63 (Naruto The Last arc)
Oki, this is going to be a loooooong note. But if you guys truly love me (as I love you guys), you would bare with me a read it. So, please do me a favour and just devote five to ten minutes before you start the chapter that I have laboured over just for you.
*If you didn't read chapter 62 before I posted this chapter, you can safely ignore the next paragraph and skip to the one after that.*
Hey guys, it turns out that I don't remember the movie as well as I thought I did, and Hinata did not, in fact, gasp, so for those who had read chapter 62 before I posted this chapter, I just wanted you to know that I changed the last sentence to, "But life doesn't always work that way since, at that very moment, Sakura heard Hinata say something about a glowing spring, and they descended towards a gaping cave in the side of the mountain." So there aren't any real big changes, but I just wanted it to be accurate.
For those of you who answered my question in the last chapter and said that you were a Harry Potter fan, I would just like to *cough cough* endorse *cough cough* a fanfic. So, a close friend of mine, Nathan (TestingTesting_123 ), decided to join wattpad and has posted his first fanfic, Mischief Managed, which is a Harry Potter fanfic. He only has one chapter out so far. He's being a butt at the moment and won't update no matter how many times I've made him promise to. Nathan, if you're reading this, you'd better update or I'm never doing you a favour ever again. Anyways, it would mean a lot to me if you guys only took a few moments to check out this fanfic and drop a comment or maybe a vote too~ It's really good and I'm not saying that just because I'm him friend!
Last bit! Keep reading cuz it steadily gets more and more important!
So I'm doing a contest, and it'll close by the time I post the next chapter. It's called "The Yes or No Question Contest". Creative name, right? (I'm soooo mad cuz this guy in my fencing class who literally just met me, like, three weeks ago and only sees me once a week was all like "you don't look like a very creative person" and I was all like, "Buddy, BACK OFF. IM CREATIVE ALL RIGHT. SHUT UP. GO AWAY." So yea... Anyways...)
So all you guys have to do is ask me a yes or no question in a comments and I'll answer them all in the next chapter's author note. The weirdest/funniest/overall most creative question will win a prize of a shoutout, a chapter dedication, and an inspired chapter! (And, yes, I did just make up that term). An inspired chapter is basically a chapter with a plot line that you made up! Just tell me what you want happening in the chapter and I'll write it for you!
Good luck guys!
Aaaaaaand now you can start the chapter!
"That's the shinobi letter A," Sai informed the group of ninja. "As in 'auo'."
Shikamaru nodded, "It could mean that this is the beginning. Hinata, what do you see at the bottom of the spring?"
Hinata looked more confused than even Rui, and Rui look very confused. "I don't know. My vision is distorted."
"Well that just mean we'll have to go and see for ourselves." Naruto announced, taking off his scarf. "I can't get this wet. It's very precious to me."
Sakura's temper flared as she glanced from Naruto's oblivious expression to Hinata's hurt one. "What's so special about that scarf anyways?"
Sai interrupted before Naruto could respond, "I don't think you'll need to take it off," He dipped his hand into the water, "When you touch this water, you don't get wet."
"Well, the time's ticking!" Rui sucked in a deep breath and dove in, Sakura not far behind him.
As they swam downwards, Sakura couldn't help but admire the surrounding stone that seemed to glow a soft blue hue, and the next thing she knew she was sitting on her bed with a familiar pair of legs dangling above her head. "Good morning, Sakura." Sakura didn't answer, a shiver of fear running down her spine. "You know, I'm not going to kill you, you're my student, so there's no need to be afraid to talk." Sakura still had no response. The Queen sighed. "I see this is going to take awhile."
Shoving her fear aside, Sakura spoke up, "What do you want?"
"I heard about the Chunin exams, and I've decided that it's time to start training."
Sakura suddenly found herself in a particularly gruelling training session.
"That hunter had the most beautiful eyes," The Queen swooned, "they were almost as nice as Hashirama's."
Tears filled Sakura's eyes as she was reminded of her master's boy craziness and huge crush on the first hokage. Although she often talked about them, Sakura always new that the Queen was too wise to ever fall for someone considering her situation and, well, age.
As the next flashback came along closely followed by another and another, Sakura allowed herself to be swallowed by them. She was well aware that she was caught in a genjutsu, but perhaps that wasn't so bad. It was so very tempting to just stay in her memories for now.
"My beloved student." A hand caressed her face lightly before moving on to twirling a lock of Sakura's bubblegum coloured hair between slender fingers. "Have I ever told you how much you mean to me?"
The Queen was stretched out in the sun like a lazy cat, right beside Sakura who was just resting after the morning warmups.
"Only a million times," Sakura chuckled as her master sat up, leaning on Sakura's shoulder.
A few stubborn tears leaked down Sakura's cheeks, but the Queen showed no recognition of this since it was only just a memory. "Hey, Sakura?"
"Yes?" Sakura's voice broke, but the memory played on.
"I hope you live a good and long life. I know that by teaching you all these things I will only just put you in more danger, but I hope you'll be able to protect yourself in the future. But make sure to have fun too! Go out out and save the world once in a while, enjoy yourself!" The Queen smiled. "But above all, stay safe no matter what. Promise?"
Sakura nodded through her tears and made herself push out of the genjutsu. Sitting up, Sakura found herself sitting on an invisible surface. There were bubbles both above and below her, each giving off a soft golden glow. She crawled over to Rui and pushed some of her chakra into him.
"AHHHHHHHHHH!" Rui suddenly bolted upright. Sakura has to jump backwards in order to miss getting head butted. "Oh. Sakura. Hello there." He smiled at her as if nothing had happened.
She nodded at him, crawled towards Sai. "Weirdo." She whispered under her breath.
"Hey!"
Soon everyone was awake, Naruto finally just opening his eyes.
"Where are we?" Naruto's voice still sounded drowsy from being in the genjutsu.
"A trap." Sakura explained. "Set by the enemy. It brings everyone who passes through here into a genjutsu."
Naruto nodded in understanding, slowly sitting up.
"Yes, it locks whoever gets caught into a world of memories. Thankfully Sakura could get out and save the rest of us." Shikamaru continued, nodding a praise at Sakura.
"Yes, thank you Sakura." Sai chimed in his usual blank voice. "I was having a lovely dream of being with my brother again, I appreciate you ripping me out of it."
"That doesn't sound like gratitude." Shikamaru chuckled.
Sakura was suddenly tackled by Rui. "Thank god you got me out of there! I was enduring a conversation with my dad." He shivered. "I haven't seen him in over fifteen years. I don't even know if he's still alive! And he scary." Rui continued to cling onto Sakura as she simply rubbed his back.
Well, that was part two of The Last, which was, again, requested by @Infinitys_Clouds , I hope you enjoyed it! Part three will be out as soon as I can get it out!
Merry Christmas everyone! I hope you guys have an awesome holiday full of laughter, fun, and good fanfics!
