Chapter 1- James' hope
TJ wished they knew where Jordan was. Oliver vanished once the mission he gave Teo was complete. Everyone was currently on their toes this wasn't a part of the prophecy. He was supposed to be here, he was supposed to be apart of this.
As they got down to the kitchen their only thought was what if he was dead? What if Oliver killed his son? Would that be too much of a stretch of behavior? He has done worse things, he tried killing his own wife and hid it. How much worse would killing his son be? TJ really hoped they were wrong, because a world without Jordan sounded like a world without the sun.
They sat down at the table when James gave them a plate filled with eggs and bacon. "Hey, we'll find him." He smiled, but the sadness in his eyes told a story of heartbreak that TJ couldn't ignore.
"How are you sure? Because he left you a necklace?" TJ knew they went too far but their world was too dim to care.
"TJ, I know because even when he was losing himself. When you were missing because you were kidnaped and he was feeling every little bit of pain you felt and losing his fucking humanity. He still came to me, he came back to me." James cried. TJ knew Jordan had gotten close to being gone forever, but they had no clue how far gone he was before he went missing. "Now we don't know where he is, and, and" James took a breath, as more tears streamed down his face. " and we have to hope he isn't gone forever."
James got up and stormed away from the table, his chair falling onto the floor. TJ felt horrible. When James left the room and the only sound you hear was his chair and silent cries. It made TJ want to crawl into hole. They felt like they just kicked a puppy and in sense they guessed they did.
"TJ you need to watch your words around him right now." Luna said leaning against the doorway. TJ had no clue when she got there.
"I know." They looked down into their bowl of cereal, as they stirred their cereal around.
Luna pushed herself off the wall and walked towards TJ, a soft smile of her lips. "Try and think of how he feels right now. Jordan is the only one he has ever emotionally bonded with. He may have me, but I saved him from hunters. Jordan saved him from himself. And now he tried saving Jordan from himself and instead him and his father went missing."
TJ looked down, they knew Jordan and James were close, but they didn't how close. They really need to apologize to James.
"Is he doing okay? How a bad-" TJ cut themselves off and looked down.
"How bad did you hurt him?" Luna asked, receiving a nod from TJ. "Pretty bad TJ. James never cries and you made him cry. He is missing the person who gave hima reason to live, and you told him he may never come back." TJ looked down tears starting to form in their eyes. "You took away the only hope he had."
TJ bursts into tears, "I know okay, I screwed up you didn't have to tell me like that."
James walked back into the kitchen, "Luna it's okay. I do cry and I still have hope. Jordan just gave me a reason not to cry. And as long as I have that necklace I will always have hope."
TJ looked down, their tears slowing and drying on their face. They didn't understand how James could be so romantic even when his boyfriend is missing. How does one do that? How can he have the hope and energy to continue going when TJ was losing theirs. They knew he was alive they could feel it. But he couldn't be happy or alive where he was right now.
"No he can't be happy, he's stuck with our father." Olivia said softly as she walked into the kitchen and filled a cup of water. "Our father will do anything to succeed in what he thinks he has to. Last time Jordan got in his way...." Olivia dropped her cup, it shattering in the sink.
Luna jumped up from her chair, rushing to Olivia. "Hey breath he's going to be fi- okay." TJ knew Luna didn't want anyone catching how they skipped over the word 'fine', but they couldn't help but notice it.
James got out of his chair and slipped out of the room. TJ didn't know half of what they learned today. They knew that Oliver wasn't the greatest father but they didn't know it went that far. It explains why Jordan was so closed off when talking about his father. And now he was stuck with him where no one knows where they are. And no one can save him this time. He has no escape.
TJ was starting to doubt if he would make it out of this as himself.
