Chapter 3. Off to Aster Manor
I part ways with the other girls as I head home. I step foot into the small cottage that I call home. Immediately being bombarded by my Parents.
"Adelina we are so proud of you!" My mom says first.
"We don't care if you become Queen, we are just proud you tried," My dad says next.
"H-how did you know?" I stutterd, surprised they suddenly knew.
"It's on the news sweetheart!" My mother exclaimed in excitement. She moved aside to show the TV broadcasting me and the other girls entering.
"Oh of course, silly me," I laughed whilst face palming.
"Adelina, I just want to say before you leave for Defi knows when. It's okay if you don't win. Don't let anyone stand in your way. And Honey, make friends!" My mom lectures.
"Thanks mom, I'll keep all that in mind. I have to go pack though," I beamed. I hugged my parents before heading up to my room. I grabbed my duffle bag I always use for traveling. I go into my wardrobe to pack all my clothes, from dresses to skirts to bras to anything. I then proceed to pack my hair products like my hairbrush and ponytail holders. I zip up the pocket and unzip the other one. I go into my bathroom across the hall and got to work finding all the important toiletries I'll need. I go back into my room and put them in the little pocket I unzipped. I unzip the medium sized pocket and put other necessities in it, like my phone and books. I'm not sure if we need to bring any bedding so I put my blanket and a few pillows in a separate bag. It felt as if I was going to a sleepover and not to something that could change my life forever. I sigh as I finish packing.
"Goodbye room, I am not sure If I will see you anytime soon or at all," I start. "But if I don't, goodbye, thank you for being my sacred place for 18 years." I end.
I pick up the two bags and make my way downstairs to say goodbye to my Parents.
"Mom, Dad?!" I yell walking down the stairs to announce I was there.
"Ade, don't forget to text or call us whenever you can!" My mom says first.
"Hun, we love you so much and are so happy you have a chance to do what you love!" My father says next. I give them a big smile as tears threaten to cascade down my face.
"Goodbye Mom and Dad, I love you guys so much,I'll see you soon," I say finally bursting into tears.
"Darling, It's okay we'll see you in a few months!" My dad says.
I hug them one last time before I leave my house.

I arrive at the fountain where I saw the twins, Romain, and Ms. Auguste. They were standing right beside a carriage. Rosalinde waved excitedly at me whereas Antionette just gave me a smile.
"I can take your bags Ms. Belrose," Romain says, holding his hand out. I give him my bags and walk over to the twins.
"Don't you find it strange we haven't met 'till today?" Antionette asks.
"It's like the author made it this way," Rosalinde states.
"Don't mind Rosie, she likes to think we're in some sort of book," Antionette whispers just loud enough for us three to hear.
"Hey!" Rosalinde says slapping Antionette on the shoulder causing me to laugh out loud.

The carriage drives up a hill towards a victorian style manor. I learned about this Manor during a history lesson. It was called the 'Aster Manor' where all the potential Queens go to learn how to be the best of the best. I looked at the twins and Rosalinde looked ecstatic whereas Antionette was just giving her hands a stoic look.
"Alright Ladies! We've arrived time to get out and meet the other candidates," Romain said as he opened the carriage door. I stepped out and my eyes immediately saw two girls. One with stereotypical fiery red hair, the other with blonde hair. The red head seemed to brighten with joy as everyone steps out of the carriage whilst the blonde just looked uninterested.
"Ladies, please meet Princess Cassa," Ms. August started; nodding towards the red head, "And this is Princess Ivonna," she finished; nodding towards the blonde.
"Princesses, this is Rosalinde and Antoinette," she started again; this time nodding towards the twins, "Finally this is Adelina," she finished.
"It's so nice to meet you Gals!" Cassa exclaimed.
"What Cass said," Ivonna added.
"Nice to meet you, your highnesses, too!" Rosalinde exclaimed with the same energy as Cassa. Antionette and I just waved. Ivonna rolled her eyes at our actions.
