*2 weeks later*

James set up ten clay targets all around the safe room as Daisy walked in, full of energy.

"Ready to go?"

She nodded as she bounced up and down, "absolutely."

He stepped to the back of the room, "alright, go!"

She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She opened them and extended her arms, aiming them at each target.

All ten targets were destroyed in a matter of less than thirty seconds.

James clapped and set up the glasses, playing a note.

Without wavering, Daisy held each note on every glass without shattering them.

James' smile grew even wider. He ran over to her and high-fived her.

She laughed as she hugged him, "I did it!"

He set her down, "darn right you did! Now for the ultimate test, are you ready?"

She nodded, semi-nervously.

He put a comforting arm on her shoulder, "don't worry you've got this, I trust you," he paused and then added a second later, "just don't kill me."

She flashed a cocky smile at him, "nah, I like you too much to kill you."

He wiped fake sweat off of his brow, "well that makes me feel better."

He sat on a chair in front of her and she closed her eyes, wanting to take her time with this particular trick. She listened as hard as she could and she heard a loud 'thump thump'.

"I can hear your heart!"

He smiled, "ok great. Now I'm going to do a few jumping jacks and I want you to try and bring my heart rate down, got it?"

She nodded as she watched him do one-hundred jumping jacks.

After he finished he stood up in front of her. She extended one hand and tried to clam his heart.

"It's not working, it's only letting out a small pulse."

She stepped closer and rested her hand on his chest, right over his heart.

She felt his heart rate pick up and she opened her eyes and smirked at him before closing them again and concentrating.

After about fifteen seconds she finally got his heart rate to calm down. Or maybe his heart just did it on its own. Or, she smirked as she thought about it, she calmed his heart about thirteen seconds ago and just liked being close to him. He made her feel safe.

She stepped back and opened her eyes, "can I try again?"

He nodded and did one-hundred sit ups.

When he was done she walked up to him and rested her hand on his chest, successfully calming his heart in three seconds.

He felt his heart jump a little and after that it was at its normal pace. He smiled, "you did it!"

"I did it!"

Daisy walked to Ben's room and knocked on the door.

"It's open."

She opened the door and he looked up, "oh, hi Daisy. What's up?"

"I've decided that I'd like to stay and help you guys take down Hydra."

He smiled at her, "I knew you would!"

He hugged her, "it's great to have you aboard.

She smiled, "it's great to be wanted somewhere."

"What do you mean by that?" he said as he set her back down on the ground.

"Well for the longest time I was an orphan. I was constantly being put through foster home after foster home."

"Well, Daisy, you are certainly welcome to call this place your home."
