Annabeth POV

Ever since me and Percy met I've had a crush on him.

When I heard that he had come of age and would be holding a selection I had to enter.

I'm getting ahead of my self.

My name is Annabeth Chase and I'm the daughter of Lady Athena and Lord Fredrick.

My mom died when I was 6 in a rebel attack. I'm the 'Lady' of Athens.

After my mom died my dad married the spawn of the devil Helen. She would always pretend to be nice and when my dad isn't here she treats me like Im the scum of the earth.

The only time I was happy was when I was at camp with Percy and his siblings.

I miss them so much. They are more of family then Bobby and Matthew my step-brothers.

I miss Coraline's sarcasm and quirkiness, Tyson's love of books, and Percy in general.

I was in the marketplace looking for the messenger for the royals.

I saw a line of girls. I didn't tell my anyone about me entering being I didn't have any friends.

Also if I told Helen she would have me drop out.

I head home hoping to not get caught.

When I get in my room I take out my photo album flipping though photos of me and the royal family.

My favorite is of me and Percy kissing. The Stolls took the photo and gave it to both me and Percy.

It was when we where at the castle and the rebel alarms went off and we heard rebels coming down the hall.

I was so sacred he would get hurt and I couldn't keep my emotions down so I kissed him and he pushed me into a safe room.

I remember crying alone cause I thought he got hurt or killed. After the alarms stopped a guard came to get me.

I found out late that he was ok. Also the Stolls happened to run down the stairs to get to a room when they found us and took a photo.

I continue to flip and I land on a photo of me, Thalia, Coraline, Hazel, and Bianca.

My eyes start to water as I remember we where leaving camp to go home.

That day there was a rebel attack and the palace in Italy and Bianca being the oldest was rushing them into her closet when the rebels came and grabbed her.

Nico said she went down fighting after closing the door to the room.

Just then my evil step mom Helen came in.

"Ugh what are you doing" she asked.

"Going through old photos" I said.

She grabbed it out of my hands.

"Give it back" I screamed at her.

"I think I will keep this one" she said ripping the photo out of the album.

"Give it back" I screamed chasing her out of my room.

"Whats going on" my dad says coming out of the study.

"She is yelling at me sweetie how disrespectful" Helen said.

I glare at her "Dad she took my photo of me and my friends" I told him.

"Whats the big deal its just a photo you have a ton of them" my dad says taking her side again.

"It was the last photo I ever have of Bianca" I said tears threating to spill.

Just then the tv flashes on with the Country's seal and anthem.

As we walk over to the living room I grab the photo and put it in my sweater pocket.

"I forgot today is the selection." my dad says.

I sit down on the far side of the couch.

The selection finally comes up and he goes through a bunch of girls.

Finally he is on Athens. I cross my fingers knowing I wouldn't be chosen.

Percy pulls two tickets out and drops one back in the bowl.

He looks at it shocked and then smiles "From Athens is Annabeth Chase."

They cut to the Royal family. The tv shuts off and silence follows.

"WHY DIDN'T YOU TELL ME YOU JOINED THE SELECTION" Helen screams at me.

Everyone stares at me "Because I knew you would never let me and I didn't even think I would get picked" I say calmly.

My dad looks at me and smiles "Well Miss Chase you should start packing for tomorrow you will be picked up."

I smile back and hug him "Thanks dad for not being mad" I run to my room to start packing.

The next morning I wake up and put on a light gray sundress with Athenian sandals and brush my hair.

I pull my suitcase out of my room and sit down waiting for the car to come.

I pull out my book on government. "You know he will never chose you, your just a worthless piece of trash" Helen says coming out of the shadows.

"Just leave me alone Helen" I say.

"He doesn't like you like you like him."

Thankfully my dad and step brothers come down stairs. I continue to read until there is a honk out side.

I grab my suit case and pause in the doorway hugging my dad.

"I love and wish you the best of luck" he says hugging me tighter. "Love you too" I say and leave the house.

A man comes out of the car and grabs my bags. "I got this ma'am" he says.

"Oh ok thank you" I say getting in the car and sitting down.

On the ride over I wonder if the Grace's and D'Angelo's will be there.

When we pull up there are 15 other cars there.

I get out and look around. The garden is amazing as ever. I walk over to a group of girls when one knocks into me.

"Oh My Gods I'm so sorry I wasn't paying attention to where I was going" the girl says.

"No problem its ok" I say helping her up.

She looks so familiar. "Piper McLean" she says sticking her hand out. I take it "Annabeth Chase."

She gasps "Your the girl Percy looked shocked by" "Well Seaweed Brain is like that met at Camp Half Blood." I say.

"Oh cool I went last year but didn't see you or the Jackson's." she says.

"Ya I wasn't there because I had to help with construction of a library" I said.

We continue to talk."So are we like friends or something" she asks.

"Of course you seem really cool" I say and we laugh.

Just then the Castle doors open and I see the royal family standing in the doorway.

Queen Sally looks elegant in her midnight blue dress. Coraline looks really pretty in a sweetheart midnight blue dress with sheer fabric straps.

King Paul looks handsome in his King attire and Percy and Tyson look very handsome in there Prince clothes. Especially Percy.

After all the formalities I see Coraline point me out and waves. I chuckle she is only a year younger and acts like a little kid when she is excited.

After being told all the rules of being a selected. We are escorted to our rooms. Mine is next to Piper's and there is a door connecting the rooms.

My maids come in. "Hello Lady Annabeth I'm Lily, this is Bella, and your head maid Michelle.

"Hi and please don't call me lady Annabeth just Annabeth please." I say.

"Ok" Lily leads me to the bathroom while Michelle makes the bath.

"For the first night you must wear something nice" Bella says. She looks about 12.

After my bath they put me in a gray robe and Lily starts working on my hair while Michelle gets my jewelry.

When she finishes I come out of the bathroom and see a gray beaded dress thats off the shoulders. Gray jeweled heels and my hair in a waterfall braid.

I say a quick thanks and head outside for dinner.

I met Piper outside and see she is wearing a baby pink dress with her hair in two braids.

"I love your dress" Piper says. "Yours too" I say.

When we get there the Royals enter the dinning hall.

"The Grace's and D'Angelo's will be joining us for the selection so please give a warm welcome to King Zeus, Queen Hera, Prince Jason, Princess Thalia, King Hades, Queen Miria, Prince Nico, and Princess Hazel" Queen Sally says.

I smile knowing that I can see my friends again. They sit at the royal family table and everyone starts eating.

I take some salad and chicken. Piper grabs some tofu and salad.

At the end of dinner King Paul stands up "Prince Percy will call you up one at a time to talk to you so you may talk amongst yourselves."

I turn to Reyna and Calypso and start up a conversation. After both of them are called up I turn to see that Thalia, Hazel, and Coraline aren't sitting at the table anymore.

I look around and see them sitting on the far side of the hall talking about Gods knows what.

Finally Percy calls out my name.

I gup and head over to him.

"What are you doing here Annabeth" he asks. "Um joining the selection."

"Are you here for protection from devil or" "Yes Percy I'm here for you to stand up to Helen" I roll my eyes and he looks disappointed.

"I'm here to be a part of the selection Percy that was a joke" I say and he looks up with hope in his eyes.

"So um Annabeth me and everyone are meeting up in my room and I was wondering if you would like to join us" he asked nervously.

"Of course I haven't seen you all in what feels like ages" I say and he hugs me. I walk back to my seat and see Hazel giving me thumbs up and Thalia making kissy faces.

After everyone is called I walk outside and I'm grabbed and dragged somewhere.

"Help" I scream only to be stuffed with something that smells like pine trees.

"ANNABETH" Hazel screams taking off the blind fold and hugging me like crazy.

"Hey Hazel" I say. "I'm so happy you joined the selection I can't wait for you to be my sister-in law" Coraline says.

"What do you mean Percy doesn't even like me like that" I say looking at my feet.

"Ugh your so blind Percy has had a crush on you since you guys met" Thalia says.

"Ya yesterday he was moping around because he thought you didn't enter" Coral says.

"Anyway are you joining us and the boys tonight" Thalia asks.

"Ya sounds like fun" I say and Hazel screams again.

"I'm so happy you here now we can reconnect."

"Who was that you where talking to earlier today" Coraline asks.

"Oh thats Piper she is really nice and my new friend" I say.

"I'm highly offended you've already replaced me" Thalia says putting a hand over her heart.

"Oh shut up no one can replace you guys but Piper is now apart of my Besties" I told them.

I hear someone running outside saying has anyone seen the Princess and Annabeth.

"Where are we exactly" I ask the girls. "In a closet."

Oh ok We get up and walk outside. I turn the corner and go down the stairs.

"Hey there you are I was looking for you" Piper says.

"Oh hey ya just got kidnapped by some old friends" I say joking.

"Oh cool."

When I get to my room my maids come in.

"Hello Miss ready for bed" Michelle said.

"Um actually I'm going to met up with some of my friends so could I just have some pajamas."

They nodded. They got a gray tank top with gray shorts from my suit case.

"Thank you" I said and walked into the hallway.

I made my way up a few sets of stairs. "Hey there you are come on" Thalia says calling me to the last door at the hall.
