CHAPTER 27
Eye-opening Advices and Unexpected Sights
As soon as the doorbell rang, I ran to attend it from the kitchen, still covered in flour.
"Hey, Addy!" Asher greeted as Hazel waved from beside him.
"What were you doing?" Hazel asked, lifting up a few strands of my hair that was covered in flour.
"I was baking a cake." I replied with a grin.
"With you head?" Asher asked and I narrowed my eyes at him.
"So, what are guys doing here?" I asked, dusting my hair with my hand.
"We came here to talk to you." Asher said.
"We did?" Hazel asked and Asher nodded.
"About what?" I asked.
"About Blake." He replied and Hazel groaned.
"Seriously, you dragged me here to talk about him?" She asked him.
"I didn't drag you here. You came here on your own will." He chuckled.
"And now I regret it." She rolled her eyes.
"️Hazel, you can wait in the living room till he's done talking." I suggested, "Asher, come with me to the kitchen." I said and he nodded before following me.
"Okay, talk." I ordered as I took the cake batter and started mixing it.
"Are you avoiding Blake?"
"No", I replied.
"Then why does he keep complaining that you're not talking to him."
"I am talking to him. But I decided that it's about time that I put some boundaries."
"Boundaries? Why?" He asked with a frown.
"Because I've been so wrapped up in the fantasy of him and I being together that I keep forgetting that he's not actually mine."
"Addy, you're not wrapped up in a fantasy. Just give him some time to realize his feelings for you."
"That's what I was doing until that day at the diner. I just felt like he was tired of having me around all the time. And I don't blame him. I've been a little too controlling recently."
"He is not tired of having you around, Addy. He loves spending time with you."
"No, he used to love spending time with me." I corrected.
"What do you mean?"
"He said that I changed a lot."
"So?"
"He said that he didn't like that I changed. All of these changes happened after I fell in love with him. My feelings are a burden to him and everything I do to get him just keeps hurting him." I said, "I never wanted to hurt him." I whispered.
"That's not true, Addy. I think that he actually likes your change." Asher said.
"Really?" I asked sarcastically, "What part of it? Me forcing him to stop talking to the girl that he has been obsessing with?"
"Addy, I've told you this before; Terra is just a phase. Stop worrying about her already." He said, "And about what he likes, he told me he liked that you're not with other guys anymore. He likes it when it's just the two of you which is why, he hasn't been with any other girl but you."
"He hasn't been with anybody else?"
"Apparently not. He's happy with just having you, Addy." He said. "He even almost got into a fight with Cole today because of you."
"Cole?" I asked in confusion.
"Yeah, he thinks you're sleeping with Cole."
"Cole?" I asked again, furrowing my eyebrows.
He chuckled, "Crazy, right?"
I thought for a second before I realized what was going on.
"I think this is about a phone call I had with Cole. Blake completely misunderstood that."
"That's what I thought." He said, "Just talk to him and clear things up." He said and I nodded.
"Don't keep avoiding him anymore. You're hurting him." Asher said.
"I'll talk to him today." I smiled, "Thank you."
"I should be thanking you. You'll be getting that idiot out of my hair." He laughed.
"Oh, don't pretend like you don't love him." I said and he grinned.
"Now, let's go to the living room. Hazle's probably waiting for us."
He nodded and I placed the cake batter in the oven before walking into the living room.
"I don't want you calling her." I heard Hazel speak into a phone.
"Is that my phone?" I asked Asher, looking at her carefully and Asher nodded.
"Because you are a pervert and she does not need any perverts calling her." Hazel said.
"Let her handle this. I'm not in the mood to talk to any pervert." I said.
"No, you idiot!" Hazel shouted, "I am her best friend. Not you."
"Did she just say best friend?" Asher asked.
"Oh god! It's Blake." I sighed before walking towards her.
"I hope you get fucked by a goat!" She shouted into the phone.
"Give me that!" I said, grabbing the phone from her and placing it against my ear.
"I hope you get fucked by a racoon!" Blake's voice filled my ears.
"Blake, it's me." I said.
"Oh, hey Lynne!" He said awkwardly. "Umm... I hope you get fucked by me."
I chuckled, "We'll see."
"Can I come over?" He asked.
"To fuck me?" I asked, raising an eyebrow.
"No." He said, "I mean, I don't mind that. But I called because I wanted to hang out with you."
"Sure, just come over. Asher and Hazel are here." I informed, "Maybe I could call everyone and we could all have a hangout." I suggested.
"Yeah, okay." He said in disappointment.
"Blake, are you alright?" I asked.
"Yeah, I'm fine." He said quickly. "Can I stay over after they leave?" He asked.
"Of course." I replied, "Do you even have to ask?"
"I don't know. You've barely even talked to me for the past few days."
"I'm sorry about that." I said softly, "You can stay over tonight."
"Thanks." He said before hanging up.
"Blake's coming over." I announced and Hazel let out a groan.
"We'll also called Jack, Kate, Cole and Luke." I said.
"No to Luke", Asher said.
"Yes to Luke", Hazel argued and Asher groaned.
"Just get along with him, please." She said and he nodded, making her smile and place a kiss on his cheek.
After an hour, everyone but Blake was already here and I went back to the kitchen to continue make the icing for my cake.
"Hey, Addy." A grumpy voice greeted and I turned to Cole.
"What are you doing in the kitchen?" I asked.
"I wanted to talk to you about something." He said.
"What is it?"
"Your asshole of a boyfriend is trying to get into Terra's pants again."
"Translation: Blake talked to Terra. Am I right?"
"I think I explained it better." He said before lifting himself up to sit on the kitchen counter.
"Why do you sound so chill about it?" He asked.
"Because I'm the one who asked him to talk to her."
"You what?!" Cole shouted. "Why would you do that?!"
"Don't raise your voice at me." I warned, "Besides, it wasn't right for me to blackmail him like that. I was just undoing my mistake."
"Undoing you mistake?" Cole asked, "Who are you and what have you done with Addy?"
I rolled my eyes, "Can't a girl try to do something right for once?"
"No." He said, "You doing the right thing is something that I can't even imagine."
"You require a brain to imagine, Cole. It's not meant for you to do."
"You love saying that I'm dumb, don't you?"
"I love saying the truth." I said.
"And that's the biggest lie of all." He said and I gave him a pointed look.
"If you're going to be a dick, leave." I said.
"I'm sorry." He sighed, "I'm just worried that she would start liking him again. What if he tries to go after her?"
"He won't." I assured.
"How do you know that?"
"He told me that he's not going to go after her and I trust him."
"I don't trust him." He said.
"Cole, no one cares." I said and he narrowed his eyes at me.
"What are you making?" He asked.
"Icing for my cake."
"Is it edible?" He asked and I glared him.
"Can I taste it?" He asked.
"Fine." I said and he tried to dip his finger in the bowl but I immediately moved it away from him, making him pout.
"That is disgusting. Don't dip you dirty fingers in my bowl."
"Sorry." He apologized sarcastically.
I took a spoon and dipped it in the bowl before carrying it to him. He took it from me and put it in his mouth but not before it dripped down his chin.
"How old are you?" I asked just as he lifted his hand up to wipe it.
"Don't!" I shouted, making his hand stop halfway. "Don't touch it with your hand." I shook my head before grabbing a towel and dabbing it on his chin, cleaning it off.
He grinned at me and I rolled my eyes before I averting my gaze away from him only for my attention to get caught by the figure standing by the kitchen entrance.
"Blake", I whispered as he watched us with a deep scowl on his face.
"Hey, Blake!" Cole grinned cheekily before wrapping an arm around me and pulling me closer against him.
Blake clenched his jaw and I was worried that he would charge at Cole. But instead, he turned around and walked out of the kitchen.
"That wasn't as fun as I expected it to be." Cole pursed his lips together and I glared at him before shoving his hand away from me.
"I'm going to go check on Blake." I said before exiting the kitchen.
I walked into the living room only to see Asher entering the house with a confused look on his face.
"Blake just stormed out of the house." He informed.
"He left?"
"Yeah, it was weird. He walked out without even looking at anybody."
"He saw Cole and me in the kitchen together." I explained, "I need to go talk to him."
"He already drove away." Asher said and I sighed.
"Fine. I'll somehow send everyone home and then drive to his place." I said and Asher nodded.
I took a deep breath before entering the living room again with my thoughts still stuck on Blake.
There was something bothering him and it wasn't just Cole.
Author's Note
In the last chapter, you guys thought that he was in trouble his dad. But no, he's not in trouble.
I just thought that "We need to talk!" would be a more dramatic ending than "Sup Blake, I have something to say to you."
Anyways, what do you think is going on with him?
You'll see it in the next chapter which is going to be in his POV. As I told you, you'll be seeing more of him.
