Nya's POV

This.
This is stupid.

"Ugh, why isn't it workingg!" I groaned, frustrated at the clear liquid for its lack of cooperation.

"Patience Nya. It will come to you. The power of water is within you." Sensei calmly spoke, sipping his tea from a distance.

Ha, of course he's drinking tea. What else would he be doing?

"Oh come on! This isn't right! It isn't me! I'm not the water ninja, I'm a Samurai!" I retorted, angrily kicking at the water.

Finally looking up from his beloved tea, Sensei waddled over to me, a bit unsteady due to the lack of his even more beloved staff.

Well, maybe. He might love tea a little more.

Grabbing a bucket from behind a nearby rock, he handed it to me. "Here. Fill it with water. It's a simple task."

Finally! Something I can do!

"Got it!" I exclaimed, cheerfully excepting this request.

I plunged the bucket into the mini lake, making  sure to fully submerge it.
After waiting for a few seconds, I pulled it back up.

Not wasting a second, I immediately turned to Sensei Wu with the full bucket in hand. Heck, I didn't even look back at the thing.
"There! All-" I started, but was rudely interrupted by the sound of water gushing out from a hole underneath the wooden pail.

"WHAT!!?" I exclaimed, shocked that the water didn't stay put.

A sly smile found its way into our teachers face, framed by his stringy white beard. "I said it was simple, not easy." He chuckled, walking away with his hands loosely resting behind his back.

Oh no he didn't.
He DID NOT just leave me here with another impossible task.

"Keep going until you get it! I'll come check on you in a bit!" He called out behind him, before disappearing into the depths of the monastery.

Oh that old man's gonna get it.

Cole's POV

"So, how do we plan on capturing Morro? We have no idea where the dudes at" I pointed out, questioning our next move.

"Well maybe Misako has deciphered a clue by now. If Morro was after the staff he must be after the First Spinjitzu masters tomb!" Zane exclaimed, noting his inference.

"Yeah good point, let's go check on her." Kai nodded, as the three of us started walking in her direction.

"Hey Jay, ya coming?" I asked, noticing his absence.

"Uh, you guys go on. I'm gonna stay here with Vivi for awhile." Jay said, his back turned to us.

He didn't even look at us while he spoke.

I tried to reach out and comfort him, but was blocked by the hand of the fire ninja.

"Leave him be, it's better if someone's with her anyway" Kai softly advised, whilst I dropped my arm back to my side.

"Okay then." I sighed, as my best friend returned to the aid of his still unconscious twin sister.

"He's never gonna feel better unless he knows Vivi's alright, trust me I know the feeling. The kid can barely fight on his own, this kind of distraction would really do a number on him" Kai explained, and we strolled over to Misako.

"Actually, Jay has slightly higher fighting statistics than you Kai." Zane reported, earning a glare and an eye roll from Kai.

I snorted to keep from laughing, just as we reached Misako's corner.

She stared at the symbols still imprinted in the floor, completely stone-faced.

She didn't even notice us walking in.

"Er, hello?" Kai spoke, rapping at the door to gain Lloyd's mothers attention.

Her head snapped in our direction, as our presence become known.

"Ah yes hello boys! Sorry I was a bit distracted with these." She apologized, motioning towards the marks she was studying.

"Yeah we noticed" Kai replied, unaware at the slight tinge of annoyance in his voice.

We shrugged off the comment, and got back into our conversation.

"So Misako, you got anything yet?" I asked, leaning over Zanes shoulder to glance at her work station- AKA the floor.

"Ah, yes actually. After looking through some old scrolls, I've discovered the meaning of the first symbol. I have an idea of what the second might be, but the third is a complete mystery." She concluded.

"Okay, good at least we have one. What is it?" Kai asked.

"The first mark is Airjitzu. An ancient art form created by Sensei Yang." Misako answered, while adjusting her glasses.

"Airjitzu Huh?" Kai muttered, deep in thought.

"Do you believe that we must learn Airjitzu?" Zane pondered out loud, getting on his knees to better examine the markings.

"If you wish to learn the art of Airjitzu, Sensei Yangs scroll lie in the museum"  Sensei's frail voice claimed, as he slowly walked into the room.

Kai nodded, his expression fixed and determined.
Wow, I've never seen him like this. Its... well it's weird.
"Well, we need to get going now. Morrows probably already on the verge of figuring the clues out." The fire ninja declared, hastily.

Sensei nodded in agreement. "Go ninja. Go."

Jay's POV

"Come on Vivi, wake up!" I silently urged.

I just got her back, I can't lose her again.

It's like I always losing someone isn't it?

First Nya to Cole, and now Vivi  to... well morro I guess.

I know Zane said that she'll be alright, but I can't help but worry. I mean I know he's a nindroid and all, but what if he's wrong? Just this once?

Sighing, I stared back at Vivi's still face.

Her breathing was slower than usual, but stable.

I sat right next the her, with my back against the wall like hers.
She ended up leaning on me, but I don't mind. I actually kinda like it. It makes me feel useful for once, and not like the clown of the team.

Being an older sibling, it makes you feel like you have this responsibility. Like your in charge of something, something important. I never get that as a ninja, mostly because nobody really takes me seriously. I don't blame them, but it feels nice being even remotely reliable once in awhile.

"Whmm?" A voice groaned, as my attention diverted back to my sister.

"Vivi? Are you awake?" I whispered, gently shaking her.

She put her hand on mine to stop me from rocking her, and slightly nodded.

Her eyes were barely open, and her hair was a bit messy but overall still fairly neat.

She looked like she just woke up from a rough, sleepless night.

"Jay my h-head hurts" Vivi groaned, resting her crown on her knee.

"Hang in there. I'll get the others" I whispered, before doing my best to silently run.

"Hey guys! Vivi's up!" I hissed, once I made it to where Misako and the other boys were at.

"Really?!?" Cole and Kai exclaimed together, earning a glare from me. "Yes idiots, now shut up and come!"

"Takes one to know one." Kai snickered, before walking ahead of me to the main room.

Rolling my eyes, I followed.

"Hey, is Vivi doing alright?" Cole asked, now beside me.

"Actually, I'm not sure, but she definitely isn't completely fine." I mumbled, looking down at my feet.

Argh, I'm her brother, I should've looked after her! I should've noticed that she wasn't feeling well.

"Hey don't worry about not being there for Vivi." Kai said, making me jump.

Wasn't he ahead of Cole and I-

"It felt weird walking there alone so I waited for you guys" Kai explained after reading our expressions.
"Look, I'm a brother too. I know what it's like just chill okay? I mean, she probably didn't even know she was overdoing it."

She probably didn't know...
"Yeah that's not possible Kai, Vivi's just like Cole. She hides all her weaknesses." I sighed.

"H-hey! Whats that supposed to mean?" Cole pouted, though nobody answered.

We walked in silence the rest of the way, until we found Vivi crouching down still, with her head in her knees and her hands tightly snaked around her legs.

Cole's POV

Oh no, poor Vivi.
She doesn't look good.

Well, I mean she looks great still, just you know-
Ah forget it.

Jay sped up after being reminded of Vivi's condition, and so did Kai, Zane and I.

"Wait, allow me to scan her." Zane said.

Reluctantly, Jay backed away, leaving Zane to his Nindroid stuff.

After a surprisingly short time, his eyes lost their glow, signaling that he was finished.

"She's physically fine, probably just exhausted." He diagnosed.

To confirm, Vivi held up a thumb, and then pointed to her head.

"It hurts right?" Kai asked, getting another thumbs up.

She probably can't nod or something.

"Ugh, Morro's gonna be sorry he ever step foot here." Kai grumbled, getting an nod from Jay.

"Wait, but how did he get here?" I wondered aloud.

He should be in the cursed realm right?

"I also wonder how he ended up among us." Zane replied.

"Well whatever, he's here now and he needs to leave." Kai announced.

"Hey Vivi when do you think you'll be able to get up?" Jay whispered, bending down to Vivi's level.

She didn't respond, and barely moved.
Guess she can't move for awhile.

"Let us give her some rest. She'll be able to join us soon enough, and Nya and Misako as well will be here for company. Wu too." Zane suggested, as Jay nodded with a sigh.

"See ya sis." He said, walking out the door behind Zane.

"You guys go ahead, I'm gonna say bye to Nya first." Kai announced, lighting up Jays eyes.

"Can I co-"
"No" Kai interrupted, sending a defeated Jay out the door with Zane and I.

Something's definitely not right. He was so determined to hunt down Morro a few minutes ago, and now he just wants to casually say bye?
Yeah he's up to something.
Not much I can do though, plus it's not really my business. I don't really want to get involved anyway. Kai gets himself into the worst situations ever, and barely manages to get out.

Let's just hope de doesn't do anything too stupid.

Kai's POV

Yeaaah I wasn't really going to say bye to Nya.
I should, but I was really staying for Vivi.

Once I was confident that the others were out of earshot, I carefully nudged Vivi with my foot.

"Great acting back there." I chuckled.

She waited a few moments before sighing, and unraveling herself. "I was that obvious huh?"

I sat down next to her. "No you did pretty well actually, I'm just a genius." I smirked.

Vivi laughed, but seemed to instantly regret it.
She quickly clutched her head, and held it there for a solid minute before releasing it again.

And then re-grabbing it

"Uh what was that?" I questioned, slightly concerned.

Still clutching her head she sighed, and turned to me, "See I wasn't completely lying. Morro did do something but I have no clue what. I get these weird sharp pains at random times and it's excruciating. Sure I can move now but I was only acting when all four of you guys came here, before all that was real."

Crap.

My eyes widened without my consent, as I took all that in.

She's hurt for real. 

And that bad

"Wait so he hurt you that bad?"

She sighed, and turned her gaze towards the ceiling where it lingered, "yeah I guess so. I'm used to frequent headaches but this is much worse."

I sighed as well and continued to look at her. "Well just so you know, I'm not doing this without you." I stand up, as she turns and faces me from below.

"Wha-"

"Finding Morro, taking Lloyd back?" I reminded her.

"Well yeah I got that but why? You need to go get him Kai! I don't even know if my powers will stay stable, or even work!"

"Look I started this with you and I'm ending it the same way okay!" I yelled, slightly surprised at my tone. I sound demanding.

With yet another sigh, Vivi stuck her hand out for me. I grabbed it and helped her up, letting her use my shoulder to stabilize herself.

"If you won't end it without me at least continue it without me. I know I can't help right now and I promise I'll come back as soon as I can. Please Kai just go for now" she pleaded.

Vivi...

She swiped her head in my direction so I could see her face.

Her eyes. They were... glossy.

Wait is she about to...

"Kai please I'll be fine okay? You know I'd give anything to be out there, this whole thing is basically my fault in the first place", she grimaced. "Don't let Lloyd suffer. You promised him remember?"

I snapped back into reality, right as Lloyds name was mentioned.

She's right. Poor green beans still possessed out there.

"Fine. I'll go." I agreed, and slowly let go of her arm untill she stood herself.

Vivi shot a thankful smile at me while I proceeded to walk out the door.

"Oh, and feel free to turn Nya into your personal slave, okay? You've got permission" I joked.

She let out a laugh, a small laugh, but it's all I can manage.

"Whatever red just go."

And I did.

But little did I know how much I'd regret it.

...Sooo yeah this was publised kinda late.

I've been super busy lately so I'm going to be on Hiatus, but not a normal one.

I'll still be active, but instead of writing i'll mostly be reading to get new ideas and for entertainment, but i'll still update occasionally just I wont be commited to a schedule y'know?
