"Peter Pan?" I asked, my words dripping with unbelief and awe. He smirked and puffed out his chest to make himself look tough. "The one and only." He added and I gave a small laugh. "But why are you here? You said you needed my help, but what for?" I asked taking precautions and stepping back. The joy in the young spirit's eyes faded. "There's... something wrong with Neverland.. and I needed the help of someone who truly believed so I sent my shadow to find someone. And I guess that was you." He focused his sad eyes into mine. I felt something stir in the pit of my stomach. Like thousands of little butterflies were being released and they soared all the way to my fingertips. I pushed a lock of sand colored hair behind my ear. "Come with me and save Neverland." He added as he stretched out his arm to me. I sighed. Why shouldn't I? There was nothing left for me in this world. All I had was an aunt who despised me, several crappy jobs, and a lonely school life. The only thing that kept my blood flowing were my stories and right now my favorite one was coming true. There is nothing else here for me. I took his hand. I felt something like a spark when my fingers came into grasp with his. He smiled genuinely before soaring out my window, trailing me he with him. I let out a small shriek but I couldn't stay scared for long. I was flying with one of my favorite fictional characters. I smiled, no laughed, with joy. I gazed down at the city lights. Many taxicabs and other vehicles were packed in traffic jams like sardines in a can. The sky scrapers towered up high like castles that I could almost reach out and touch. Soon we were over my favorite place in New York, Broadway. We flew over the brightly lit theaters such as Wicked, Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, and my personal favorite, Hamilton. We then carried on with our flight into the bay. The Statue of Liberty came into view, lit up perfectly like a lighthouse in her draping green gown. For a second I thought we were going to hit it at the rate of speed we were going. "Uh Peter?! Look out!" I shouted. But the young boy kept smiling with glee as we began to circle lady liberty and continued to fly off. We began to chase the second star to the right and straight on till morning. We were off to Neverland.
