Epilogue
The intense, heavy feeling weighed down on me, pushing me like a tonne of rocks. Pain shot through me like bullet. I couldn't pin-point it, it was erratic, it cascaded throughout the whole of my body.
I squeezed my eyes shut, to push the pain away. But the more I did that, the more the pain came to slap me and attack me.
I felt hot bubbles of sweat, glide from my head, down to my cheeks. I had no energy to wipe it away, my only focus was to get through the discomfort.
My breathing intensified, my chest bobbed up and down like a boat floating in the water. If I was going to get rid of this suffering, I knew I had to focus, keep calm and get through this.
"I can't." I let out in a shaky breath.
I nod my head profusely, I was nothing but a bundle of nerves, with pants and whimpers leaving my mouth.
"I can't do this." I repeat, hoping it would put an end to it all.
"Louisa, you're nearly there. Just one more push." The unfamiliar voice called from between my legs. I didn't care who's voice it was, I just wanted rid of this ache swallowing me up.
"Baby, you're almost done. You can do this. I got you." My senses are brought back, to the voice I've known to love.
I turn my head to the left, where Alexander is by my side, arms around my shoulder, and his hands tightly squeezed into mine. He was like my anchor, I held onto his words, hoping it will pull me out of this agony.
With one deep breath in, I heave forward with all my might and strength. Pushing like my life depends on it. In the process a scream ruptures from my mouth, like I was a banshee.
Suddenly, it felt like a chunk of me escaped, for a moment it was like I was floating. I'm slammed back down to reality, when I hear the beautiful cry of a baby.
"Congratulations. It's a baby girl." The midwife coos.
Working like clockwork and at the speed of light. My baby girl is brought to me, and placed on my bare chest. I was lost for words. I've never known love like this, to come at me so fast.
"You did it! I'm so proud of you." Alexander gushed.
Placing a soft peck on my forehead, he bows closer to get a look at our daughter.
Joy and happiness unfolded in me like a flower. My heart was singing at the sight of my daughter sleeping peacefully on my chest and my husband by my side admiring her.

Moments after, when we both came to terms that our perfect daughter was finally here. I was able to sit comfortably on the bed.
My eyes follow Alexander, as he slowly bobbed with his daughter in his arms. I couldn't help but etch a wide smile on my face, there was something different to seeing my husband, now a father, taken in awe of our daughter.
"What are we going to call my darling princess." Alexander sings to her, as he makes his way by my side, placing her into my arms.
"I already have a name." I shamefully admit, as I never mentioned this to Alexander.
Alexander brows furrow, and he irks his head to the side, waiting for me to mention the name.
"Adriana." I say, lifting my brows in anticipation, waiting for a response. His eyes soften, and for a moment he was taken back.
"As in after my-"
"Yes." I say not allowing him to finish. "We didn't know if we were having a boy or girl. But I always knew if we had a girl, it would be Adriana. I know how much your father meant to you;
I want his memory to live on-"
"Louisa, I love it. It's perfect. You are the best, I love you so much." Alexander gushed, with his turn to interrupt me.
"I love you too." I chuckle, seeing his spirits lifting into pure love and happiness.
"Welcome to the world, Adriana Pierce." Alexander whispered.
Bowing my head down, to look at Adriana, she slept peacefully not knowing what was happing, but the fact that she had two crazily in love parents, who would do anything and go to extreme lengths for her.
"Erm, there are five people waiting outside." The nurse says pointing towards the door, capturing us away from admiring Adriana.
I side eye Alexander letting out a chuckle. It was our crazy friends eagerly waiting to meet the little bundle of joy in my arms.
I nod to the nurse, making it okay for them to come in, but with a stern voice she says she can only let one person in at a time.
When she goes to open up the door, the five of them stumble inside, talking all at once. The nurse demanded they all wait outside, and for one person to come inside.
Sarah is the first one to enter, and her face soon melts as she sees Adriana for the first time. Her eyes gleam with tears, which enables my eyes to glisten with water.
"Oh my," she gasps, "she is beautiful! Congratulations."
"Adriana meet your Aunty Sarah," I whisper. "Do you want to hold her?"
With a beaming wide smile, she nods her head. Carefully I place Adriana in her arms, and she coos at the bundle of joy in her arms.
I relax back into the hospital bed, Alexander captures my hand into his, standing next to me. I lean my head on to his warm body. Taking all this bliss and happiness in.
I watch as our friends come in one by one, meeting Adriana. Happiness streaked through me like a comet. Everything I ever wanted in life is here, right in front of me.
A husband, who loves me endlessly to the moon and back. A beautiful daughter, who I can give the life that I never had growing up. Friends, who are there for me and will support me no matter what.
It's like I've had the best promotion in all aspects of life. I've had a promotion in my career. All I ever wanted was to work my way up. Now, I work alongside my husband, owning AP Enterprise.
I've had a promotion in life, I grew up with my real parents not wanting me and abandoning me. I grew up not knowing what it felt like to have a family. Now, I'm surrounded by family. I have people around me that I'm proud to call my family.
For me, it was The Promotion, of a lifetime.

And that's my book done and dusted... I can't believe it's finished.
I'm so proud at how far this book has gotten and it's all down to you who's reading this right now! Thank you so much for supporting this book!
Even though this is completed, I will be going back to edit chapters to make sure it flows.
Unfortunately this is the end of Louisa and Alexander's story, I think this is the best place to finish, a happy ending. At the moment I have no plans on a sequel because I feel like I don't need to add anything else.
But there possibly might be a spin-off book, about Adriana when she's all grown up.
