Rebecca's POV

Blake drove me to the airport although he wasn't coming. "You can't send me half way around the world alone?" I cursed. "You won't be. Cindy and Jerome will be there with you" He reassured me. "Trust me babe, you need this trip more than I do. I have to stay back to take charge of Jerome's company." He shrieked. He was excited about his new job. Jerome promoted him to CFO last night at the party and he couldn't let an opportunity like that go. I was happy for him but why now? It seems suspicious and I knew Jerome all too well. We pulled up at the airport and Blake kissed me goodbye. "I'll miss you. Go and clear your head. We have a wedding in a week" He beamed. I stood stationery watching him as he sped off. "Rebecca! Where's Blake?" Cindy broke away my reverie. "He had to go back and take charge of the company" I sighed. "So do I. I just learnt that I have a runway in an hour! Some VIP are coming in and I have to make a good impression." She beamed. What was going on? First Blake, now her. So that means it will only be me and... Jerome did this! "Well am off. Jerome is waiting for you by the snack bar. Have fun" She kissed me on my cheek then left. French. I cursed as I wiped off her irritating lip gloss off my cheek. I made my way to the snack bar where I saw him. "Is our flight ready?" I asked with my voice trembling. I was nervous. I knew something was bound to happen with just me and him all alone in California. He turned around and smirked "Actually, I just cancelled our flight. We are driving" "What? It will take couple days to reach to California" I told him "Exactly" He smirked. "You planned this, didn't you?" I finally asked. "I have no idea what you are talking about" He said innocently. "First Blake got a promotion and now Cindy might get one if she stays" I put the pieces altogether. "Coincidence" He said confidently. "I know when you're lying Jerome" I chuckled. I know I should feel deceived but I was glad it was only both of us driving days and nights together. "Fine! But they both desired it. They have potential unlike us" He joked. We both managed to laugh then he led me to his black Bentley. "Wow!" I exclaimed. It was glamorous. I couldn't afford that vehicle but of course he could, without even grimacing. He held my door and I seated myself then he made his way to his. "You're driving?" I asked seriously "Duh!" He exclaimed matter of factly. "When last have you driven?" I asked feeling scared of his response. "Five years ago" He smirked and we laughed then he took off. "Rooooad trip" I screamed. I loved road trips and I knew he did too. The wind blew heavily through the window as he sped down the narrow freeway. I stole a glance at him and he returned a smile. I couldn't help the redness that crawled unto my cheeks. "Jerome" I squealed. "Yes" He answered not taking his eyes off the dark road. "I have to go" I finally told him. I have been holding it from we left the airport and it's been 8 hours. I slept and woke up but he was still busy driving. "We'll check into this hotel for the night." He assured me. We reached the Beach Palms Hotel and we went to check in. We got a two-bedroom suite with a Jacuzzi, kitchen, bathroom, everything! It was way too much for just one night. I showered and found him outside on the balcony taking in the view. "Isn't it beautiful?" I awed as I reached his side. "Yes she is" He said looking at me seriously. "I meant the view" I assured him. "Oh, Yea. That too" He chuckled nervously and I blushed.
