As the swarm of Deadpools rushed at them, Cecily felt a surge of exhilaration. She fought them off with surprising grace, relishing every moment. This was what she had dreamed of ever since she had met Wade. After dispatching the last of her attackers, she turned to see Logan and Wade battling the ones inside the bus before leaping out the back window.

She burst into laughter as Wade landed face-first on the pavement. "Come on! Oh, I blew it! After all that, the only thing they're gonna remember is that god-awful dismount!" Wade groaned, brushing himself off. "And I'm pretty sure you hit me in the face on accident," he added, pointing at Cecily.

"It wasn't an accident," she replied with a small smile, her eyes sparkling with amusement.

Their banter was interrupted by the sight of a baby Deadpool laughing at them. "What are you laughing at, you little fucker?" Wade shouted. Suddenly, the Deadpools they had just taken down began to rise again.

"Uh-oh," Wade said, backing up. "I guess these ones regenerate."

"Come on. We don't have time for this!" Wade urged, but before they could react, a voice called out from the distance.

"Deadpools! Stand down!" a man shouted as he rode in on a bike.

"This Deadpool's with me," he declared, causing Wade to groan, "Oh no."

"Holy shit," Ladypool exclaimed. "That's fuckin' Peter!"

"Peter!" Kidpool shouted, pointing at the newcomer. The Deadpools erupted in cheers as Peter removed his Deadpool mask.

"Wait, you... you guys know Peter?" Wade asked, incredulous.

"You kidding me? Every Deadpool has a Peter," Ladypool replied with a grin.

"Shit. Peter's a goddamn legend in every Deadpool's world," Cowboypool chimed in.

As the Deadpools swarmed around Peter, Cecily, Logan, and Wade seized the opportunity to slip past them, heading toward the subway station.

"Enjoy my Peter!" Wade called back, sprinting ahead of the horde of Deadpools.

They dashed into the subway station, the atmosphere tense. "Oh no, you're here. Well, you're too late. It's all over," Paradox sneered.

"Not yet it's not," Logan retorted, his tone unwavering.

"Whoa. No, no, no. We're very close," Wade said, glancing around frantically. "Quick, let's up the stakes."

"If she steals the time ripper's energy, she has the power to shred the fabric of all realities until there's nothing left but the void."

"How do we shut it down?" Logan demanded, eyes narrowed.

"I don't know," Paradox admitted, his frustration mounting.

In an instant, Logan grabbed Paradox, shoving him against the console, his claws glinting dangerously close to his face. "How about now?" Logan growled.

Cecily watched intently, but Wade quickly covered her eyes. "The mask is really intimidating, huh?" he quipped.

"Wade, get your hand off my face," Cecily said, shoving him away. "It's like Batman, except he can move his neck." Wade continued

"Okay, look, look, look," Paradox stammered, pressing a button. "The ripper is fed from a secure chamber below ground. It's powered by twin matter and antimatter feeds converging inside the device. Now, Cassandra Nova is redirecting the ripper's power to eliminate all timelines, starting with this one. Theoretically, you could stop her by short-circuiting the feeds in the chamber below. One of you would need to create a circuit between the two feeds, and then the released power would destroy the machine. But—"

"Come on! If you're not gonna swallow, spit it out!" Wade interrupted impatiently.

"Whoever forms the bridge would be annihilated," Paradox explained.

"I could live with that," Logan said, a grim acceptance in his tone.

"Yeah, I could live with that too, actually. You know we survive anything. We're like cockroaches," Wade chuckled darkly.

"Not this time. This is matter and antimatter. They do not play nicely together. When they mix in your body, you'll be atomized. Trust the laws of physics if you don't trust me. Even if you live long enough to make the circuit, you will die down there," Paradox warned.

Wade and Logan began to make their way down, but Cecily didn't follow. Wade paused, looking back at her. "Peanut?" he asked, concern creeping into his voice.

She met his gaze with a serene smile. "You've seen something, haven't you?" he pressed, his tone suddenly serious.

"I've seen almost everything. Now go," she urged, her expression unreadable.

Cecily watched the screen intently as the timeline integrity plummeted, her heart racing with worry. Visions weren't always set in stone, and uncertainty gnawed at her. "He's not gonna make it," Paradox murmured, his eyes glued to the data.

As the timeline integrity dipped further, his voice dropped to a whisper, "It's over." But in a sudden flash, the integrity began to rise. An explosion echoed through the station, and Cecily sprinted toward the source, only to find the area utterly devastated.

"Paradox," a woman called out as she descended the subway stairs, her tone laced with urgency. "You've been busy."

"Well, somebody had to be," Paradox replied, striding over to her.

"We had some strange readings from this location. You wouldn't know anything about an unsanctioned time ripper, would you?" she asked, skepticism evident in her voice.

"Uh, no. No, I wouldn't know anything about an unsanctioned time ripper. Maybe you should ask Cassandra Nova. I was assured she was safely held in the void. But no, she was here, and she fondled my brain. How did you let this happen?" Paradox retorted, frustration spilling over.

"You weren't involved at all?" the woman pressed.

"In stopping her, yes! Yes, I was. But not nearly enough. Not as much as the men who went down there after her. My men. My friends." Paradox's voice was thick with regret.

Cecily scoffed at that. "I warned them. That they would be completely obliterated if they went. But they went anyway. Like heroes. Because that's who they were. They just did what they had to do, with no concern for their own safety. The fact that we're all still standing here is a testament to their heroism. Anyway, there's nothing you or I can do to bring them back now."

Suddenly, Wade's voice rang out from a distance, "He has risen, babygirl!"

"Fuck!" Paradox shouted, and everyone turned to see both Wade and Logan striding out of the rubble. Cecily gasped, placing her hand over her mouth as her eyes locked onto Logan.

"Found your new anchor being!" Wade exclaimed, grinning.

"And we're doing just fine, you piece of shit," Logan added, glaring at Paradox.

"Fine indeed," one of the women chimed in, crossing her arms.

"All right. Put your greasy tits away, you preening slut," Wade said, tossing Logan a shirt.

Paradox stared at them in disbelief. "I don't understand. How are you two still alive?"

"You were right. One of us would have been killed. But you put a Deadpool and Wolverine together and made them hold hands while listening to Madonna—indestructible, motherfucker!" Wade exclaimed, a grin plastered across his face.

"Let's get this Deadpool variant back to the void," the woman said firmly.

"Wait, hold on. What?" Wade blurted out, confusion etched on his features.

"Nope. Actually, this one's homegrown, just like me," Peter announced as he bounded down the stairs.

"He belongs here," Peter declared, his eyes narrowing at the woman.

"And you are?" she inquired, arching an eyebrow.

"Peterpool. But you can call me Peter. And I hope you do," he replied, locking eyes with her.

"What the fuck is happening here?" Paradox interrupted, clearly bewildered.

"You are under judgment for operating an unsanctioned time ripper. Take him!" the woman commanded, gesturing for the guards.

"I was just doing what you don't have the guts to do," Paradox retorted as he was led away.

"I'm grateful, gentlemen," the woman said, shifting her focus back to Wade and Logan.

Wade dramatically bowed. "Let's hold the bows. You led an omega-level mutant to this timeline," she stated, her tone accusatory.

"You're welcome," Wade replied.

"And you shouldn't even be near this timeline," she added, eyeing Logan.

"He's welcome," Wade shot back, a hint of defiance in his voice.

"And you look damn good in that suit," she said, glancing at Peter.

"I'm so sorry," Peter said, his face flushing slightly.

She looked down at the device in her hand as it began beeping. "I want to show you something. Something huge," she said, excitement creeping into her voice.

"That's what Scoutmaster Kevin used to say," Wade quipped, unable to resist.

"Do you see that?" she said, showing them the device. "Your universe is regenerating. Whatever you did here, you not only saved your world; you spared your timeline from extinction. I'd rest up. I have a feeling your world is only just getting started," she told them.

"Till you're 90," Wade whispered to Logan, a cheeky grin spreading across his face.

"Wait! Um... we couldn't have made it out of the void without some help from some people the world kind of... forgot. Is there any way you could find a way to bring them home?" Wade asked, his tone earnest.

"I'll see what I can do," the woman replied.

"And, um, I promised my friend here that the TVA could undo some pretty awful stuff in his timeline. What would you say to that?" Wade pressed.

"Change the past?" she questioned, her brow furrowing.

"Well, he did help me save the world," Wade shot back, a hint of defiance in his voice.

"And his past made him the man who did it. There's nothing to fix, Mr. Wilson, Logan, Cecily," she said as she turned to walk away.

"Shawarma?" Wade called after her, trying to lighten the mood.

"I could eat," Logan replied, cracking a small smile.

Cecily sat down to eat for a moment before standing up. "Well, as fun as this was—y'know, almost dying and reliving past trauma—I think I'm gonna go now," she said, her sarcasm evident.

"Aww, where you going, Peanut?" Wade asked, feigning disappointment.

"Home. But yeah, this was great! We should definitely do it again sometime... or whatever," Cecily replied, rolling her eyes playfully.

"Are we gonna see you again?" Wade asked, a hint of hope in his voice.

"Yeah, your next birthday! Can't wait," she said, pointing at him with a smirk. She shot Logan a knowing look before walking away, leaving Wade and Logan behind.

Cecily walked along the streets, yearning to get home. She waited for the crosswalk to turn green, but it seemed to be taking forever. Impatient, she let out a frustrated sigh.

"Cecily."

The voice behind her sent a jolt through her, and she turned around, disbelief washing over her face at the sight of the person standing there.

∘₊✧─── ONE YEAR LATER. ───✧₊∘

Cecily sat around the table with everyone she knew and loved, sharing laughter and stories. She was next to Laura, enjoying their conversation, when she decided to grab something from the kitchen. As she walked back toward the table, she overheard Wade's voice, saying, "But you're holding the baby."

Cecily rushed over to Logan and Wade. "Yeah, don't mind if I just—" she said, reaching for her daughter. Lilith fussed a bit as Cecily picked her up. "I know, I know, Lilith, but Daddy's abandoned you for a dog," she teased, bouncing the baby in her arms.

Crouching down slightly, Cecily let Lilith pet the dog, laughing as the baby reached out, her small hand trying to grasp the fur.

Ever since I was a little girl, I've had the same dream replaying over and over. In this dream, I'm in an apartment, sitting at a table surrounded by people. I always hated it. It felt cruel to long for something so perfect when everything in my life had gone wrong. A vision of a life I could never have, something I would never attain. But I should've learned long ago: dreams do come true.
