A few people requested that I make my chapters a bit longer, so, just because I love all you guys so much, I've decided that I'm going to try to make all the chapters at least four hundred words!

Sakura sat down on the ground, and crossed her legs, getting into a position that she usually used for meditation. She could feel the stares of Naruto and Yamato as she focused on sensing Sai's chakra.

The night they were staying at the inn, Sakura stayed up late into the night familiarizing herself with Naruto's, Yamato's, Sai's chakra in their purest state; while they were asleep.

Much like breathing, chakra patterns tend to settle down when someone falls asleep, leaving them easier to memorize.

However, Naruto's chakra seemed to be going wild. Perhaps he was having a dream of some sort. It didn't matter either way, since Sakura already new Naruto's chakra pattern fairly well.

Sakura's eyebrows furrowed slightly as she concentrated. She could feel her range expand slightly. A bird flew past them overhead. Two deer, a mother and her child, trotted though a field nearby, the doe gracefully, and the fawn not so much.

Sakura expanded her range even more, and she felt the many different chakras of a group of hikers, who were exploring the forest about a mile away.

Sakura concentrated even harder before her eyes shot open. She had felt them. They were heading east and were around two miles away.

"He's heading east..." Sakura paused. "He's with Orochimaru."

Naruto's eyes widened slightly.

"Well, I guess we'll just have to go after him." Sakura said with a sigh.

She began to slid down the slope ahead of her, and into the large crater Naruto had made, growling at the twinge of pain that shot though her shoulder.

Naruto kicked the ground lightly. "What happened here? I-" He looked around the crater in awe. "I don't remember anything."

Sakura paused for a moment. "Orochimaru knocked you out before anything happened." She told him.

Naruto frowned in disappointment, but said nothing more.

Sakura noticed a large, red scroll along with some painting supplies in the corner of her eye.

She bent down and picked the objects off of the ground, examining them thoroughly. The scroll had a few, obviously accidental, splatters of black ink on it, but was otherwise blank. There was an empty jar that had most likely held ink, and a paintbrush.

Underneath the scroll, Sakura was surprised to see a small, square book. Flipping it over, Sakura noted that it had pantings of two young boys, one on each side. She thumbed though the pages quickly, starting from the side with a painting of a boy with black hair, and examined the different drawings of him fighting different enemies, each time acquiring the former enemy's weapons and armour.

When she came to an unfinished page, Sakura flipped it over and read the book from the other direction. She found similar results, and soon came to the unfinished page again.

This page had a drawing someone who looked much like Sai on one half, and the other half was blank. Not only that, but the boy on the right half, had nothing drawn in for his face.

Sakura frowned. Perhaps Sai was still working on it?

She shrugged and shoved the book into her hip pouch, quickly sealing the scroll, jar, and paintbrush into a small scroll of her own.

Sakura turned and began in the direction she last sensed Sai's chakra.

As they leaped from branch to branch, Sakura grit her teeth in pain. It didn't matter how much chakra she sent to her shoulder, the pain wouldn't subside.

On top of that, Sakura , for some reason, had began to feel the many months of nearly sleepless nights. Despite the adrenalin coursing through her veins, and the throbbing pain in her shoulder, Sakura couldn't stop a yawn from bubbling up her throat.

She seriously hoped that the concealer under her eyes was keeping up.

Sakura opened her mouth and sucked in a large amount of air, closing her eyes as she yawned. She knew she had made a mistake within a few milliseconds.

When Sakura snapped open her eyes, she had to narrowly dodge an oncoming branch. The movement in her arm caused her to cry out in pain, and clutch her shoulder as she fell to the ground.

Naruto, heard Sakura cry out, and immediately leaped into action, catching her right before she fell.

This was going to be a long trip.

759 words! Even longer than I had expected.... Well, whatever, I hope you guys enjoyed this chapter!
