"C'mon." Peter demanded as he grabbed my hand. Tinkerbell had finished giving the lost boys a pixie dusting and we all began to fly once more. "Where are we going?" I asked with slight sadness. "Away from here. We just can't live here anymore." I watched as the dark wailing cloud consumed Neverland. "But won't you grow up?" I asked and that question seemed to sting him. He didn't look at me but kept his focus on the horizon. "Yes." He said shortly. We were now above the trees. I felt a tinge of pain in my heart. My stories, that gave me hope in my world of sorrow, were dying. I couldn't just let this happen. Maybe Peter could, but I couldn't. Don't worry yourself, there's nothing more to do. I heard Tinkerbell whisper to me soothingly. But I've got to try. I'm not going to let the very thing that gave me hope when there was none just die. Peter now held me bridal style and we weren't too far above Neverland now. We could see the darkness consume hangman's tree and Peter's face fell. I wasn't going to let this happen. You can't stop it. Tinkerbell persisted. I will. Or die trying at least. I replied with sudden courage. What can you do?! She replied with screaming sorrow. Whatever I must. I looked up at Peter with his sad eyes. "Peter," I whispered and he looked down at me. "I'm sorry, I'm so sorry but I have to do this. I have to save it." I uttered between tears. He seemed confused but I leaned up and kissed him. He was shocked and loosened his grip from me as he pulled away in confusion and slight disgust. But this was exactly what I planned. I wiggled our of his grasp and fell several feet down into the same water I had cleared earlier. "Elyse! No!" Peter shouted. Are you crazy?! What do you think you're- I suddenly lost my connection with Tinkerbell. I assumed we were too far apart or it was the fact that my body had plunged into the cold water of the Neverland shore. This was it. It was time to defend Neverland and all I had was my rusty old sword, naked ambition, and a willingness to fight.
