Chapter One
Mey Rin falls off the ladder as I bring the books from the attic to the young master. I step out of the way and allow her to fall on the couch. My master would be most upset if his books were damaged. I hurry up the staircase and through the corridor to his study.
I knock on his door. "Enter," he says. I enter his dark study.
"Master, I have the books you requested," I say. I concentrate my eyes on the floor, as it is polite.
"Thank you, Juliette, you may go." I bow at the young master and walk out of his study. When I am about to walk away, I see something flash in the corner of my eye. Then I see the barrel of a gun pointed at Ciel, and I act. I hurdle the desk and grab the young master. I push him under his desk and turn, just to see the man pull the trigger.
"Master! I pull him from the desk just as the man fired at it. I pushed him in front of me, to make sure any fire would hit me.
We rounded a corner. I heard the master cry my name. I turn and see a gun aimed for me. I was hit by a heavy object. I hit the ground hard. My ears began to ring and my head hurt immensely. Tears spring to my eyes, but I hold them back. "Master," I say. I can't see, so I call out to him.
"Don't worry Juliette, I've got you," I hear the master's voice in my ear.
I open my eyes and see Ciel staring at me with a concerned gaze. "Are you alright?" He asks. I nod. He stands, as do I.
"I will fetch you some tea, master," I say. I turn to walk away, but after a few steps, I feel a sharp pain in my leg and I grasp for something to support me. I did not reach anything in time. I fell. I feel someone catch me. I open my eyes to see Ciel holding me.
"Ciel," I whisper and black out.
Ciel' s pov
"Ciel," she whispers, and then passes out I stagger into the nearest room, which happened to be mine, and laid her gently on the bed.
Juliette, what am I going to do with you? Her dark brown hair is spread over the pillow she rests on. Her tan skin was soft.
I turned and saw Sebastian standing in the doorway, smirking. "What the hell was that?" I shout at him.
"The usual," he says, acting as if he wad bored.
"I could have died."
"But Juliette saved you. We should take a look at her leg."
"I still can't believe you put my life in the hands of a mere servant girl," I complain.
"Is she really just a servant girl to you?" He retorts, a smirk plastered to his face.
