Chapter Two
I open my eyes to see the master and Sebastian inspecting my leg. "It needs to be put back in the socket," Sebastian whispers. The master sighs.
"Do what you must," the young master says. "Let me wake her first." The young master walks over to the bedside and shakes me awake.
"Master," I say quietly.
"We are going to fix your leg, okay? It will hurt a lot," he says. I nod. I feel Sebastian' s gloved hands on my leg. I tense. The young master whispers in his ear. I strain my ears to hear, and then, POP! I scream. Intense pain shoots through my leg. I feel hot tears stream down my face.
"Juliette, please stop screaming," Sebastian says. I close my mouth and breathe slowly.
"I apologize," I say. I sit up and attempt to swing my legs off the bed. A hand holds my hurt leg down.
"Juliette, you must not put weight on this," Sebastian says. I look around and notice my surroundings.
"But I am in the young master's room," I say. Sebastian smiles.
"Not a problem, right master?" Ciel scowls but nods. I feel a sense of unwanted presence, so I stand up and walk out of the room with my head bowed.
Ciel' s POV
She stands up and walks out of the room. Sebastian sighs.
"What, I said she could stay," I say. Sebastian chuckles darkly.
"Your body language inclined your displeasure for her presence," Sebastian says.
"What?"
"I believe you hurt her feelings, master," Sebastian says.
"Why should I care about a lowly servant' s feelings?" I ask.
"Master, you were just harsh, that's all."
I shake my head. Juliette, why are you so hard to understand.
Juliette' s POV
"Why should I care about a lowly servant' s feelings?" I feel my tears spill over and I quietly move away from the door.
"Are you alright?" I turn and see Finny standing there. I shake my head. Finny hugs me. "What is the matter?"
"My leg," I lie.
"You will be alright, your tough."
"Thanks, Finny," I say. He smiles and turns to leave. I slowly make my way down the steps of the mansion and into my quarters.
I lay on my bed and cry. My leg is in so much pain. I feel something wet and look at my bed. Blood is coming out of my leg. I grab a cloth and tie it around my leg.
There is a knock on my door. "Juliette, the master needs you to bring him his tea."
"Okay Sebastian." I stand and cover the bandage and limp into the kitchen. Bard is making dinner. I make the tea and put it on a cart. I limp into the master's study.
"Here you are master," I pour the tea into the cup and hand it to him.
"Juliette, grab the book and hand it to me."
"Yes sir." I limp over to the book and hand it to him. He held it and looks at me. I bow, and attempt to leave but I trip and fall, ripping off my cloth. I see blood poor onto the rug.
"Oh I am so sorry, master." I attempt to stand, but my leg collapses and fall right back down.
I hear the Master sigh, obviously annoyed. I flush in embarrassment. I hear him walk over and look at the mess.
"Juliette, when did it start bleeding?" He asks. I shrug and say, "around an hour ago." I try to stand again, but fail. I feel Ciel grab my arms to keep me from falling.
He drags me over to a chair and sets me in it.
"You need to have this properly bandaged. Why did you not speak out?" I sigh.
"I did not want to bother you, master." He looks away. There is a knock on the door.
"Enter," Ciel says.
Sebastian walks in, but stops. "Juliette, what did you do?" I bow my head in shame. I have completely made a fool of myself.
"She fell," Ciel says. I glance at him in shock. "Sebastian, attend to Juliette' s leg." He nods.
"I will clean up the mess, master," I say. He laughs. I look up in surprise, only to realize he is mocking me.
"I suppose you could," he says, "but I would not like any not blood on my poor rug."
I feel anger rise in me. "I saved your bloody life, you could at least show some bloody consideration!" I smack my hand over my mouth. Then, he does the unthinkable. Thwack! He slaps me across the face. Tears well in my eyes and I meet his blue eye. It is full of anger. I stand and run, ignoring the pain I feel. I run into Bard, but I push him out of the way and keep running.
