AFTER THEY MADE UP, Isaac tried to make even more extra time so that he could spend atleast an hour with her. But that proved to be harder than expected when Dumbledore gave him special lessons for another thing. Duelling.
Since the Headmaster couldn't really bring any of the Order in, Isaac's teacher had to be Professor Flitwick for now. But the boy had no problem with it, he did like Professor Flitwick a lot.
But aside from that, Isaac was really really glad that he and Hermione were on speaking terms again. Even though it was kind of awkward since he did confess to her. But regardless, Isaac still enjoyed his time with her.
There was one thing however that he couldn't quite get his mind out of. Hermione. Although he said he didn't need an answer anytime soon and it had only been a week since he had confessed. But goodness gracious this girl was going to be the death of him.
Isaac would catch her staring at him, and when he turned to look at her she would look away with a blush on her face. There were also times where he would find her staring at his lips longingly, making him confused.
Tomorrow would be Slughorn's Christmas Party and Isaac was somewhat curious as to how it would go. He had his suit ready but he didn't really have a date to bring. Isaac didn't think he needed one to be honest, the person he wanted to go with the most was invited anyways so it was alright.
Currently Isaac was in the library with Hermione. Lately, Isaac has felt Harry's suspicous gaze on him and he did know why. Isaac told Professor Dumbledore about this and all the Headmaster told him was not to worry about it and go on with his lessons.
Hermione noticed the blank look on his face, blushing a bit at how handsome he looked. She shook her head furiously and patted him on the shoulder. "Are you alright Isaac?"
He smiled at her and ruffled her head, effectively messing her already bushy hair. "I'm fine Mione. Do you have a date to Slughorn's Party?"
Hermione blushed at him and patted her hair down, trying to fix it a bit. "I do actually. But I'm slightly regretting it."
Isaac chuckled at her, grabbing a book from the Herbology section. "I'm sure it's not that bad Mione. Who are you going with?"
Hermione looked down towards the book she had in her arms, mumbling under her breath. Isaac looked at her with furrowed eyebrows, moving closer to her a bit. "Sorry what'd you say?"
She blushed a bit when she glanced up at him, flustered at how close he was to her. Her eyes flickered down to his lips for a second before looking back down to her book. "Cormac Mclaggen."
Isaac looked at her with confusion in his stormy grey eyes. He chuckled softly, not believing what she just said. "Sorry I think I heard wrong. Your taking Cormac Mclaggen to Slughorn's party?!"
Hermione blushed in embarrassment and a bit of guilt looming in her. She did invite Cormac Mclaggen, days before she knew about her true feelings for Isaac. She smiled sheepishly at him and held his arm. "Please tell me your not that upset? I wasn't thinking then! I asked him way before I knew I-"
Hermione slapped a hand to her mouth, cursing herself for almost revealing her feelings for him. Isaac looked at her with a frown, putting a hand on her shoulder for her to look at him. "Way before you what?"
Hermione slowly removed her hand from her mouth. She contemplated on how she wanted this to go. If she wanted to tell him her love for him or to wait for the better moment...
"I never expected you to actually accept Mclaggen. Much less be his date." Hermione frowned towards Isaac and hit his arm with her book, gaining a pout from the Hufflepuff.
"Well, I didn't have much of a choice! Stupid Ronald was going on and on with Lavender and their stupid snogging sessions, I just really wanted to-"
"Make him jealous?" Hermione shut her mouth once she learned that she basically still told him that she liked Ron at the time. She sighed before grabbing his hand in hers, trying to somewhat make him forget about it.
"Well... at the time yes." Isaac looked at her, bewildered at what she was implying. He opened his mouth to question her but was interrupted when the bell rang for their next class.
Isaac sighed and gave Hermione a brief smile, patting her head like always. "I'll see you at the party Mione!"
Hermione sighed in dissapointment. She was just about to confess to him, but classes just had to happen now. She quickly compossed herself and started walking towards her own class, thinking of when she should tell him.
As Isaac was walking through the corridor, a million thoughts had ran through his head.
Hermione had just admitted to wanting to make Ron jealous before, and as he stood there watching her blush up at him, the only emotion he could read from her was... adoration and love.
Goodness what was happening with him.
TIMESKIP
Isaac was walking through a hallway, heading towards the location of Slughorn's Party. He was quite nervous to be honest, Isaac didn't really know what to do in the party. He wasn't even always in his dinner partys, only going once in a while as he had Quidditch practices sometimes.
When he was close to the door, Isaac could hear some music leaking through the walls. He chuckled lowly before breathing in and going inside. He was immediately met with a very ecstatic Professor Slughorn.
"Ah, Diggory! Lovely to see you here my boy!" Isaac smiled politely at his Professor and shook his hand.
"Thank you for inviting me Professor." The Potions Master waved his hand dismissively, mumbling to the boy that he was very happy he even came.
"How's Quidditch, Mr. Diggory?" Isaac smiled as he conversed with Professor Slughorn, occasionally stopping for a while when someone passed by as the Professor greeted the passerby.
After a few minutes, Professor Slughorn left to talk to his other guests. Leaving Isaac to stand alone in the middle of the room. He sighed and looked around, hoping to see someone he knew.
Not being able to find anyone, Isaac aimlessly walked around. Not fully looking at where he was walking as he daydreamed. And because of this, he accidentally bumped into someone.
He quickly wrapped an arm around the person's waist, stabilizing himself so that they both don't fall down. He sighed in relief when he was able to secure a better position, not yet recognizing the bushy haired bookworm in his arms.
"Isaac?"
Not until she said his name did he really look at her. Isaac looked at the girl in his arms, dressed in a sleeveless pink dress that fit her to perfection. Isaac was baffled at the sight, loving every second of it.
Hermione on the other hand was blushing at his intense stare, as well as their current position. She tried to tone her blush down, patting Isaac's arm lightly. He blinked once before blushing himself, also realizing then position they were in.
He cleared his throat awkwardly, gently removing her from his grip. Hermione smiled sheepishly at him, pushing a loose strand of her hair behind her ear. "Hey..."
Isaac's blush deepened as he looked away, trying to cover it with his hand. "Hey... y-you look beautiful..."
Isaac avoided looking in her eyes, trying not to get even more flustered. Hermione was smiling happily at him, giddy at the comment he gave her. "Thanks... you clean up nice too."
Isaac looked down at his outfit. His all white suit did suit him well, a bit tight on his torso but Hermione wasn't complaining. He then looked at her, a small smile on his face. "Thanks. Where were you going though, the only way behind me is the exit?"
Hermione bit her lip, glancing behind her. Isaac followed her eyes, landing on a formally dressed Cormac Mclaggen was standing beside Harry. As if looking for someone as his head turned from side to side, eyes narrowed.
Isaac chuckled softly, giving her a questioning smirk as if he already knew what she was going to say. Hermione rolled her eyes, smacking him on the arm playfully.
"Well if you really must know, I'm trying not to kiss Cormac under the mistletoe." Isaac chuckled at her and patted her shoulder approvingly.
"Good job!" Hermione blushed but compossed herself and sent him a smile. She then looked around, making sure Cormac wasn't anywhere near before tiptoeing and whispering in his ear.
"Can you help me avoid him please?" Isaac looked at her with a wide smile, nodding his head enthusiastically. Hermione giggled at him before dragging him off to the dance floor.
Isaac and Hermione danced the night away. Enjoying being in each others arms, simply thinking it was just the two of them.
Although they weren't dating yet, Hermione already felt as if she could stay here in his arms for the rest of eternity. She giggled and twirled some more before an interruption happened.
The music stopped, much to her displeasure. Hermione frowned to herself and looked around, trying to find the cause of it. Her eyes landed on a well-suited Draco Malfoy being dragged in by Filch. She glanced at Isaac, seeing his blank look made her question what his thoughts were but she shook it off as the music once again came back on.
She shook Isaac's arm a bit, trying to get his attention. He looked at her, his stormy grey eyes glazed as if he wasn't all there. "Isaac, what do you think happened?"
He shrugged softly, not fully listening to her words. Hermione's frown deepened. She cupped his cheek with her hand, rubbing it a bit to give him a taste of reality.
"Isaac? You there?" Isaac blinked twice, his eyes slowly turning back to his usual stormy grey. He looked at her, trying to process what was going on before nuzzling into her hand.
"Yeah... I'm fine. Is the party over?" Hermione shook her head no, slowly removing her hand from his cheek and placing it on his arm. Isaac sighed and looked for Professor Slughorn, hoping to see if the party was over.
When his eyes landed on the Potions Master, he grabbed Hermione's hand and dragged her towards the Professor. "Professor Slughorn, sir, is it alright if we leave early?"
Professor Slughorn smiled widely at the pair and happily told them they could, immediately going back to his conversation.
Isaac sighed in relief, already walking towards the exit. Before he could open the door, Hermione tugged on his hand, hoping he would stop for a moment. "Isaac?"
Isaac stopped walking abruptly, halting when he heard the hint of hesitation in Hermione's voice. He turned towards her slowly. "I am so sorry, if you want to stay its fine..."
Hermione thought about this, if she went back to the party all she would be doing would be running away from the advanced of Cormac. But if she went with him, she'll be able to have some alone time with him.
She smiled at the boy, already knowing which of the two she'd rather pick. She giggled at his reaction when she tugged his hand forward, already walking outside in the soothing winter breeze. "Come on, I'd rather stay with you rather than run around trying to avoid being kissed by someone different than the one I love."
Isaac looked at her, eyes wide and mouth agape. He didn't really understand if she knew what she was implying, he was surprised she even phrased it like that.
"-kissed by someone different than the one I love."
Once they were on the bridge of Hogwarts, Isaac stopped walking leaving Hermione to stop abruptly too. She looked at him, still holding his hand in hers. Isaac looked at her, panting a bit at how long they actually were running.
Hermione noticed that he looked confused and a bit shocked. She looked at him with a frown and moved a step closer. "What's wrong Isaac?"
Isaac looked into her eyes, her alluring brown eyes met his clouded grey. He pursed his lips, not entirely sure how this was going to go. But he breathed in deeply, growing a bit more determined.
"Hermione... I know I said I didn't need an answer. But, your just giving me these signs and I'm so confused." Hermione's breath hitched at his remark. Her eyes slowly looking away from his, suddenly feeling interested in her shoes.
Isaac didn't want that, he wanted to know what she felt. He lifted her chin up with his free hand, their eyes locked again in a heated gaze. Hermione bit her lip, trying her best not to just confess her love for the Hufflepuff boy infront of her. No, she wanted to tell him just how much she did love him. But she wanted to make him wait just a bit more, maybe for a few more minutes.
Hermione smiled cheekily at him, holding the hand he had on her chin and bringing it down to her side. "Well... what do you want to know?"
Isaac looked at her, a bit amused at what she was doing. He chuckled a bit, squeezing her hand gently. "Tell me about the guy you love."
Hermione blushed, she completely forgot that she uttered those words just a moment ago. She cleared her throat nervously, hoping he was going to get the clue.
"Well, this guy I love. He's a bit of a git, avoiding me for more than a week! Took me a while to make up with him." Isaac laughed at that, somewhat getting a gist of what was happening. Hermione smiled despite the bundle of nerves she had.
"He's... well perfect to me. He's very kind, always knows what to say and do to make me smile again. Always there for me when I need it the most. He's also very brave and chivalrous for a Hufflepuff."
Isaac smirked at her, already recognizing who she was talking about. Getting a bit bolder, he let go of her hands. Hermione first frowned at this but when he wrapped an arm around her waist, she knew she was a goner.
Isaac used his free hand to brush a strand of hair away from her face, pushing it behind her ear and resting his hand on her cheek. He smiled charmingly at her and inched a bit closer. "And would you say the guy you love is here, standing infront of you?"
Hermione gave him a heart-warming smile, both of their hearts beating strongly in their chest. Isaac stared into her brown eyes, now filled with admiration and love.
Her eyes flickered down to his lips for a second, not going unnoticed by the Hufflepuff Prince infront of her. He looked into her eyes, patiently waiting for her answer. His thumb caressing her soft cheek.
Hermione leaned into his touch, still holding his intense gaze. His grey eyes clouded with love and passion, Hermione couldn't help but lean closer to him. And with one whisper, they both leaned in.
"Yes..."
And with that, Isaac's lips met with hers in a gentle and innocent kiss. Their lips moved in sync, almost as if they've done this a hundred times before.
And as they stood there under the night sky, pure white snow fell for the first time that year. As if Merlin felt the pure innocence in their moment of passion and blessed them with the most beautiful night they could ask for.
