Chapter Thirty-Nine
*Six Months Later*
Sitting in the dimly lit room, brought back the memories. The grey walls, the carpeted floor, was all familiar. Back then, when I came to this room, I was a timid person, worrying about whether I would earn the promotion I had applied to.
But today, I was already in the room, waiting for someone to walk through that door and impress the socks off me. I flicked through the vast papers in front of me on the wooden table. One more candidate left. So far, I was unhappy with every single person that walked through that door. I didn't find that spark, that determination, that passion.
The ringing of my phone, snapped me out of my thoughts. I turned it over to check the caller, a smirk crept upon my lips.
"Yes, what's up?" I answered picking up the call.
"I miss you." Alexander sang down the phone.
I rolled my eyes at his silliness. "I was with you an hour ago."
"I know. But I want you here, I'm feeling lonely." Alexander let a small chuckle.
I turned my head upwards to the camera in the corner of the room. I stuck my tongue out, knowing Alexander was watching.
"Only one more interview and then I'm all yours," I soothingly replied.
Alexander let out a hysterical groan, as if he itching to get his hands on me.
"I'm surprised you're still itching to get your hands on me. I was all yours for two months. I'm sure you remember Australia." I blushed at the mention of our spontaneous trip, many happy memories flew back into my mind.
"I'll never get tired of you. The more I spend time with you the more I want you," Alexander replied in a low tone, making him sound sexy as ever.
"Stop it. One more interview and that's it. This is what you get for making me a partner in the business. We need to get on top of things, so an assistant is highly needed. I'll see you in a bit." Without letting Alexander respond, I quickly ended the call. Inching my head back to the camera, I blew it a kiss.
Just in time, a knock on the door averted my attention. I corrected my posture and cleared my throat.
"Come in," I called out.
In came the last person of the endless interview I had to endure. In the last couple of days, I interviewed nine people, and not one of them showed any potential to be the personal assistant of Alexander and I.
As the young girl walked through the door. I got a positive instinct. She had straight, shoulder length, strawberry blonde hair. Round almond shaped eyes, a small pointy nose and thin lips. Her cheeks were rosy red. She clutched on to some folders and she slowly made her way in.
I got up and extended my hands to greet her. "Hello, come in and take a seat."
She returned the hand shakes and set herself opposite me. Picking up her application, I scanned over it to re-jog my memory.
"So, Lily Davies, how are you feeling today?" I asked, shooting her a reassuring smile.
"I'm good thanks, just a bit nervous," She replied in a chirpy voice.
"Nothing to be nervous about. Let's get on with the interview."
Lily excitedly nodded. After retrieving my file with the interview questions, I proceeded to ask the first question.
***
"Thank you for your time Lily. You should hear from us in two days' time. Take care."
Once again, I shook Lily's hand, she turned to exit the door and I let out a satisfying sigh. Forty minutes later and I was finally. Gathering all the papers on the table, I excitedly skipped my way back to Alexander.
When I entered the office, Alexander crept up from behind, wrapping his arms around my waist and nuzzling his head into my neck. I let out a small yelp, startled at the sudden grasp of Alexander.
"Finally. I have been waiting for you," He sang, muffled into my neck. His hot breath latched onto me, I'll was never going to get over the feeling of his warm breath tantalising my skin.
"As much as I love having your hands wrapped around me, we need to go through the interviewees and pick one," I mentioned, as his hands continued to roam around my body.
In an instant, Alexander pulled me to the sofa and I landed on his lap. The papers in my hand fall to the floor, spreading across, making a spiralled mess. I playfully whacked Alexander's chest, rolling my eyes at him.
"No need, I've already made a decision about who I want to hire." Alexander mentioned as he planted small pecks on my neck.
"Really? So have I." I replied feeling relaxed as his lips nipped sections of me. I glided my hands around his hair, taking in the softness of it.
He stopped for a moment, moving his head back to get a better look at my face. "You have? Okay, let's say the name on the count of three."
He then began the countdown. "Three, two, one."
"LILY!" We both shouted.
We both gasped and snorted with laughter.
"She was the best interviewee we had. The passion and determination she had was outstanding!" I exclaimed.
"I couldn't agree more. She's the perfect assistant for me and you." Alexander chimed.
It felt good knowing that we had a potential person, ready to start their new job. Lily was the perfect person for the job. I couldn't wait to give her the good news in two days' time.
I took in Alexander's charming looks, as he gazed in to my eyes. Six months ago, I lost hope, I thought I would never confess my love to him. Seeing him in that airport awakened all my feelings I had for him.
Six months ago, we made the hasty decision to jet off to Australia, and it was the best decision we made. It was pure bliss. I was introduced to Alexander's mother and properly to his sister. I admit, it was early meeting the family, but there was no label with us yet. We were enjoying our time together that's all that mattered.
When we came back from Australia, for a short while I moved back to Alexander's place, until I found an apartment. As it has been exhilarating with him, I didn't want to rush things, taking it slow was the best option. Although when it came to Alexander, we could never take it slow. We were like hungry animals, attacking their prey, pouncing on each other.
Alexander then offered to make me a partner of the business. I was taken back by this generous offer. I needed the job and I also had many ideas for the business, so I accepted.
It's been quite crazy in these last six months, and it'll only get crazier as we look forward to the future. There no other person I rather spend my crazy life with. It's Alexander and it will always be him.
A/N
This is a short chapter compared to the others, this was originally the epilogue and story finished here, but after much thought I decided to carry on with the story. There was quite a few lose ends I wanted to tie up and I wanted to shower further into what Alexander and Louisa's relationship is like.
So I hope whoever is reading this continues reading and enjoys the second part of this story!
