CHAPTER 20
Romantic Bonfires and Sex on the beach
"So, do you really want to go to the bonfire? Or let's just have sex in my car." Blake asked as he parked his car near the beach.
"Bonfire," I replied.
He thought for a while before speaking again, "Umm, do you want to go to the bonfire or have sex in my car."
"My answer remains the same."
"Do you really want to–" I cut him off by opening the door and getting out of the car.
I looked around and saw a couple making out on top of the hood of a familiar car. A smirk appeared on my lips as I recognized them as Jack and Kate. I walked over to them and pulled the back of Jack's hoody, making him tumble backwards.
"What the hell, Addy?" he asked, and I laughed.
"What idiot wears a hoody to a bonfire?" I asked. "That too during summer."
"Don't judge me! I didn't judge you when you wore heels to a marathon last year." He argued.
"I wasn't even participating."
"That's because they disqualified you for wearing heels." He reasoned and I rolled my eyes.
"Whatever. I could've made a record for the fastest runner in heels, but they never gave me the chance." I sighed dramatically.
"You wouldn't eve–"
"Can we stop?" Kate asked, interrupting Jack.
A hug enveloped me from the back, and I turned my head, smiling at Blake.
"Jack, are you wearing a hoody?" Blake asked incredulously.
Jack took a deep frustrated breath, "I'm leaving." He turned and walked away from us. Kate laughed before excusing herself and following behind him.
"So, I'm asking this one last time. Would you rath–"
"We're going to the bonfire, Blake." I turned around with his arms still wrapped around my waist and circled my hands around his neck. "We can have sex once we get home."
I stood on my toes and placed a soft kiss on his lips. Pulling away, I smiled and he pouted.
"That wasn't enough. I want more."
I laughed and shook my head, "Don't be greedy, Blake. After the bonfire, we'll go home and I'll let you do whatever you want to me." I purred, trailing a finger from the back of his neck to his chest.
"Fuck! I can't wait to get home." He groaned and I bit my lip, resisting the urge to kiss him again because if I start, we may end up going home right now.
I grabbed his hands and intertwined our fingers as we started walking towards the bonfire.
After looking around for a while, we found Hazel sitting on the sand with her head resting against Luke's shoulder.
"Hey guys!" I grinned as I reached them.
"What took you guys so long?" Hazel asked.
"Do you know how hard it is to drag this guy out of the house?" I asked, jabbing my thumb at Blake who stood next to me, rolling his eyes.
"Well, there's nothing fun to do her– Wait!" Blake said suddenly, "I just got the perfect idea."
"What?"
"Sex on the beach." He said.
"If you're talking about the drink, sure. If you mean it literally, not in a million years."
"But why not?"
"I hate it when I get sand on my feet. Do you really think I would allow it to get into places that I can't even see?"
"Why are we involved in this conversation?" Luke asked Hazel who shared the same horrified expression as him.
"I don't even know why we're having this conversation." I grimaced.
"We'll discuss this later," Blake murmured as he sat down on the ground next to Hazel.
"No, we won't." I shook my head.
I felt someone trip my leg and I immediately fell onto Blake's lap. He grinned as I turned around to glared at him.
"You didn't have to trip me. Nicely asking would've been amazing."
"But where's the fun in that?" He smirked before placing a light kiss on my lip. I smiled and wrapped my arms around his neck before pulling his lip back onto mine.
"If you're planning on doing the whole sex on the beach thing, don't do it in front of us." I broke off from the kiss and turned towards Hazel with a scowl as Blake gave her a cheeky smile.
"We're not," I said, making Blake's smile turn into a pout.
For a while, we sat silently, watching the bonfire as the flame grew with each blow of the wind. After a few minutes, Luke left to meet some friends, and I turned to Hazel.
"Where's Asher?" I asked.
"I don't know. I saw him with some girl forty minutes ago and now I have no idea," she grumbled.
Blake looked at Hazel before leaning closer to my ear. "He is having sex on the beach." He said excitedly.
"Oh my god Blake! Shut up!" I said before turning to Hazel who gave us puzzled looks.
"You don't want to know," I told her.
A shadow fell on us, and I looked up at Jack and Kate as they sat down with us.
"Why is it so hot?" Jack asked, fanning himself with his hand, "Why would you even keep a bonfire in the summer?"
"Why would you wear a hoody to a bonfire in the summer?" I asked him and he glared at me before facing Kate.
"Kate, tell Addy that I won't be talking to her for the next hour."
Kate laughed before repeating it to me and I rolled my eyes.
After a few minutes, Kate slowly nudged me. "The disgrace is here." I followed her line of sight and found Cole walking in a distance with none other than Terra Hale.
"Oh look, Blake. It's time for you ditch Addy," Hazel said sarcastically, and Blake narrowed his eyes at her.
Blake hugged me as I sat on his lap and placed a kiss on my shoulder. "I'm not leaving you," he said and a small smile appeared on my lips.
"I don't buy it," Hazel said blankly, giving Blake a challenging look.
I laughed. "Hazel, give him a break."
"Exactly!" Blake agreed, "Hazel is being extra mean to me today." He pouted. I repositioned my leg so that I would sit facing him and wrapped my arms around his neck.
"You won't leave, right?" I asked him softly so that we would be the only ones who hear this.
"I swear, I won't." He promised and I smiled before capturing his lips with mine. My grip around his neck tightened as he kissed me back, making me trust his words more and more with each second of it.
I pulled away from the kiss and gave him a smile which he returned.
"You guys should date already." Both our heads snapped towards Kate who gave us an evil smirk.
"Yeah, right." Hazel scoffed, "I give it one week before he cheats on her."
Blake glared at her, "Why are you being so bitchy today?" he asked. She huffed and turned her head.
"Is this because of Asher?" I asked her.
"No," she mumbled. "He could be with any filthy skank that he wants to be with. I don't care."
I gave her knowing look.
"Okay, fine. It's about Asher." She said.
"Why am I getting punished for his actions?" Blake asked, throwing his hands in the air.
"Because you're just like him." She huffed.
"No, I'm not." He argued.
"Yes, you are."
"No, I'm no–"
"Guys," I called, "let's not do this please."
"Fine," Blake huffed and I kissed his cheek, making him calm down.
I felt a pair of eyes watch us, so I turned around to see who it was. Terra was watching Blake and me with a sad expression and once my eyes met hers, she dropped her head down in disappointment.
I felt anger rise within me on seeing her. She had no rights to be upset when she was the one trying to stealing my man. He was rightfully mine, and I hated having her eyes on him.
I stood up from Blake's lap, and he looked at me questioningly.
"Come with me." I lent him a hand. He grabbed hand and pulled himself off the ground. "We'll go some place where people don't watch us," I said, glaring at Terra.
"To do what?" He smirked.
"Just come with me," I said, grabbing his hands, dragging him along with me.
"If you want to have sex on the beach, you don't have to be too shy to say it," he said smugly.
"Blake, I just want us it to be the two of us. Do you have any complaints with that?"
"Not at all. I've been dying to get you alone ever since we got here." He wrapped an arm around me, pulling me closer to his chest.
We walked until we reached a cliff ending around seven feet above the sea. Blake sat down with his legs dangling off the cliff before pulling me onto his lap.
"So, sex on th–"
"No, Blake!" I laughed as I wrapped my arms around his neck.
"Alright." He sighed.
I looked down at the sea. "What happens if we fall?" I asked him.
"I'll catch you." He grinned.
"You'll be falling too, dimwit." I said, smacking his head.
"Ouch! I was just trying to say something cute." He complained, rubbing his head.
"You're always cute." I smiled, pecking his lips.
He smirked. "Look at you piling me with compliments lately."
I rolled my eyes, "Don't get used to it."
"I like it." He smiled.
"Of course, you do. You're always so full of yourself." I joked.
He raised an eyebrow. "Oh, look who's talking."
"I'm one of the most modest people ever to exist." I praised with a smug look on my face.
"Sure, you are." He rolled his eyes.
"I am."
"You're beautiful." He said.
"I know. I always a–" I stopped in between when I realized this was a test. "I mean, well, thank you kind sir." I grinned and he rolled his eyes.
"I passed your test."
"No, you didn't." He argued.
"Yes, I did," I said and he let out a chuckle before locking his eyes with mine.
"I meant it." He said softly, "You are beautiful."
His stare made my heart pick up its pace, making me go silent as I locked my eyes with him. Compliments on my looks never flatter me, but something about the way he says it always hits my heart even if I never showed him.
But this time, my cheeks burned up and for some reason, I lost all my typical wit. I internally scolded myself for being so speechless and cleared my throat.
"And I mean it when I say that I always am," I said, returning back to my usual confidence.
He laughed, his laughter giving my heart a familiar flutter that only he could create. I bit my bottom lip, holding back a smile that forced its way on to my face as I stared at this gorgeous man that I loved.
I brought my hand up to touch his cheek, and he looked at my hand before turning his gaze to my eyes. I parted my lips and closing my eyes, I leaned in closer to him, allowing my lips to slowly brush against his.
But our lips never met as we were interrupted by a ping from his phone. He fished it out of his pocket before reading the text. "It's Terra. She said she wants to talk."
"Don't respond." I told him simply.
"I can't not respond. That's rude."
"It's not as rude as saying: Fuck off. I don't want to talk to you." I let a small laugh but he didn't return the enthusiasm. "You don't want to talk to her. Right?"
"It'll barely take a minute." He said and I felt my heart sink.
I took a deep breath and calmed down. I can fix this.
"Don't you remember what I told you, Blake? She'll never love you. She's going to forget all about you when she finds out about how Cole feels and would want nothing to do with you," I said coldly, watching his face fall once again.
"I know." He sighed. "I'll keep that in mind when I talk to her."
"But you won't be talking to her." I demanded.
"Lyn–"
"Blake, you said you won't leave me."
"I'm not leaving you, Lynne. I'll be right here and I'm not going anywhere," he said, caressing my cheek. "If you want, you could come too."
"I don't want to talk to her."
"You don't have to. Just come with me and stand somewhere close. Does that sound alright?"
I shook my head. "No, it does not."
"Lynne, I swear it won't take time. I just want to know what she wants to talk about."
"I'm not coming with you," I said. "If you want to talk to her so badly, then go ahead."
I stood up from his lap and dusted my clothes just as he got up too.
"But don't think that you could come back to me," I said, turning away and walking.
I felt his hand on my wrist and I scowled at him.
"Lynne, please don't do this again." He begged. "It was so hard the last time."
"Well, if it's so hard for you, then why do you keep going to her?"
"Lynne, why shouldn't I talk to her? I come back soon or you could come with me. I'm ready for any compromise."
"Compromise?" I asked, letting out a sarcastic laugh, "What you're compromising is your friendship with me."
"I didn't mean it like that." He sighed. "I just want to talk to her."
"Why?" I asked. "Is she so important to you that you would sacrifice our friendship to talk to her for five minutes?"
"I'm not the one sacrificing things; you are. Why're you threatening to end our friendship over those five minutes. Is me talking to her that big of a crime?" He cupped my face in his hands. "I you need to tell me why this bothers you."
"Because you like her, and I feel like a worthless slut you fuck before you go to someone you really care about," I snarled. "Like the second choice. If returned your feelings, would you stay?"
His eyes teared, and he placed his forehead on mine. "You're not a worthless slut. You're the one I care about, and feelings between Terra and I won't change that. I won't leave you, Lynne. You're my top priority."
"Then prove it," I said calmly.
"I'll do anything," he whispered.
"Don't ever speak to her again." I spoke sternly, "Can you do that?"
