Sakura's eyes snapped open.
There was about two point five seconds of confusion before a piecing migraine took over her thoughts.
Sakura groaned in pain, slowly sitting up. She quickly disconnected the machines that were restricting her movement, noticing that they were the ones that they usually hooked up to coma patients, and rolled out of the hospital bed. Stumbling towards the bathroom, she opened the toilet seat and preceded to throw up.
Well, tried to throw up.
Her stomach was completely empty, and was twisting and churning in a very uncomfortable way.
When her heaving was finished, Sakura began to rinse her mouth, but immediately stopped once she caught a glimpse of her reflection.
Her hair, despite Sakura recently coming out of a coma, looked silky and shinny. Her lips were blood red, as if she was wearing lipstick. Her eyes glimmered brightly, even though the confusion that was currently clouding them, and they looked striking against her pale skin and pink hair. Her skin was smooth and blemish-free, and the dark bags below her eyes had vanished. Even her forehead seemed a little smaller.
In short, Sakura looked absolutely beautiful. How this happened, Sakura had no idea. She was pretty sure that people who just came out of comas weren't supposed to look stunning.
Also, why had she been in a coma in the first place?
And then it clicked, the memories flooding back. The Queen asking Sakura to meet her. The Queen giving her a necklace. The Queen lying, dead, on the ground.
She grasped her neck. The necklace was still hanging there.
Sakura was falling, her mind spiralling back into chaos. Tears welled up in her eyes, but an explosion brought her focus to the window.
Smoke billowed up from a building near the front gates. There were five more explosions, and the alarms sounded.
The village was under attack.
Sakura quickly slipped out of the skimpy hospital gown, put on her normal clothes (which she found under the bed), along with some shoes, and jumped out the window.
She landed in a crouch postion, closing her eyes and feeling for chakra signatures. She could feel the thousands of smaller sized civilian chakras heading towards the evacuation centre along with many genin leading the evacuation. There were jounin and chunin shattered thought the village, fighting six enemies.
The chakra of these six enemies were nothing like she had ever felt before. They were big and anonymous, but there was also something strange about them. It felt as if they had no will of their own. As if they were dead bodies being controlled like puppets.
Shrugging this off, she shot towards the location of the nearest enemy, Sakura traveled about two blocks down before she heard another explosion coming from the direction she was going it. This only urged her to go faster.
