Jordan- human

Jordan ran as fast as he could, before his wolf howled. He knew he hurt him, he knew he hurt James, but Jordan needed to keep them all safe. Only so much can be done before you push someone away fully, and James, he knows will never let him back in. Once he looked back, he couldn't stop himself from following the car. He needed to make sure they all got back safely. Jordan jumped from building to building, running between alleys. No matter how closer he got to the car, he realized he could never go home.  As he stopped in an alleyway he listened for Luna's or James' voice.

"Are we calling the hunters?"

He froze, were they really going to call the hunters on him? Did they think he was that far gone? Good, that means if Luca kills him then they won't miss him.

As he walked around the streets he didn't know what to do, he knew he had to scare them off to keep them safe, but it hurt so bad to see them gone. As it was a mid-autumn day in New York he was starting to shiver. His wolf was silent, his instincts were silent, his mind was loud. So, so loud he couldn't begin to understand any noises outside.

He went to walk across the road a car ran a red light. And in slow motion he saw it all. The car got closer, and he wanted to be gone. As he could feel the anxiety and fear of everyone around, he could also feel the air and friction from the car as it got closer. Just seconds before it hit him, an arm reached out and grabbed him. His breathing quickened and his eyes began to blur out. Did he almost just die? What would his father think? How could he of let that car hit him and leave Olivia behind? James? Luna? Or leave TJ in that hell hole?

"Hey, breath." A husky voice said, as more pressure is put on his shoulder.

Jordan looked up at the man who pulled him out of the street.   The man had dark chestnut skin, and warm inviting blue eyes. His hair looked to be freshly dyed grey. His face was slim and his cheekbones were sharp, he reminded Jordan of both James and Luna.

"Are you okay?" The man looked concerned.

The way he reminded Jordan of James in this moment made his heart hurt. He wanted to get away, to run, to scream, cry. But he also felt he didn't have the right to feel hurt. He pushed them away, he gave himself this pain.

"I'm Mateo Reyes. What about you?" The man removed his hand from his shoulder, and put his hand out to shake.

"I'm Jordan." He shakily reached up and grabbed the man's hand.  .

"Hey Jordan, would you want to get a cup of coffee with me?"

Jordan knew he shouldn't trust this man he just met, but he also knew he couldn't go home. The longer he looked into Mateo's eyes, the more he felt he could trust him. And with his instincts and wolf seemingly gone, he went with him to the nearest café. The table they sat at had a view of the street and the door. The café itself was warm and cozy, it had stained wood walls and small potted plants decorating the tables. With every breath he took coffee and flowers surrounded him.

"Okay, Jordan. Hard question." Mateo asked as he sat down his latte.

"Shoot."

"Why didn't you move? You had the time to."

Jordan sat down his Capuchino and took a deep breath in, "I don't know."

Jordan wished he knew, he was aware of why he wanted to move: he couldn't leave his family. But why did he stay in front of that car even though he had the ability to move? He saw it coming, and was quick enough to get out of the way, but why didn't he?

"Would you be okay with me calling someone?" Mateo seemed truthfully concerned about him, that fact made Jordan's heart swell up, not knowing what he could have done to deserve this.

"Yeah go ahead, I'll be here waiting."

As Mateo got up and headed outside, Jordan looked around the café while drinking his coffee. On the wall across from where Mateo had sat them down in front of window, was a wall of fairy lights and paintings. One was of forest, each stroke seemed to add more color to the scene. Next to the wall was a counter, this was made of stone and appeared to be glazed. On top of this counter was a tray of cakes and pastries.  Jordan loved how peaceful the café was but he also knew it wouldn't last.

He didn't mean to eavesdrop on Mateo's phone call, he really didn't, but he was drawn in once he heard his name.

"Jordan White, I found him sir."

His heart broke once he heard Mateo say this. Why was the one man who reminded him of his pack someone who he couldn't trust?  Before he got the answer to his question he got up, left money for his drink and left. He was sure to walk in the opposite direction Mateo was facing and headed back to what he supposed to be doing.

Each step farther into the city, the more his heart broke. He couldn't trust anyone, he had to make sure he was alone in this. No matter how much Jordan tried to be human, to show himself he wasn't a monster, the more he failed.  As he got into a taxi that could take him to the edge of town, he was already dead set on what he should do.

  Dear everyone,

I am sorry for leaving as suddenly as I am, but there is a reason for this departure. Please call off the hunters, and don't try tracking me down I need to do this alone. James I know you can't forgive me but at least don't blame yourself. Luna I am sorry for being the alpha you chose to protect. Olivia, Teo, Jeremiah, please make sure dad doesn't do anything stupid. I can't be around you guys til I end this with Luca. Don't follow, I need to do this ALONE.

Goodbye everyone. I hope you understand.

With great sorrow,

- Jordan White
