay here and help you please!" Mal told Evie and Ben who looked at each other and nodded as they knew it would be safer this way since Mal was already here.
"Of course you can! I missed you sweetie, but just curious um... how did you get here," Evie asked the small girl trying to get information out of the preschooler as she didn't want to start accusing people yet and wanted to be subtle, but she wanted answers.
Mal just giggled as she looked at her mommy and King Ben as she had almost forgotten he was there too. "We walked here silly," Mal told Evie who was confused at first before turning and seeing that Mal was standing by a dog she had never seen before.
"Mal where did you get that dog!" Evie cried out as she quickly pulled Mal closer and away from Pumpkin, making Mal giggle while Pumpkin was already not liking this other Tessa, Lola, and April clone very much as she seemed even stricter than April and she thought April was strict.
"Mommy it's okay! That's Pumpkin. She's Auntie Tessa's friend's puppy and she's my new friend! She's the best mommy! And she knows Auntie Lola and Auntie April too mommy!" The small girl rambled out excitedly making Evie feel better as she realized pumpkin wasn't a stray dog that Mal had just found off the streets.
She had been worried about that as it wouldn't be the first time Mal had brought a strange animal home as Mal had trouble with understanding that she can't just take strange things home especially wild animals.
"Okay good because you know I worry after last time. Now why don't you go sit over there while we finish up on this last thing we have to do and then we can go home okay," Evie told the small girl who nodded while Pumpkin was now curious.
"What happened last time," Pumpkin barked out to the small girl making her giggle again as she squirmed away from Evie and ran back over to Pumpkin sitting down where her mommy had told her to sit and wait.
"Oh last time me and my friends Olivia and Sebastian found a puppy and we took her home cause we wanted to keep her, but mommy got mad and made us return her cause we can't take things that we don't know where they've been. It's otay though mommy took her and got her to a new home! I get to see her sometimes when I visit Auntie Uma cause her crazy friend Gil kept her! He's funny. He used to think I was a puppy when I was only dis many! Dats so silly!" the young girl rambled out again to the puppy as she held up two fingers making Pumpkin nod as she listened to Mal's rambling again.
"Should I be concerned that she's having a complete conversation with an animal that can't speak," Evie whispered to Ben as she watched Mal talk to the puppy as if she was actually having a conversation with the dog. And because only other animals and children could understand her, Evie thought Mal was just talking to herself and pretending like the dog could talk to her which was concerning her.
Ben just laughed as he knew Evie was a worrier but it was clear Mal was just using her imagination which was completely normal at her age as young kids had very active imaginations and she was just having fun.
"Evie, she's fine. She's only four and I think it's cute that she's using her imagination like that," Ben told Evie, making her smile as she realized Ben was right and she had nothing to worry about.
"Yeah you're right Ben thanks for that sometimes I really need a reality check!" Evie playfully told Ben making him laugh and blush and Evie did the same as she couldn't help it.
"No problem E! I'm always here to help you know that right," Ben told Evie making them both blush again.
While the adults were still working and chatting the preschooler and puppy were just watching them and having their own conversations. "See! They have a be together! I want a daddy!" Mal cried out to the puppy, but before Pumpkin could react again the small girl stood up as she pulled something out of her pocket.
"Mal what is that," pumpkin asked the small girl in confusion, making her giggle again as she looked at Pumpkin. "It's Mistletoe my aunties say this will make people have a spread cooties! If we can get mommy and King Ben to use it then they'll have a get together!" the small girl told the puppy who just nodded again as she could see how much Mal wanted a dad.
It was a lot like how she felt when she wanted and longed for an owner and her friend Diamond had helped her get one that was the best thing to ever happen to her and she is forever grateful that her friend had done that for her.
Pumpkin could see this was the same thing for Mal, a dad was like Mal's owner and as Mal's new friend she was determined to help Mal get that. "Okay Mal but I think we need to," Pumpkin began but didn't get to finish as Mal ran over to her mommy and Ben as she held up the paper mistletoe that she made.
"Mal sweetie, what are you doing," Evie asked the small girl who climbed up on Ben's desk as she held the paper mistletoe over the two adults' heads the best she could and then smiled and gave Pumpkin a thumbs up making the two adults laugh while Pumpkin playfully rolled her eyes at the innocent little girl.
There was no way Mal's plan was going to work like this. The two adults just looked up and noticed what Mal had been holding up as they both blushed again.
"Nothing mommy! Oh look mommy you and King Ben are under the mistletoe! I guess you gotta spread cooties now!" The small girl told the two innocently making them both share a look as they laughed.
"You're so silly Mal! That's made out of paper," Ben told the small girl making her shrug. "I couldn't find a real one, but it still counts!" The preschooler told the King, making him laugh as he helped Mal down.
"Well I guess that is true, so E what do you say," Ben playfully asked Evie, making her laugh as she blushed again. "Well Mistletoe is Mistletoe I guess," Evie told Ben, making them blush as they kissed each other on the cheek causing Mal to get upset as that's not what she wanted.
"That's not how you're opposed to do it!" Mal screamed out making the two laugh again. "Okay okay you're right," Evie told the small girl as she leaned in and kissed Ben who leaned in as well. They were planning to just kiss for a second to satisfy the small girl, but as soon as their lips met they both deepened the kiss completely forgetting about the fact that Mal was still there.
Pumpkin just watched in disgust, but she stopped when the small girl poked at her bringing her back to reality. "Pumpkin why are they eating each other," the small girl innocently asked the puppy, making her eyes widen as she quickly started barking, making it stop as the two quickly remembered where they were as they pulled back.
"Oh my gosh I can't believe I just did that! I gotta go! Ben I am so sorry! Mal let's go!" Evie screamed out in complete horror and embarrassment when she realized Mal had witnessed them making out.
"Oh um yeah I actually have a big meeting soon. I should get ready for that. Um... i'll call you later," Ben told Evie who just nodded still embarrassed as she quickly grabbed Mal and the puppy and then left the castle.
"Okay Mal I know you saw some stuff, but..." Evie began, but got interrupted by the excited little girl. "You kissed King Ben!" The small girl screamed out excitedly making Evie blush before pushing it away.
"Yes Mal I did, but you can't tell anyone okay. I really don't need the others finding out about this," Evie told Mal who nodded as they continued to walk back to their home. "Okay who was supposed to be watching Mal!" Evie called out angrily as soon as they got back to the house making Lola look up in panic as she realized she was the only one around again.
"You have got to be kidding me!" Lola groaned out as she just knew she was about to get blamed again when she wasn't even the one in charge. "Mommy kissed King Ben!" Mal told Lola, making her look at Evie in shock.
"Mal!" Evie called out as they had just talked about her not saying anything a few minutes ago. Mal just giggled and shrugged in her cute innocent way. "Oopsies sowy mommy! Now come on Pumpkin I wanna show you my room! It's over here you're gonna love it! It's all purple!" The small girl rambled out as she led Pumpkin to her room wanting to show off her room to her new friend."I'm sorry you did what!" Lola asked Evie in shock once Mal and Pumpkin had run off to Mal's room.
