The blonde medic's medical jutsu sputtered and failed as she stared, brown eyes wide, at the bodies pilling up before her. She silently mouthed the numbers as she counted them.

Someone kneeled down beside her, knocking her back into reality. The masked woman placed her hands on the patient's chest continuing what the other woman had failed to do.

"Will counting deaths help save lives?" Sakura asked the medic, remembering her from a few of her hospital shifts. Her name, Sakura remembered, was Lei.

Lei tore her gaze from the bodies and stared down at her shaking hands.

"N-no." She agreed weakly.

"So let's try to save those who still have a chance."

Lei nodded, and Sakura watched as she extended her arms, picking the healing process up again.

"Everything is going to be ok."  Sakura moved to get up, but Lei spoke before she could.

"Did you know that the phrase 'ok' was originally created during the second shinobi war? It was used to relay the message 'zero kills' on good days when nobody died." Lei's breathing quickened. "Nothing is ok!" Tears streamed down her face.

Sakura stared at the ground. Lei was right, 'ok' was definitely not the best term to use at the moment. The bodies were piling up around them, and the air was thick with the stench of blood. Injured were crawling into the medical camp, some with missing limbs, some with burns up and down their bodies, and some so severely hurt that there was no hope of survival for them.

Sakura couldn't find any words of comfort, so she decided not to use them. "You're right." She hauled herself to her feet. "I'm going to the front lines."

"But miss, aren't you a medic? Medics aren't supposed to fight." Lei looked at Sakura for the first time and gasped, her eyes widening. Tears were still dripping down her cheeks. "A-are you the Queen of Masks?"

"No, I'm her student. The Queen is dead." Sakura informed her. "I'm just going to continue on her legend." With that, Sakura raced towards the front lines.

"I want to become the Hokage." Sasuke stated calmly, staring at the hostile expressions of his former friends.

A laugh broke though the silence. A masked figure landed in a crouch near Naruto, in a near blown fit of laughter.

Sasuke eyed the pink hair. "Sakura?"

"Yes?" Sakura's laughter had receded to a mere chuckle.

"Sakura!" Naruto exclaimed. "You're back!"

Sakura nodded in Naruto's direction before directing her focus to Sasuke.

Sasuke was still eyeing her with mild suspicion. "Back?"

"Ah, yes, I kinda sorta went rogue." Sakura clasped her hands together, quickly changing the subject. "So, when are we gonna start fighting?"
