42. Forbidden Fascinations and Sexy Vases
CHAPTER 42
Forbidden Fascinations and Sexy Vases
Blake's POV
"It's sad to see him go through a break up when he hasn't even been in a relationship yet." Jack sighed.
"It's even sadder that the break up happened ages ago and he just realized it." Asher said.
"Could you guys leave?" I asked as I lied on my bed, hugging my pillow.
"No. When Hazel throws a party, she expects all of her friends to be there." Asher said.
"Since when am I one of her friends?" I asked.
"You are. Now get up!" He said, pulling my leg.
"Stop!" I groaned, "I don't want to go."
"Why not?!" Jack said.
"He does not want to see Addy getting it on with other guys." Asher said, making me glare at him.
"That's really sad." Jack replied, shaking his had.
"Please, shut up." I said.
"You should be more like her though. Look at her enjoying the single life." Jack smirked and I clenched my fists.
"Can you two stop being so heartless?" Kate asked them and they rolled their eyes at her.
"Blake, didn't Addy tell you that you could only hang out with her whenever we're around?" Kate asked.
"Yes," I replied.
"And how long has it been since you hung out with her?"
"Two days," I replied.
"Don't you want to be with her now that we're going to be there too?" She asked.
"Yes," I replied.
"Then go get changed, and please shave. This is not a good look on you." She said and I chuckled before getting off my bed and walking into my bathroom.
After cleaning myself up, I changed and walked back out where Asher, Jack and Kate were waiting for me. We all took Asher's car and reached the party in a few minutes.
The moment we reached, Asher and I lost Jack and Kate as they went to dance.
"Which one of us is going to stay sober?" Asher asked.
"Definitely not Jack or Kate," I said, looking at the dance floor where they both held a cup in their hands.
"You could stay sober. It's your car." I said, patting him on the back, making him glare at me.
I laughed at him and I was about to go get myself a drink when I spotted two people on the dance floor.
"Lynne?" I whispered, watching the girl in the middle of the crowd, dancing with a boy from our grade.
His hands ran down her curves, all the way to her hips as she smirked and started grinding against him. I clenched my fist tightly when she arched her neck as his lips touched her skin.
Her eyes closed for second before she opened them only for her gaze to meet mine. The smirk on her face dropped and she stared at me with a longing look in her eyes, almost like she wanted me as much I wanted her.
After that, it was like she broke off a reverie; she gave me a sinister smile before turning around and crashing her lips against the guy's.
I felt my blood boil at the sight before I turned to Asher.
"I need your car." I told him.
"Why?"
"I'm going to leave. I'll come back here with the car when you're ready to leave." I said.
He looked at Lynne before giving me an understanding look and taking out the keys from his pocket to hand it to me.
"Thanks," I mumbled and walked out of the party.
I got in the car, started to drive and soon, I found myself in front of a familiar house before I took out my phone and dialed the number.
"Hello?" Terra's voice called as soon as she answered.
"Hey," I smiled, "Are you free now?"
"I am. Why?" She asked.
"I'm in front of Cole's house. Want to hang out?" I asked.
"Umm... n-now?" She asked.
"Yeah, is it alright?" I asked.
"Y-Yeah, just give me a second to get dressed." She said.
"Alright. See you soon." I smiled before hanging up.
I leaned my head against the seat of my car, and all I could think of was Lynne and the way that guy's hands were all over her. It haunted me to think of her with him and I hated that I couldn't do anything against it because there was nothing between us anymore. I was back to being just her best friend.
My thoughts were interrupted when there was a slight knock on the window of the passenger seat. I smiled at Terra and unlocked the car, allowing her to open and enter.
"Where are we going?" She asked as she sat down.
"Have you had dinner yet?" I asked and she shook her head as a 'no'.
"Let's go and eat then. You can choose where we go. I loved the place you took me to last time." I said, giving her a smile as I started the car.
"Have you ever eaten from a food truck before?" She asked, tilting her head to the side.
"No," I replied as I started the car.
"Then let's go to the beach. One of the best food trucks I know parks there at this time." She said and I nodded before taking off in the direction of the beach.
The moment we reached there, she excitedly hopped out of the car and I laughed as I followed behind her.
"You seem really happy." I said as I hung an arm around her shoulder.
"I think it's obvious that I don't get out much except for tiny outings with Cole or my volunteering work." She laughed, "I'm just really excited to be here."
"Whenever you're free, just call me. I'll take you out." I said.
"No, that's fine. I don't want to be a burden of any sort." She said, shaking her head lightly.
"Terra, you won't be a burden. I want to spend time with you." I assured.
"But your other friends won't like it. I don't really like them, but I still don't want to upset them or ruin your friendship with them." She said.
"Don't worry about them. They're nice people. They'll come around one day." I said and she lowered her head.
"Terra," I called and cupped her face before tilting it to face me, "I know it's hard to endure the way they treat you, but it's not your fault. There's nothing wrong with you and you don't have to feel like you're a problem."
She smiled at me, still keeping her eyes trained on the ground and I tucked the hair covering her face behind her ears to see the red shade on her cheek, making me feel warm inside.
"I think it's nice of you to care how they would feel though. After the way they behaved towards you, you don't have to be so kind. But you are, and that's what I like about you." I said and she finally looked up at me to lock her eyes with mine.
Then I did something that I had been dying to do the since the first time it happened; I kissed her. The moment I felt her soft lips touch mine, I felt a rush of excitement fill up my body. That feeling only increased as she responded back, placing her palm on my cheek, pulling my face closer to her. I moved even closer to her and brought my hands down from her face to wrap them around her waist, crashing her against my body.
I softly pulled away from her and looked at her face to see her panting in front of me. Her face was redder than ever and I couldn't help but grin knowing that I was the reason for it.
"Let's go eat now." I said and she bit her lips before nodding.
"So, lead the way." I told her, grabbing her hand in mine and giving her a smile.
She gave me a wide grin before pulling me further into the beach until we reached a small truck surrounded by bright lights and a few people standing around it carrying different kinds of food.
"Terra!" The old lady inside the truck exclaimed as soon as she saw her.
Terra let go of my hand and rank up to the truck as I followed behind her.
"Blake, this is Lola. Lola, this is my friend Blake." She introduced.
"Blake? You're a friend of Cole's, aren't you?" She asked and I gave her puzzled look before nodding.
"Lola used to be Cole's nanny until he was fifteen." Terra explained.
"He had a nanny till he was fifteen?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"Oh, his parents are very worried about their son. I didn't mind it though. He was always a very obedient boy." Lola said and I scoffed at the compliment on Cole.
"Lola joined her husband to run this food truck after Cole's parents decided that he was old enough." Terra explained.
"Cole always had great things to say about you. It's good to see you close to Terra now." Lola told me and I gave her a smile.
"Well, Terra's a great girl. I'm glad to be close with her." I said, flashing a smile at Terra.
"So, what can I get you two to eat tonight?" Lola asked and I turned to Terra questioningly.
"Burgers or Hot Dogs?" Terra asked me.
"Hot Dogs!" I exclaimed, "My mom never lets me have hot dogs. She finds sausages disgusting. Don't even ask me why." I said, shaking my head.
"Then get two hot dogs and a plate of your special loaded fries." She ordered before turning to me, "You have to try the loaded fries here. It's amazing!" She grinned.
"Let's go sit down. They'll call when the food is ready." She said and I nodded before going over to the sand and settling down.
"You know, we don't know much about each other." I said and she looked at me.
"What do you want to know?" She asked and I thought for a second.
"How come I've never heard of your dad?" I asked and her smile immediately dropped.
She remained quiet for a few seconds before she spoke. "He died in a car accident," She said, "He was high that night. In fact, he was always high and he spent every penny we had on drugs. After his death, we were left in debt and we had to give up our house too. So, my mom had to take up a job as a maid at Cole's."
"I-I'm sorry. I shouldn't have asked." I said, lowering my head.
"It's alright. You didn't know." She said, giving me a smile.
"So, what my friends did must've been really hard." I whispered.
"It was," she said, "I can't be like him, Blake. And I don't want them to turn me into someone like him."
"I promise you; they won't do anything like that again." I said, placing a hand on hers.
Our heads turned back when we heard Lola call Terra's name.
"Let's go get our food," She said in a cheery voice, trying to change the mood as much as possible.
I smiled at her before getting up along with her and we walked towards the food truck together.
"Here's your food," Lola said, handing over a tray to us.
We both reached for the tray at same time before giving each other awkward glances.
"I'll take it," I said and taking the tray from Lola, giving Terra a smile.
"You two make a wonderful couple." Lola complimented with a dreamy look on her face.
"Umm... we're no–"
"Thank you," I said, interrupting Terra before placing a kiss on her hair.
Terra blushed and I chuckled before walking back to the spot where we sat with her following behind me. We ate our food and spent the next few minutes talking until I got a phone call.
"One second. I need to take this." I told Terra before getting up from the sand and walking away.
I answered the phone and placed it against my ear before starting with a "hello".
"Blakeeeey!" Lynne's voice squealed and I did a mental facepalm.
"You're drunk, aren't you?" I asked.
"Yer drunk!" She giggled and I chuckled in response.
"Blakey?" She called.
"Yes?"
"I'm having sexxx!" She exclaimed and my smile fell.
"You're having sex?" I asked through my gritted teeth. All the images of that guy I saw her with earlier came rushing back into my mind, and I clenched my phone hard in my fist.
"Yesh!" She replied, "With a vasseee!"
"Did you just say vase?" I asked, feeling a frown form on my forehead.
"Yesh!" She replied before I heard a few noises in the background.
"Addy, give me the phone!" I heard Asher's voice scold and I rolled my eyes as I waited for them to finished their struggle.
"Blake?" Asher asked into the phone and in the background, I could hear Lynne arguing.
"What does she mean by having sex with a vase?" I asked.
"Oh, don't worry, you're not getting replaced by a vase yet," he laughed, "She's trying to stuff a vase up her dress, but it won't fit."
"No! Do not take off your clothes!" I heard Jack shout, followed by Lynne's cries.
"What is going on? I'm coming there." I said before hanging up.
I walked back to Terra and on hearing my footsteps, she quickly turned to me with a bright smile.
"Terra, I need to go back to the party. I'll drop you off at home." I said and she nodded. I lent her a hand and taking it, she got off the ground before dusting off her clothes.
We drove back to Cole's house and I stopped in front of the gate.
"I had fun tonight." I said, facing her.
"Me too." She smiled, "We should do that again sometimes."
"Sure, just call me whenever you're free." I said and nodded with a smile.
"Bye," She said before turning to open the door.
"Wait!" I called and she stopped half way between opening the door before turning to me.
I stared at her for a second before leaning in closer and pressing my lips against her. After a short and a soft kiss, I pulled back and gave her a smile, but frowned when I didn't see the same excitement on her face.
"Blake, I'm not like Addelyn." She whispered.
"I know that." I said.
"What I mean is that I don't do this casual hook up."
"Yeah, I know that too."
"Then what are we doing? You kissed me, but what comes after that?" She asked.
"I don't know." I said.
"I can't do this if it's not real, Blake. I either need something serious or nothing." She said and I didn't know how to respond.
"If you want time to think about this, that's alright. Just make sure that you're happy with whatever decision you make." She said when and I slowly nodded. She leaned in and placed a kiss on my cheek before giving me a smile and getting out of the car.
I sighed and watched her leave before driving back to the party. I got out and I was about to enter Hazel's house when I heard a honk. I turned around too see Hazel's car drive out of her garage and the window of the driver's seat lowered to reveal Asher with Jack sitting in the passenger seat
"What are you doing with Hazel's car?" I asked as I walked over to them.
"You took mine and I didn't know when you were coming back." He said, "And I thought that it would be better to take Addy home."
"Okay, then. Put it back in the garage. Let's take your car." I said and he nodded.
I heard a knock on the widow of the backseat, making me turn my attention there before I looked Asher.
"Could you roll the window down?" I asked him and he nodded his head before doing so.
As soon as the window was down, Lynne's head popped out a she gave me a wide grin.
"Blakey!" She squeaked before pushing her body out the window. My eyes widened and I quickly rushed to hold her as she slithered her way out of the car.
Once she was out, she hugged me tightly, making me smile at her before turning my attention to Asher.
"Lynne and I will wait by your car." I told him.
He nodded and I wrapped my arms around Lynne's waist, steadying her before walking towards Asher's car.
I opened the backdoor and helped her in before entering myself.
"So, how was the vase?" I asked her as she rested her head on my lap.
"Shexshy." She replied, making me laugh.
"Really? Sexier than me?" I asked.
"Yesh!" She replied and I laughed again before leaning down to place a kiss on her forehead.
"You're so adorable, Lynne." I chuckled, slowly caressing her hair.
She giggled before snuggling in my lap and closing her eyes.
A few minutes later, Asher came in and took the driver's seat.
"Where's Jack?" I asked.
"He's saying bye to Kate. She's staying over with Hazel." Asher said, "Addy was supposed to stay too, but Hazel freaked out when she tried to have sex with her mom's vase."
I laughed before looking over to the front porch of the house where Jack was making out with Kate.
"It does not look like they're going finish anytime soon." I said and Asher chuckled.
"Do you think he regrets asking Kate to be his girlfriend?" I asked.
"Of course not. Look at them get it on over there. They look pretty happy to me." He said and I nodded in agreement.
"Do you regret asking Hazel to be your girlfriend?" I asked.
"No, although I do wish that I did things differently. You know, the Luke part of the whole thing can be annoying." He said.
"I wish I did things differently too. Then maybe Lynne wouldn't be so distant from me." I said, looking at her to see that she was fast asleep.
"Why are we having this conversation again?" He asked.
"I was with Terra." I said.
"Of course, you were." He scoffed, making me roll my eyes.
"She said that she wanted something serious." I said hesitantly and he turned back to look at me.
"You want to ask her to be your girlfriend?" He asked with a disgusted look on his face.
"Maybe," I said.
"Are you kidding me? Her? Really?"
"Asher, don't be a dick." I said and he rolled his eyes before turning to the front again.
The passenger seat opened and Jack entered the car before turning to me.
"Jack, can I ask you a question?" I asked and he nodded.
"How does it feel having a girlfriend?" I asked.
"It's amazing. Why? Are you planning to get one?" He asked.
"Maybe, I don't know." I said.
"You should totally ask her. You two already act like a couple." He shrugged and I gave him a confused look.
"Jack, he's talking about Terra; not Addy. Maybe you shouldn't encourage him so much." Asher said.
"Oh, in that case, nope! Having a girlfriend would suck." He said.
"But you just said that it's amazing." I argued.
"It depends on who your girlfriend is. Kate is amazing. Terra; not really." He said.
"I like Terra. You all seem to have some problem with her but I happen to think that she's great." I said.
"But think about it, Blake. She won't get along with any of your friends, your mom is going to blow her top and I don't think that Terra's going to have sex with you anytime soon." Asher said.
"You guys and my mom aren't the ones who are going to date her; I am. So, what matters is if I like her." I said giving him a glare.
"And it's not about sex. I'm sure that I can wait till she's ready." I said.
"I still don't think that it's going to work out." Jack said.
"Can you guys just please be supportive like normal friends? Just put your hatred for her aside and care about how I feel because this is my relationship."
Asher and Jack exchanged a glance before sighing.
"Fine, we won't say anything against it." Asher said and I smiled.
I turned my gaze to Lynne who was still asleep on my lap before softly caressing her face.
Getting a girlfriend wasn't such a bad thing, but a part of me didn't want one because of Lynne. Being with another girl just makes it even more real that there is nothing between Lynne and me.
But maybe it was time to finally accept that this is real, and that Lynne and I are nothing but friends.
As much as I hate to do this, I had to move on.
Author's Note
Recently I've been getting a few complaints and questions about when the book is ending. It has been concerning to a few people that it's been 40 chapters and there still hasn't been any confessions or endings. And I'm guessing that it's going to even more concerning now that I've introduced a new plot with Blake and Terra.
Well, here's the thing; my book is a slow burn. So, if you don't like slow burns, this book is probably not for you. A romantic love confession after twenty chapters is just not my style.
I'm sorry if this is getting too boring or infuriating. But if you do find this boring, then maybe it's time to drop the book. I'm not forcing anyone to read this and I don't want you to if you don't find it interesting.
Anyways, I'll be adding a disclaimer in the prologue saying that the book is a slow burn so readers could avoid it if it's not their style.
But don't worry, this is not going to be ninety, hundred chapters or anything (hopefully). I can't tell you how many there will be since I haven't written all the chapters yet. But I can assure you that I do have a plan for how everything goes about. I'm not just going with the flow, and I've had the entire story mapped out even before I started writing the book.
Anyways.... moving on to the chapter; welp, here's the moment you've all been dreading (unless if there are any Blerra shippers....) Hehe..
So, if you liked what you read, vote.
If you want to keep reading, add this to your library so you'll know when I update.
If you have absolutely any comments, good or bad, feel free to comment and let me know.
And if you made it till the end, thank you for reading and I love you so much!
Okay, have fun, enjoy life.
Signed,
Me
