CHAPTER 26
Needless Jealousy and Tiresome Arguments

Blake's POV

"You were distracted, Vandy!" The coach yelled at me as everyone walked into the locker room after practice. "Do you have a crush on Hamilton? You were staring at him throughout the entire practice." 

"Fuck no!" I grimaced. 

"Language, Vandy." He warned.

"Can you stop calling me that?" 

"Get a shorter name and we'll think about it." 

"Just call me Blake." I suggested. 

"What are you? My drinking buddy?" He asked sarcastically and I rolled my eyes. 

"I'll be your drinking buddy." Jack panted as he came running towards us, halfway through his punishment sprints. "Just don't make me do these stupid sprints when I'm late." 

"I'm not that desperate for a drinking buddy." The coach deadpanned. 

"I own a club." Jack said, "Free booze anytime you want and access to the VIP lounge. All you have to do is excuse my tardiness." 

The coach thought for a second. "Alright, let's talk." He said and Jack smirked before they both walked away.

"Lucky dick." I heard a voice from beside me and I looked at Asher. 

"Why don't our parents own a club?" I asked and he nodded in undersanding as we both walked towards the locker room. 

"So, you have a crush on Cole?" Asher smirked and I glared at him.

"But seriously, you've been glaring at him every chance you get for the past few days." He said. 

"He pisses me off." I mumbled as I entered the locker room. 

Asher opened his locker and I leaned against the one opposite to his. 

"You and Lynne talk about stuff, right?" I asked. 

"That depends on what stuff means." He said, "We don't talk about sex, so I do not know what she likes or dislikes in bed, if that's what you want to know." 

"I know what she likes better than she does." I said, "And that's not what I'm talking about." 

"Then what do you want to know?" 

"Is she seeing Cole?" I asked. 

"Cole?" He frowned, "Is that what this whole glaring thing is about?" 

"Just tell me." 

"Nothing that I know of. But as I told you, we do not talk about sex."

"So, you think she's having sex with him?" I asked, getting an unsettling feeling in the pit of my stomach. 

"No, I didn't say that." He said, "What's your problem now?" 

"I heard her talking over the phone with him the other day and they seemed close." I grumbled. 

"Of course they're close. They've been friends for almost eight years." 

"They seemed even closer." I said.

"Was she flirting with him?" He asked.

"Yes"

"That's it?" He asked with a blank look, "Dude, she flirts with everyone." 

"But he is not everyone. He's her friend." 

"So? Remember how her and Jack used to be before he started dating Kate? They used to flirt all the time and you had no problems with it." 

"But they were just joking around." I reasoned, "They both meant everything in a platonic way." 

"Maybe that's how it is with Cole too." He said.

"No, it's not. This is different." I argued.

"The only difference here is that you and Cole like the same girl." Asher pointed out, "Don't drag Addy into this whole feud you have with him over that scholarship bitch." 

"She's not a bitch." I mumbled and he sighed. 

"You already ruined your friendship with Cole over her. Just try not to ruin things with Addy because of your unnecessary doubts." 

"It's not just Cole." I sighed. 

"What else now?" He asked, letting out a tired sigh.

"She has been a little distant with me lately." I said. 

"Weren't you at her place last night?" He asked and I nodded, "Did you guys have sex then?" He asked. 

"We did." I said, "But that's all we do now. She barely talks to me though." 

"Maybe she's just tired." 

"Or maybe she has feelings for Cole." I suggested. 

"Addy does not have any feelings for Cole." He claimed. 

"What if she does?" 

"She does not." He said, "Why are you getting so worked up about this anyways? It's not like you haven't seen her with other guys." 

"This is different." I said. 

"How?" 

"One, I used to be friends with him and the idea of him sleeping with Lynne is a little weird for me." I said, "Two, I haven't really seen her with anybody else recently and neither have I been with anyone else and I like it better that way." 

Asher smirked at me, "Dude, you're in a relationship." 

"No, I'm not." 

"You definitely are." 

"No, she's my best friend. That's it." I said. 

"No, I'm your best friend and she is your unofficial girlfriend." 

"She's my best friend and you're an annoying dick." 

"You wound me, Blake." Asher said dramatically. 

"Good to know." I smirked, "Anyways, I just want to know why she's avoiding me again." 

"Fine. I'll go talk to her." He offered. 

"Thank you." 

"Okay, now go shower." He said, patting on my back before walking away.

After showering and getting dressed, I grabbed my gym bag and swung it over my shoulder before exiting the locker room. 

As soon as I entered the hallway, a girl bumped into my chest and as a quick reflex, I wrapped my arm around her waist to steady her. 

"Terra?" I asked as she lifted her face up, giving me a clear view. 

"H-Hey", she greeted. She looked at my arm wrapped around her and I quickly removed it before stuffing my hands in my pocket. 

"What are you doing here? Didn't you go home?" I asked. 

"N-No, I wait in the library whenever Cole has practice." She replied, keeping her gaze lowered. 

"Oh, Cole." I scorned, with an eye roll. 

"I-I need to go." She said as she moved past me and started walking away. 

"Terra, wait!" I said. She looked back at me but still kept on walking. 

"Wait! I need to talk to you!" I shouted as I jogged towards her but she didn't stop.

"Terra, please." I said and grabbed her wrist as soon as I reached her, "Let me explain." 

"You don't have to explain, Blake. I know everything."

"Know what?" I asked in confusion. 

"That you were playing me and lying to me." 

"That's not true. I swear I didn't play you or lie to you." I said.

"You told me that Addelyn wasn't your girlfriend." 

"She's not." I said. 

"Lies again." She said before pulling her hand away from mine and turning around.

"Terra, please just give me a second to explain." I said and grabbed her wrist again. 

"Let go of her." A stern voice said from behind me and I clenched my jaw before leaving her hand and turning around. 

"What do you want?" I asked Cole.

"I want you to stay away from her. I've already told you that many times." 

"And why would I listen to you?" 

He glared at me before grabbing my collar. 

"Cole, don't." Terra said and he looked her before letting go of me. 

"Terra, please just listen to me for a second." I told her, turning away from Cole.

"She does not want to listen to you." Cole said.

"Could you shut the fuck up?"

"I will shut up once you leave." He said, raising his voice.

"Could you both stop?!" Terra's voice shouted.

"What do you want to tell me?" She asked me.

"Can we talk in private?" I asked. 

"I am not leaving her alone with you." Cole said. 

"I wasn't asking you." I shot back.

"If you want to say something, say it in front of him." Terra said calmly and I let out an exasperated sigh. 

"I didn't lie to you about Lynne. She is my best friend." 

"His best friend that he's fucking." Cole added and I glared at him. 

"He's not wrong." I said, facing Terra again. "She and I do have sex but that's it. Other than that, we're just friends." 

"How is that just friends?" Terra asked, furrowing her eyebrows. 

"It's a little hard to explain but we're just best friends who happen to be involved with each other sexually." 

"Whatever, your relationship with Addy is none of her business anyways." Cole said before taking Terra's hand in his. 

"I'm not done talking." 

"Yes, you are." Cole said. 

"Cole, let him speak." Terra said. 

"I'm sorry for avoiding you for the past two months. I didn't want to do it but I had no other choice. If I didn't, I would've lost my best friend."

"Big deal! Now let's go." Cole said, pulling her hand in a desperate attempt to get her away from me. 

"Terra, I'm sorry." I said, "You would've done the same thing if you were in my place, right?" I asked and she stopped walking with Cole. 

"I guess I would." She said, turning to me.

"Really?" Cole asked, "So, all I have to do is tell you to stay away from this asshole and you'll do it?" 

"Cole, don't stoop down to Addelyn's level." Terra told him, making me frown. "Unlike her, you'll actually give me a choice, right?"

Cole sighed, "Fine. But I'm warning you again, this guy does not do anything that does not involve sex. You can't trust him." 

"That's not true." I argued, "I just want to be friends." I said, facing Terra. 

"Friends?" Cole asked, letting out a sarcastic laugh, "You have a different definition of friends than the rest of us." 

"That's funny coming from you." I scoffed. 

"What do you mean?" Terra asked in confusion. 

"Terra, go sit in the car." Cole said. 

"But–" 

"Please", he said, interrupting her. She looked at me and I nodded, so she walked away. 

"Don't you dare say anything to her." Cole warned and I rolled my eyes. 

"Whatever", I shrugged, "I don't really care about your feelings for her." 

"Why are you such a dick?" 

"Why are you such a dick?" I asked back. 

"I'm the dick? You're the one going after the girl I love." He fought. 

"If you love her so much then why are you going after Lynne?" 

"Going after Addy? What are you talking about?" 

"Don't pretend like you don't know anything!" I shouted, grabbing his shirt in my fists. 

"What the fuck is going on here?" Asher's voice boomed before I was pulled away from Cole. 

"Cole, go home." He said before turning to me, "You, come with me." 

Cole glared at me before walking away as Asher pulled me out of the school.

"What the fuck are you doing? I told you that I'll talk to Addy and find out what's going on. Why are you causing a scene?" 

"I had no intentions to talk to him. He's the one who came in and interrupted me while I talked to Terra." 

"Again, with Terra." Asher rolled his eyes. 

"I'm going to go talk to Addy today and then I'll let you know why she's being like this. Until then, just don't cause any problems." He said and I nodded. 

We walked out to the parking lot where Hazel and Kate waited after their cheerleading practice. 

"There's my beautiful girlfriend!" Asher exclaimed as he wrapped his arm around Hazel's shoulder and placed a kiss on her cheek.

"You don't have to keep reminding me." She laughed.

"Can't I just appreciate the fact that I have a beautiful girlfriend and that her other boyfriend is not here for once?" He asked and she rolled her eyes. 

He smiled at her before pulling her in for a kiss which soon turned into a heavy make out session. 

"Where's Jack?" Kate asked. 

"He's striking a deal with the coa– Oh wait, he's here." I said as I saw Jack jogging towards us. 

"Babe, I can't come over tomorrow." He told Kate as he threw an arm around her. 

"Why not?" 

"Three weeks detention for bribing the coach." He replied and I snorted. 

"Jack, I told you not to do that again after what happened with your biology teacher." Kate said. 

"But I thought that the coach is actually a cool guy." Jack pouted.

"He made you run the whole period for being late and you thought he was cool?" I asked.

"Don't be mean to me!" He pouted more and I gave him an amused look. 

"Don't mind him." Kate said, shaking her head. 

I laughed and walked over to Asher before pulling him away from Hazel. 

"I'm leaving." I told him, "About Lyn–" 

"Yes, I'll talk to her." He told me before turning to Hazel. "I'm going to Addy's. Do you want to come?" He asked and she nodded. 

"Okay, bye." I said before getting in my car and driving home. 

I parked my car in the basement before entering my house only to see my dad sitting on the couch. 

"Hey, dad. You're home early." I smiled but he had a serious face on. 

"Blake, we need to talk."

Author's Note

You're going to see a lot more of Blake's POV for a while. And then we go back to it being mainly Addy's POV. But for the next few chapters, they're gonna alternate.

Sorry, if you don't like his POV. You just have to bear it for a few chapters.

And I'm too lazy to copy past my usual last few lines so; vote, comment, read, library, idk whatever shit I usually say.
