Water 🌊
Cole's POV
"So Sensei, how should we approach this situation?" Zane questioned, as our gray bearded teacher looked at his staff, deep in thought.
After everyone had gotten up the mountain, we immediately rushed here. And just like Jay suggested... we're relying on Sensei.
We waited for awhile, but no response came.
"Uh you wanna speed up a little? Morro is gonna be here any-"
"SECOND?" A loud voice finished for Vivi.
Ah Morro, right on cue.
"Oh, it's you," Vivi sneered, dissatisfaction apparent in her silvery voice.
"SO YOU THOUGHT THAT YOU COULD TRICK ME, HMM?" He yelled, sending strong gusts of wind in our direction.
"I mean, it worked," Vivi shrugged, completely unaffected by Morro's attempt to appear intimidating.
Sure worked on me though.
Morro looked down for a second, his head slightly tilted.
Pfft, guess he's finally hearing the words that came out of his mouth.
He shot it back up within seconds, putting his villainous mask on once again.
"THAT MEANS NOTHING! SHOW ME TO YOUR SENSEI!" He demanded, sending another blow of wind to our faces.
"What are you, blind?" Vivi rolled her eyes, raising her voice so that Morro could hear her over the sound of his own power.
With a look of confusion sketched into his expression, Morro searched the inside of the monastery.
Finally spotting Sensei Wu, who was RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM THE WHOLE TIME, Morro floated towards him, though he went so quickly, it was as if he teleported.
"Nuh uh ugly," Kai said, bravely coming between Sensei and his former student.
Ugh, he needs a reality check.
"Kai, you know that's still Lloyd right?" Nya sighed, looking at her brother like she'd never met a more stupid human being.
Kai rolled his eyes. "But Morro possessed him! Lloyd's the only good looking thing left of that" The red ninja replied, looking at Morro with disgust.
Morro flew dangerously close to Kai's face, until it was merely an inch away from his own ghostly figure.
"Watch your tongue," He warned, narrowing his eyes.
Vivi chuckled, theming herself into the situation. "Finally! Wind man found his inside voice."
I held in a snicker, whilst Jay let one out, not caring about the green monster that is left of Lloyd in front of him.
I mean not that he doesn't care, he just doesn't realize it.
"THE SAME GOES FOR YOU MIND LADY!" Morro screamed, aiming strong currents of wind at our Vivi.
Activating her almost transparent shield, she managed to block the attack.
"Mind Lady??? Of all the names you could've chosen..." Vivi trailed off, rolling her eyes at the sound of her new nickname.
I wonder what he would call me. Hopefully not Boulder brain, ugh I HATE that one.
It seemed like time itself had froze while we stood, waiting for Morro to say anything.
Of course, he did not say a word.
Just goes to show you that nothing ever goes our way in ninjago, and it probably never will. Welp, at least we got a purple ninja now.
And a cornered ghost/possessed green ninja.
Then again, Sensei is cornered too, but let's not think about that right now.
"So why did you want to see Sensei anyway?" I asked, breaking the weirdly deafening silence.
Morris snapped his head towards Wu, and glared at the old man. "You. You said I was the green ninja. You told me it was my destiny, and then told me it was a mistake. So now, I'll prove it to you. I'm
More powerful than this kid that you call the green ninja. I AM the green ninja!"
"You came back from the dead just to say all that? " Vivi scoffed, unimpressed.
"Not say. Do." he corrected, snatching Sensei's staff abruptly.
"My staff!" Sensei gasped, his mouth agape.
Instinctively, all us ninja ran toward Morro as fast as we could.
...But he froze.
"Augh! Let me GO!" He cried, struggling to regain the ability to move.
Vivi!
"How the heck would we do this without ya sis," Jay smiled, skipping over to Morrow and plucking the staff right out of his hands.
"NO! GIVE IT BACK! GAH CURSE THIS HUMAN BODY!" The ghost seethed. By the look on his face, I can tell he was trying to thrash around or something.
I mean, the dude looks constipated.
"You want it? Come and get it!" He teased, dangling the staff in front of his face.
"G-guys..." Vivi stuttered.
My head immediately snapped in her direction, and-
Oh no.
"VIVI!" Kai, Jay and I exclaimed.
She was down on one knee, and clutching her head. Her luscious hair sat clumped up in her tensed hand, while her face held an extremely stressed expression.
Two constipated looking people, but one much more beautiful than the other.
Sorry, I'll shut up now.
"What's wrong?" Jay whispered, waking over to comfort his sister.
Kai and I stayed back, and looked at each other.
He looked just like me: terrified.
Vivi forced open an eye which was clamped shut before, though it looked like she was struggling too. Poor girl seems to be in a whole lot of pain.
The twins whispered back and forth, before Jay finally turned to us, his eyes wide.
Quickly turning back around, he helped his sister up, as she quickly collapsed into his arms.
"Finally! FREEDOM" Morro yelled, spiraling up into the cold air.
Yeah, nobody cares.
"What happened to her?" Kai whispered to an approaching Jay.
"While she was controlling him, he did something to her. Usually she's able to withstand anything trying to break her hold, but she just couldn't this time." Jay responded, sorrow gleaming in his eyes.
"Will she be okay?" I softly asked, looking upon her clam, still face.
"Who cares? Heck I hope she dies! She the only one who has a chance against me!" Morro snorted, following up with an evil laugh.
"Shut up, you green wannabe!" Kai scoffed, throwing a random pebble at him.
Morro dodged it, and flew over to collect Sensei's staff.
We all ignored him. He's irrelevant right now anyway.
Zane bent down to scan Vivi, who is either asleep, or unconscious.
After a few quiet moments filled with toned down beeping, he stood up.
"Well?" Jay asked, switching between looking up and Zane and down at his sister.
My focus of course, was on Vivi.
But so was Kai's.
Kai's POV
"She will be okay, she just requires a lot of rest. Vivian has been overworked. Too much stress as well." Zane diagnosed, straightening up again.
"Overworked?" Nya asked, glancing at Vivi from a distance.
"She has been working too much. I suspect that her power has been overused." Zane explained.
"Oh."
"I get why she's been stressed." I sighed. "Maybe we put too much in her. She did just become a ninja."
I looked down at Vivi's moonlight face, just now noticing how serene she looked. She looked genuinely relaxed, an uncommon feeling for a ninja.
I mean, our job is saving Ninjago, of course we get stressed sometimes. It's a lot of weight and responsibility to carry around.
"So she's stressed about the mission?" Jay asked, he voice at a low quaver.
And trust me, Jay is never quiet.
"Well yeah, but it's more than that. Think about it Jay, her main job is to protect Lloyd, which she failed to do on her first mission. Of course she did better than any of us could've, but she doesn't know that. She probably thinks this whole thing is her fault." I replied, my face softening at every word.
"Huh, I never thought about that." Jay said, deep in thought. "But why would she think that way? Doesn't she know how awesome she is? I mean if I were in her place I wouldn't feel bad at all."
"Oh trust me, she does." I chuckled, as memories of Vivi at her most cocky moments ran through my head.
Y'know, it's weird how I feel like I know her personality so well already.
"That because you make so many mistakes you forgot how to feel bad Jay," Cole pointed out, earning a snicker from everyone.
"Wait a second. Where did that goon go?" Nya asked, suddenly remember the purpose of us being here.
My head snapped to where the staff was, and just like I suspected, it was gone.
"Great. He took it," I groaned, facepalming.
"Ninja, come over here." Misako called out gesturing towards the other side of the room.
We shot glanced at each other, before Jay propped Vivi up against a wall and we made our way over there.
Once we arrived a few seconds later, we discovered a white powdery substance on the floor, with three symbols imprinted in it.
"What's that?" Cole asked.
"It was made by Wu's staff earlier. He dropped it and knocked over a bottle filled with this powder." Misako explained.
"I don't believe it" Sensei gasped, entering the conversation. "What if...what if this is the map leading to my fathers tomb?"
"A map? it looks like a bunch of random symbols to me." Jay claimed, examining the marks in front of him.
"Well, more like clues" Sensei restated, arching his back down lower to better examine his clues.
"Misako, would you be able to decipher these?" Zane asked, after a long while of staying silent. "I just scanned them and found nothing in my database."
"Well, I can try..." Misako agreed, already working.
"Well, what do we do?" I asked, tapping my foot impatiently.
"We're gonna take Morro down." Jay cheered, smiling.
Though suddenly, his face turned dark. "After what he did to my sister, I'm gonna end him." The lightning ninja whispered eerily.
Wow scary Jay is...Scary.
"...ookay then." Cole awkwardly responded, taking a few steps back.
"What about me?" Nya questioned, staring at the two adults for instruction.
Wu and Miskao shared a glance, before whispering back and forth.
"Whats going on?" Nya asked me, turning around with a raised eyebrow.
"No clue," I said, observing the suspicious adults.
Wu finally faced us again, looking defeated.
Wow, seeing Morro really did a number on the old guy, huh?
"Nya...come out with me," He eventually spoke, motioning towards her before he leaned down to pick up his staff...
...Which Morro had taken.
Sighing, he straightened up and walked out the door.
Poor dude.
Nya's POV.
"Well, bye guys. See ya Jay, hope Vivi's okay," I called out, before sprinting after Sensei.
After catching up to him, I slowed down to an effortless walk.
"So, why are we out here?" I asked, receiving nothing whatsoever from Sensei's end.
"UH, hello?" I asked again, this time looking him straight in the eye.
Still nothing.
Ugh, whatever.
I didn't question him any further, but instead followed him up to a nearby pond.
It was really serene. The blue, tranquil waters danced in ripples, formed by the miniature waterfall above it. Structured lily pads floated above almost crystal clear liquid, providing a resting spot for the many creatures I assume live here. The greenery around it framed it off perfectly, the trees and shrubs glowing with life.
It was so...calm.
Trust me, you forget what calm feels like after living with five crazy ninjas.
"Whoa, this place is amazing," I smiled, as my eyes took in the perfect image in front of me.
"Yes, it is." Sensei agreed, finally opening his mouth. "Nya, did you know that your parents were elemental masters?"
"Well yeah, you've mentioned it before" I nodded, trying to recall the memory. "My dad was the master of Fire, like Kai."
Sensei smiled, and averted his eyes from the waters to me. "And your mother?"
Mom?
"Uh, wasn't she just... I don't know, a mother?" I answered.
I really know nothing about my mother, huh?
It's kinda...said. I really wish I had gotten to know them, even if it was just a little bit. Even just a sliver of them would be nice to hold on to.
"Your mother had the same elemental power as you. Master of water." Sensei concluded, his joyous expression now wiped clean and replaced with dead seriousness.
I swear if he didn't look so stern right now, I would've laughed.
"Me? Master of water? Look, it's cool that mom had an elemental power and all, but what makes you think that it got passed down to me? I'm a Samurai!"
That smug smile of his returned, "Nya, you were a Samurai. Now, you must train to become a ninja. Water is the only way to stop these ghosts once and for all, and with the artifact Morro stole, he'll be able to summon more of them."
Great, more green wannabes.
"I still don't believe you, but whatever," I sighed, turning away from the old man to face my so-called element.
"What's first?"
Jay's POV
She said bye to me! NYA SAID BYE TO ME!
I mean, she did dismiss herself to everyone else, BUT SHE DID ME SEPARATELY!!
My face glowed with happiness, as I turned to my other fellow ninjas.
"So, what's up first guys?" I asked, somehow eager to begin.
"First we need Vivi." Kai sighed, switching his gaze to my still sister.
I swear if he gets any closer to her I will END HIM, as well as any brotherhood we share.
Still, I want Vivi back too. Staring at her in that state made my joy slowly seep away.
"We should wait for her to recover, or at least wake up." Cole suggested, now looking at Vivi herself.
To be honest, I can kinda see Cole with Vivi. He's a good guy, and they get along pretty well, though I'll never EVER tell him that.
Kai and Vivi are too alike. Kai has broken enough hearts, this one is staying whole.
Vole over Vivai.
...Yeah I'll leave the ship names to Vivi.
Either way, as long as Vivi is happy I'm happy.
But I must approve.
A non-ninja is preferred.
Anyway, enough talk about this.
"Yeah. Vivi and I started this together, and we'll end it together." Kai announced, his eyebrows creased with determination.
"Well, you will have the rest of us backing you two up all the way!" Zane added.
Hmph.
A/N
Hey guys! Thanks for reading! :)
