CHAPTER 10
Lazy Afternoons and Displeasing Run-ins  

"Lynne, wake up"

I felt a light sting as I opened my eyes to see Blake looking down at me.

"I actually woke up before you." He said giving me a cheeky grin. I lifted my face to get a better look at him and noticed that that he was already in his uniform.

His smile fell as he looked at my face. He lifted his hand to my face and caressed my cheek, "Have you been crying?"

"Uh, I had a nightmare." I lied.

"Well, you're awake now. It's going to be fine." He said giving me a small smile.

As I see it, I'm still stuck in the nightmare.

"You don't look so good, Lynne. Do you want to stay home?" he asked looking concerned.

Not going to school sounded great. So, I gave him an affirmative nod.

"Okay then. I'll go change." He said.

"Why?"

"If you're not going to school, I'm staying with you."

"That's really not necess--" I started.

"Bullshit! I'm staying." He interrupted and started unbuttoning his shirt.

"Okay", I mumbled and snuggled my pillow trying to go back to sleep.

A minute later I felt the bed dip beside me. A strong arm wrapped around me and I went back to sleep enjoying his warmth.

I woke up and rubbed my eyes. I looked to my side and noticed that Blake was still asleep beside me. I slowly removed his arm from my waist trying not to wake him up. I got up and walked into the washroom to do my morning routine.

Blake was still asleep when I got back, so I walked out to the balcony to enjoy some fresh air.

A few minutes later, my phone rang. I looked down to see the caller ID which showed Cole's name and I answered it with a hello.

"You weren't at school today." He said.

"Nope. I decided to stay home." I told him, "Why is it that you called?"

"Did you hear that Blake asked Terra to the ball?"

"Yes, I did." I answered, "Why didn't you take her?"

"My mom wanted my date to be someone from a well-known family." He replied and I could feel him rolling his eyes. "So, I want you to be my date." He said, making me sigh.

"I'm flattered you thought of me, but I'll have to decline." I replied.

"Addy, please. My mom really like you. So, she'll approve of you."

"I'm sorry. But I'm not going to that ball." I said and hung up.

I walked back into my room and saw that Blake wasn't in bed. A few minutes later, he walked out of the bathroom and sat next to me on my bed.

"Hey, how are you feeling?" he asked.

"I'm feeling fine." I replied. "How are you feeling after last night with your parents?" 

"I don't know. I mean, it was a horrifying sight to see my mom murder that poor vase." He tried to joke and I rolled my eyes.

"But seriously, how are you feeling?"

"I'm not so happy with it but if they can't be with each other anymore, I think they should end it. They shouldn't stay together for me." He said and I nodded.

"They're really lucky to have a son like you." I told him making him smile at me.

I couldn't help but lean in and kiss him. I know I shouldn't because he likes Terra. But it's still not wrong. I mean, I should enjoy this while it lasts because I have a feeling this is going to end soon.

Thinking about it made my heart clench but all thoughts of it left my mind as he cupped both my cheeks in his palms and kissed me back. I pulled back and grinned at him.

"So, what are our plans for today? Netflix or sex?" He asked and I rolled my eyes.

"Neither. I sent my driver to get our assignments and homework from school. We're going to do those." I told him and he groaned.

"Can't we have a day off?" He asked wearing an adorable pout on his face and I shook my head.

"No, Blake. It's senior year." I reminded him, "Having a lot of sex isn't going to get you into college."

"Okay, fine. I'll study, but when I'm alone. When I'm with you, there are so many things I want to do." He buried his face in the crook of my neck and started placing kisses there.

"Blake", I moaned as he started sucking on my neck.

"Blake, stop" He brought his face up and rested his forehead on mine.

"Don't get distracted." I told him.

"Okay, fine." He said, "Let's go downstairs."

I nodded before leading him downstairs. After ordering Helena to make us some lunch, we settled on the couch.

"Are you staying here tonight?" I asked him.

"No, I'll probably leave in the evening. I have to pick up my suit and then I'm going home." He replied, "My parents were really freaked out yesterday when I left."

"Good. I'm going out with Hazel and Kate tonight and I don't trust you in this house alone with all the female maids." I joked.

"Ew, Lynne. I'm not going to fuck your maids." He grimaced and I laughed.

"With you, I can never tell."

"Your faith in me wounds me, Lynne." He said placing a hand on his heart.

"Stop being so dramatic." I said punching him lightly on his arms, "And come on, the food is probably ready."

Around six in the evening, Blake left to get his suit for the ball. Kate and I drove to the mall together where Hazel said she'll meet us.

"So, you're not going either?" I asked Kate.

"No. Jack and I are going to celebrate our seven-month anniversary." She grinned happily making me do a mental face palm.

"Really? Aren't you tired of doing this every month?"

"Of course not." She replied, "It involves cake and sex. What's there to get tired of?"

"And here I thought it's going to be filled with romantic dates with flowers and violin music."

"You really think I could keep Jack awake during those things?" She asked and I laughed as I shook my head.

I parked the car and walked towards the entrance of the mall where we met a very excited Hazel.

"You're in good a mood." I commented.

"Yes, I am." She replied, "Guess who asked me out on a date."

"Asher?" Kate guessed and Hazel shook her head.

"Luke", she replied making our eyes widen.

"NO!" Kate and I chorused together.

"Why not?" Hazel asked naively.

"Luke's my cousin. I don't want you to hurt him." Kate replied.

"And Asher's going to get hurt too." I said.

"You were the one who told me to make him jealous." Hazel pointed out.

"Yes, but it'll hurt him more if you're with one of his friends."

"I already talked to Luke and he's totally fine with my relationship with Asher." She told Kate and then turned to me, "And if Asher can be with other girls, I can be with other guys. No matter who it is."

"Fine" Kate said, "If you could promise me that you won't hurt Luke, I'll come help you dress up before the date." I nodded in agreement.

"I won't hurt him." Hazel promised.

"Okay, then. Let's start shopping." Kate said excitedly as she pulled us both into one of the stores.

"Hazel" I called as I eyed one of the dresses there, "You should totally wear this to ball."

She titled her head as she inspected the dress, "I like it."

"Addy" I heard Kate call, "Look at that."

I followed her gaze until I spotted Terra eyeing a night blue dress hung on one of the mannequins.

"That's a pretty dress." I commented with a smirk, "Too bad she can't afford it."

Hazel snickered beside me but Kate was more focused on a figuring walking towards Terra.

My smirk immediately dropped when I saw who the person was.

"She can't. But he definitely can." Kate said.

Terra looked up and smiled at Blake who returned the gesture. We watched as he called one of the saleswomen to help them with the dress.

"Addy, let's leave. This store isn't good anyways." Hazel pulled my arms and dragged me out of the store.

"Are you okay?" she asked once we were out.

I shrugged off the irritation I felt in my chest, "Of course I am"

"Let's go check the other stores." Kate suggested.

"Sure. But first, there's something I need to do." I said before walking a few feet away from them.

I fished out my phone from my purse and called Cole. Almost immediately, he answered making a smirk appear on my lip.

"About Saturday; pick me up at seven."

And do you feel bad for Asher? Or do you think he deserves to see his girlfriend date another guy who happens to his friend?

'Girlfriend date another guy' sounds so weird.........

Okay, I have two questions:

How many of you actually like Blake? Of course, no one likes that he's hurting Addy. But there are a few people who are trying to reason with his actions and likes his personality.

And how many of you like Terra? There are a few people who feel bad for her. I know that everyone understands that she did nothing wrong, but people still hate the fact that she exists.
