Louisa's POV
Standing outside the venue, I watched the waiters and waitresses pacing up and down. The decorators were adding the final touches. All I could do was just stand there and watch time go on.
I imagined my wedding day to be filled with glitz and glam. Running around, ordering people to sort everything out. Instead, I stood outside, staring at the entrance, hoping that all this disappeared.
We chose a simple venue for the wedding, not a lot of people were invited so we thought to keep it small. The wedding hall was situated just outside the city. It was refreshing being away from the hustle and bustle of the city.
The fresh air was crisp and clean. After taking a long and slow inhale, I felt at peace, I felt like nothing could hurt me in this calm and beautiful environment; but I was wrong. I was hurting, I wanted to take it all away but didn't want to hurt anybody else in the process.
I dragged my feet, entering the venue I find myself in the entrance hall. In front of me was a grand set of stairs going towards the main area. The floors were wooden, giving it a rustic feel. The cream-coloured walls were dressed in different artistic painting. Each paintings had a brown frame around it.
I walked up the stairs to check the main area. I was taken by surprise when I finally saw it. Three chandeliers hung from the ceiling, a set of pink, white and cream flower garlands were attached to each one, hanging from chandelier to chandelier. Twenty white chairs on the right and left, separated by a walkway, adorned with petals. At the end of the walkway, was a large wall made entirely of pink and white roses. Fairy lights added to the wall, making it look exquisite. At the far left was the bar, drinks were getting prepared and placed on the side tables.
I had the urge to pick a glass and down a drink, but for everything to go smoothly, I had to stay away from the alcohol.
Lifting my phone, I peered to check if I had any messages from Alexander. More sadness piled on as there was nothing from him. I turned on my heels, heading towards the bridal suit. When I entered the room, I located my wedding dress hanging, waiting for me to place it on me.
"Oh, you're here."
I looked to see who had entered the room. Sarah came in a huff, with her dress hanging on her arm. She seemed as if she had come in running. She was flustered for some reason.
"Where were you?" I enquired, warily of how she seemed.
"Just had something to sort out," Sarah replied, like her mind was elsewhere.
Furrowing my brows, I stood there with my arms folded. "What? What did you have to sort out?"
"Nothing. Right, let's get you ready. When's Janice coming?"
I was dumbfounded at her response. Something was clearly up, but for some reason she wasn't telling me. I decided not to follow her up, any other day I would have, but today I just didn't have it in me to question her.
I looked at the time on my phone and bit the inside of my cheeks. It was only a matter of hours for my name to go from, Louisa Watts to Louisa Harris. My mind wandered to what Louisa Pierce would sound like. Shiver ran done my spine as I annunciated it, in my mind.
Even if I tried my hardest, I still couldn't get Alexander out of my mind.

The person I saw in the mirror was a stranger. I didn't recognise her, dressed in a wedding gown, hair and makeup done. Supposedly looking like a blushing and happy bride. I didn't see a bride, it was just someone in a wedding dress. Someone who was emotionally and mentally tired.
I envisioned myself to feel and look like a princess on my wedding day. This didn't even feel like my day.
I should have been happy with the end result. Janice did an amazing job like always. My strapless gown hugged my upper body, causing it to flow down from the bottom. My hair was beautifully bundled together, held with a floral headpiece; hand crafted with delicate pearls and shimmering crystals.
Sarah came into view and I looked at her in awe. She was elegant and stunning. Dressed in a dusty rose A-line gown, completed with a pleated bodice and off-shoulder straps. We both soften our eyes at each other, we held onto each other's hands. I squeezed her hand slightly tight.
"I'm just going to go to the main hall. Check if the guests have arrived. I'll check if Calum is here as well," Sarah said, comforting me with her soft voice. I nodded, not being able to express gratitude in words.
As Sarah left, I turned to Janice, who was packing her stuff away. "Thank you so much Janice. You've done an amazing job like always."
"Don't mention it. I'm always happy to do your hair and makeup." She beamed, giving me a soft smile, "Um, if you don't mind can I say something?"
The mood shifted within the room. I was intrigued with what she had to say, I moved my head, hinting for her to carry on.
"When you called me, I was confused to why Alexander didn't call me. The two times I did your hair and makeup Alexander contacted me. For some reason I thought I was going to get you ready for your wedding with Alexander."
My mouth gaped open at the words tumbling out of Janice's mouth. "Why would you assume that I was getting married to Alexander?"
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you. It's just every time I saw you and Alexander, I saw the connection. The way you looked at each other, it was pure love and admiration."
I blushed at what Janice stated. My lips slowly curled upwards. The butterflies reminded me that they were still in my stomach. That soon drained from me, I came to terms with the worry that the connection with Alexander will be lost, when I get married to Calum.
"Well, that's sweet of you to think that, but there was nothing going on between Alexander and I." The words mumbled out of me. Saying something like that felt like a bee had stung my heart. The lie was evident.
"Anyway, enjoy you wedding-"
"Wait," I quickly exclaimed, "Stay. I would love for you to stay for the rest of the day. Please?"
She pondered on my offer for a while and then flashed a wide smile. "I would love to stay."
A joyous smile escaped my mouth. She shot me a similar smile and made her way to the main hall. Just as Janice left, Sarah returned.
"Looks like everything is ready. The guests have arrived. Calum is here as well."
My heart sank to the pit of my stomach. Panic rushed through every aspect of my body. All I could do was let a strained smile show on my face. The strange thing was that Sarah looked how I was feeling. Her hands were twitching, she kept looking at the time as if she was expecting something.
Deep down I had hoped Alexander had come already, but he wasn't here and that crushed me like stones were pelting my body.
"Let's get this show on the road then," I sighed.
Standing behind the door, I took a deep breath in and slowly exhaled out. I tried to gather my thoughts in order to have a clear mind. I looked back at Sarah who was anxiously biting down on her lip. I beckoned for her to come, so she could lead the way.
She milled slowly around the room; it was as if she was stalling. I was losing my patience; she was playing some sort of game.
"Sarah. Come on!" I snapped.
She whispered something under her breath, but I wasn't able to understand what she said. She hesitantly picked her flowers up, walking up to me, she stood in front of me. I waited for her to open the door, but she stood there frozen.
"What's going on?" I demanded.
She looked at me, muttering a few words, she wasn't able to form a sentence. All of a sudden, she jumped at the sound of her phone chiming. She leaped at the opportunity to check it. I let out a strained sigh, slouching my shoulders
A gasp escaped her mouth and her eyes widened. She furiously tapped away on her phone. She finally looked up, her face beaming like a Cheshire Cat.
"He's here," she exclaimed.
My brain couldn't comprehend what she meant. "Who? What are you talking about?"
She held on to my shoulders and excitedly shook me. "Alexander. He's here. He's waiting for you at the entrance."
It felt like the room was flushed with sunlight. Everything seemed bright in my eyes. A booming feeling ran through me, as if my soul was awakened by happy news.
"Are you serious?" I gushed, feeling giddy.
"Yes. He's waiting for you."
The bouquet of flowers dropped from my hands, delicately landing on the floor. I picked my dress up from the floor, like I was ready to run a marathon.
"I don't know what's going to happen, but stall for me," I said before opening the door.
"Yes, I will. Just go," Sarah babbled, practically pushing me out of the door.
Luckily, there was a side hallway that led to the main entrance. I was able to get to Alexander without anyone noticing me. My feet pittered and pattered along the floor, hurriedly making its way to Alexander.
The butterflies woke up from their slumber. My heart was leaping for joy, and for a moment it was peaceful forgetting that I was supposed to marry Calum.
When I arrived at the entrance, I saw him. A surge of happiness shot through me like lightening. The heavy feeling of sadness lifted away from me, it felt like I was floating my way to Alexander.
When his eyes landed on me, I saw the change. Happiness blossomed within him; his lips stretched into a wide smile. We were both engulfed with joy.
This was now or never. Everything had to be said right here and right now.
