This Is Goodbye
***Beckys POV***
Stacy stepped forward and darkly spoke, "We need to do something with you, 'Cassie Rose'."
"I vote we build a obsidian prison and surround it with lava!" Stampy suggested. I blinked, speaking up, "Or we could just leave Cassie here—"
Backing away from us, Cassie shook at the idea. Winslow hissed as Cassie declared, "No no no no no, I won't let you do that! I can't— no!" Cassie pointed to Jesse, yelling, "This is YOUR fault! You did this to me!" " you have done that yourself!" I quoted Obi-Wan Kenobi, pulling out my bow.
As my friend advanced towards the White Pumpkin, Cassie pulled out her diamond axe. I stepped towards the right, aiming my bow at the killer. My hands were trembling from the whole ordeal, but I was determined to stop her from hurting anyone else.
Breathe in.
Breathe out.
Release.
The arrow hit Cassie's left hand, knocking the axe out of her hands! Cassie yelled in pain; holding her hand close to herself, Cassie glared at me and screamed, "I'll fight all of you! Each and everyone of you! I'll—— AHHhh!"
Cassie fell down a trap, sand falling on top of her! Stampy ran over, ordering, "Another trap! Come on! We need to dig her out!" I pulled a wooden shovel out of my inventory, running over to the sand trap. With Stampy and Dan, I began digging as Stacy bitterly commented, "After everyone's she's hurt? She can dig herself out." Stacy turned away, crossing her arms over her chest.
Dan made a valid point when he said, "She did terrible things, but no one deserves this!" Jesse and Lizzie ran over to help us dig Cassie out. Stampy stopped digging, pointing out, "Wait, look!" I looked over to Stampy, noticing what he was staring at. My stomach dropped when Cassie's inventory floated up onto the pit trap....
Dang...
Cassie is gone....
"I can't believe it... she's gone." Stampy broke the silence. Ivor, Petra and Lukas walked over to the trap, Ivor observing, "What a way to go!" Petra nodded and added, staring at Cassie's inventory, "Yeah, I guess in all the chaos... she forgot where her traps were... WOW..."
"That's awful." Lukas agreed. Stampy sadly pointed out, "If only she just asked us for help... we could have avoided this whole thing." Lizzie and I nodded in agreement. I sighed, hugging myself, "I wish we could have helped her! Sure, she killed my brother, and I honestly hate her for that. But as Dan says, no one deserves to go it like that... not even Cassie..." Ari chirps we're filled with sadness.
Jesse and Lukas headed over to the nearest window; Jesse told us all, "Hey, it's morning!" The two returned to our group as Stampy turned to us, sadly noting, "I guess... I guess that's it then." "Yeah! We're free!" Stacy cheered.
Ivor declared, stepped forward, "And we're ALIVE! Let's not waste it standing around—- there could still be traps EVERYWHERE in here!" With that, everyone began heading for the front door.
I began to follow. But, I hesitated, glancing back at Cassie's grave. Walking back, I plant a pot in front of the pit, placing a blue orchid in the pot. "I..." I tried to begin, but sighed, "I'm sorry, Cassie... I'm sorry I couldn't protect your sister... she.... she was my best friend.... I wish I could have died in her place so at least you two could have reunited, if only for a short while... I... forgive you... for my brothers death... it's the honorable thing to do, after all, right? Forgive and forget? Turn the other cheek?" I shook my head, "Goodbye, Cassie Rose. I'm sorry I wasn't able to save you...."
I grabbed Cassie's diamond axe and ran back to our group. "Hey, Petra! Wait up!" I managed to react Petra, "I'm just curious, what have you guys done with the other people's inventories? If you want, I could help you find their owners friends and family."
"Well, Jesse and I are going to take the item back to Beacontown," Petra explained, "We'll put out a notice and try to contact anyone who might know who the victims were.... Becky... I'm sorry.... your brother—-"
"Is gone," I sighed, "I know..." Petra hesitated, but she asked, "What are ya doing to do?" I shrugged and put Cassie's axe away in my inventory. Pulling out AJs book, I stared down at it as I replied, "I.... dunno. I'll probably stick around my squad, keep an eye out for AJ if Cassie is lying.... sadly, in these worlds, you cannot bury your dead." We fell into silence.
Zombies were burning up, dying and leaving their rotten flesh (or whatever they held in hand). Ivor stretches and declared in a joyful manner, "Ahhh, I've never been so happy to smell rotting flesh!" Jesse covered his nose, commenting, "Yeah that it's—-yikes—— That is pretty rank."
Dan spoke as he, Stacy, Lizzie and Stampy walked over to us, "I feel bad thinking about the people who aren't here to smell it.... TorqueDawg, Sparklez, AJ... and Cassie, I guess." "Aw, that's a good point." Stampy nodded his head. Dan added, "Yeah, I don't mean to depress anyone. I just can't stop thinking about them..."
"I tried my hardest," Jesse honestly told Dan, "But there was nothing I could do." Stampy reassured Jesse, "Oh we all know that, Jesse. It's not your fault." Dan noted gratefully, "Lucky for us, that portal brought you here." "And lucky for us, we have a valuable member who isn't afraid to risk her life for others." Lizzie pointed at, socking my shoulder. I half smiled, "Yeah, I guess your right."
Ivor walked over to Jesse, deducing, "Speaking Of which... I have no idea how to begin finding our exit portal." Jesse walked and thought as Stampy recalled, "Well, Cassie said it was right under her nose, right?" "That's true, maybe it's nearby." Jesse pondered aloud.
I added as Ari sat on Stampys shoulder, "Or underground. That would explain what Cassie said about the portal being 'right under her nose'."
We walked off the Mansions porch. Jesse pointed to a skull shaped gateway, declaring, "Hey! Whaddya know, there it is!" "A fabulous coincidence!" Ivor happily exclaimed.
I walked over to my group; Stacy realized, "So, I guess this is goodbye, huh?" Both parties turned to face each other. Lukas rubbed the back of his head, commenting, "Yeah... just let us know if you ever accidentally find yourselves in OUR world, ha!"
"That's really nice of you," Dan waved his hand, pointing out, "But I don't think we can really portal-hop without a portal KEY." Stampy seemed nervous about Dans comment, pushing his mouth with his hand.
Jesse crossed his arms over his chest, revealing, "Oh well, I think Stampys got you covered there." The four of us jumped in surprise. Dan turned his body to stare at Stampy, accusing, "YOU stole the portal key from me?!"
Stampy pulled out our green enchanted flint and steel, saying as he walked over to Dan, "It was just meant to be a prank, a harmless prank, and I am so sorry, so very very sorry!" Dan crossed his arms over his chest, upset. "Yeah, come on," Stacy tried calming Dan down, "It's Stampy. You know he would never actually try to hurt anyone!" I nodded "Stacy's right!"
Jesse quickly came up with an idea, "Hey, it's cool, guys. You can share it! Make, like, your own Order Of The Stone!" Dan smiled a bit, "Yeah, alright, I guess I could live with that." I sighed in relief, Stampy declaring, "Yes, that's a wonderful idea!"
A weird silence fell over the nine of us. Stacy began backing away, telling Jesses team, "Well, I'm not great at goodbyes, so I'm actually just going to start walking home. Thanks for everything!" Stacy turned around, waving as she walked away.
"Yeah me too." Lizzie nodded, "Bye guys!" Lizzie smiled and walked after Stacy. Dan turned to stare at Jesses group, "Yeah, me too. Travel safe you guys!" Dan waved and walked away. I waved to the Order Of The Stone, backing up, "I bid you fair well! Stay safe and thanks! I owe you guys one!" I saluted the group before I about faced and marched away.
"BYEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!" Stampy ran after our group, hands in the air like he just don't care. I laughed when Stampy ran past me; I called out to him, chasing after him, "Hey! Wait for me!"
