THE DAY I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR
Jerome's POV
It's finally here! The day I've been dreaming of since forever, finally came. I was in my suite as I couldn't see my bride before the wedding. Blake, my best man was helping me get dressed. "Are you okay man?" I asked him. "Yes for the millionth time. I knew you too still had a thing for each other am just sorry I got in the way. We're still brothers." He reassured me. "As long as am your CFO, we aint got no problem" He teased and we laughed. "You look good man! She's gonna be stumped!" He complimented me and I thanked him. I was nervous as hell. No one could calm me down except her. 'Am nervous. Wish u were here' I replied to her text asking me how I was. 'I am there just not with u for now' She replied. If I knew which room she was in, I would've sneaked in just to see her. Someone tapped the door and I yelled "Come." The man came in and I was shocked to see him. "Couldn't stay away huh?" He joked but I thought he was serious. I wanted to beat him to a pulp for taking my love away from me but I knew I couldn't. "Why are you here?" I asked coldly. "Just wanted to give you my blessing. I knew there was something about you. I knew you were the one for her. You changed her in so many ways you wouldn't understand." He said seriously. "I know it was my fault that caused the tribulation that you both went through to find true love gain. But you did. On your own and that says a lot about you. Am sorry." He apologized and I was touched by his speech. "Forgiven" I stated sharply. "I would be more than happy and at ease to know that she will be with you. Welcome to the family, Son" He held out his hand for me to shake but I didn't know how to respond. I hugged him. "Thank you, dad" I cried realizing that my actual father didn't live to see this day but Becca's did and I was proud of that. He let go and my betraying nerves were soothed just by his speech and embrace. I was ready for this!
I stood immobile. Awaiting to see my bride enter the room and march up the aisle to me. The Bridesmaids and Roxan made her way up and she winked at me. My best men made their way along the aisle but I was constantly glancing over them to see her. My bride, Rebecca. The flower girl, Sabrina skipped along the aisle as she threw her rose petals left and right. Suddenly the golden trumpets were bellowed. The gentleman began to utter the musical tune 'Seems like forever, I thought I'd find you.' It was my favorite song. It was time. The curtain fell then was raised in a few short seconds. Everyone glanced around to see her. I stood motionless as she was revealed. The angel was clothed in a white strap-less mermaid length gown with diamond studs all over her curves and edges. The veil was of sparkling diamond that hid her gorgeous face. She held up her head and her eyes met mine and I was flushed with redness. She's mine! All mine! She was escorted by her father along the aisle to me. She pecked both his teary cheeks before he let her go. I held unto her hand as I brought her to stand in front of me upon the altar. After the tedious stalling of our vows, it was asked of us to publicly announce our oaths. "Rome, my knight in shining armor, my hero, my love. You are the answer to a prayer I never knew I made. I can't imagine a life without you. You are what makes me whole, Jerome Alex Clarke" She sobbed as she closed. She was welled up in tears. I wiped away another tear that hit her cheek. "Becca..." I started.
