Chapter Seven

I woke up on Sunday morning, on my own, yet again. My gut was telling me Calum was gone, I could sense his absence. Even though it was just the two of us, there was a deep silence in our apartment, there was a sense of loneliness.

Calum's words were constantly floating in my head. We'd been together for so long, and not once did I have doubts about him. One simple question changed my perspective. There was supposed to be a level of trust between us, but he broke that.

It was clear to me that I didn't want to stay home alone so I decided to message Sarah.

L: Hey, what are your plans for today? X

Within two minutes Sarah texted back.

S: Hey, nothing really, lazy Sunday for me.

L: Breakfast at mine?

S: Say no more! I'm on my way!

L: Perfect! See you soon!!

Feeling ecstatic, I got out of bed, making my way to the bathroom to freshen up. As I closed my eyes, to wash my face, I got a flashback of mystery guy back in the club. I gasped and shot my eyes open, face wash entered my eyes and I experienced an excruciating sting in my eyes.

"Shit." I mumbled to myself.

Quickly rinsing the face wash, making sure I soothed my eye from it, I slowly opened them up again. I looked in the mirror and noticed my eyes were bloodshot red. Why did the mystery guy come in my head again? Why do I keep thinking about him? I needed to get him out my of my head, but for some odd reason I just couldn't.

The little time I had with him, sparked something in me, something that I couldn't wrap my head around. A guy I barely knew, had an ominous effect on me.

I changed into some comfy black joggers and a grey cropped hooded top. I made my way to the kitchen to get breakfast started. I decided to make poached eggs on toast. After placing the eggs on the water, a knock at the door ripped through.

I skipped in happiness, knowing it was Sarah. I opened the door to see her cheerful face.

"Hey." She chirped, making her way inside.

"Hey, I'm so glad you're here." I exclaimed, welcoming her inside with a hug.

"Why?" She asked, chuckling at my remark.

"One word, Calum." I said, rolling my eyes.

Sarah copied, rolling her own eyes, "Right, let's make breakfast and you can tell me all about it."

We both went on to make our breakfast. We plated it all up and sat on the barstools, in the kitchen.

"So, tell me now, what is the deal with Calum," Sarah asked while stuffing her mouth with toast and poached and egg.

"So, I questioned him, about where he goes and why he's always out." I started.

Sarah nodded in anticipation, for me to carry on, while placing more food in her mouth.

"When I asked him, he completely overreacted. He accused me of not trusting him, he said that I was doubting him. That didn't even cross my mind at first. I have always trusted him. But the way he reacted is making me second guess him."

I could see Sarah taking it all in. Waiting for her response, I sipped my tea whilst looking at her.

"Hmm." Sarah hummed while looking like she was in some deep intense thought. "That is strange, him always going out. It's also strange on how he reacted. I mean, if he didn't have anything to hide, he would have not had a problem telling you where he goes."

I took in Sarah's words. I knew she was right. Now the doubt inside me is building up.

"I don't know what to do." I sighed in disbelief, slumping my shoulders down.

"Louisa, I've said it many times, you two are not going down a right path right now. You must admit your relationship has changed. I think you should seriously consider taking a break from each other." Sarah said those dreaded words again, making me wince at her suggestion.

"You know I can't. We maybe having problems at the moment, but that can be fixed. I can't take a break from him." I quickly responded, shrugging my shoulders.

"Why? Why can't you take break? Couples break up all the time, even after like ten years." Sarah pointed out.

There was some element of truth to her words. I understood that if we were struggling, a break was ideal. A small voice in my head, kept reminding me, that I loved Calum and I could fix whatever rough patch we were going through.

A shaky breath escaped my mouth. "I love him. I love him a lot and I can't see myself to break up."

"What if he one day decides to break up with you?" Sarah raised her brows at me, narrowing her eyes, making me feel like I am part of an interrogation.

This never crossed my mind, it was something I didn't want to think about. But once again, Sarah tried to knock some sense into me.

"I don't know. If that days comes then I'll deal with it. But right now, I'm not breaking up with him. We going through a rough patch but we can work around it."

Sarah didn't reply, she gave me a reassuring smile. We proceeded to finish our breakfast, wash the dishes and clear everything away.

After breakfast, we felt so lazy, we lounged around, watching tv and gossiping like normal. At this point Calum was still out. I got my phone to send him a text, to see where he was. Whilst still on my phone, I browsed around. I went into my camera roll and was shocked to see my latest pictures. From laying down on the couch, I rapidly got up to fix my vision, to see if what I was seeing was not my eyes deceiving me.

I was staring at my phone, lost for words. I was looking at pictures taken from the club. There was the initial thought that they were taken drunk. There were selfies of me and the mystery guy. An array of pictures, from kissing selfies to picture of his head buried on my neck.

How could I possibly have taken these. Maybe it was him? So many concerns and questions were circling around my head.

"What's happened to you?" Sarah asked while still laying down on the couch, she prodded me with her toe a couple of times.

I didn't say anything, except turn the phone around to show. Sarah's eyes opened up so wide that they almost popped out her head. She grabbed my phone to have a closer look at the pictures.

"No, way! Louisa! You little minx! These pictures!" She excitedly shrieked.

Sarah was lost for word, so was I.

"How did I even take these pictures?" I exclaimed, hoping by some miracle Sarah would give me a reassuring reply.

"Wait." Sarah gasped, "What if mystery guy took the pictures?"

"Wha-" I was about to argue her point but it made me think. She might have been right.

"I've sussed it." Sarah beamed at me, "He definitely took the pictures. You were so off your head to take pictures. What if he took them so you remember him?"

I couldn't fathom what I was witnessed on my phone. What if he did take the pictures? If it was him how did he find my phone?

"I'm deleting them." I huffed, grabbing my phone back.

"No! Don't!" Sarah screamed, pulling on my arm.

"What? Why? I can't keep these."

"Why not? Keep it as a lovely memory," Sarah said,  wriggling her brows.

I gave her a disapproving look. Without even replying to her, the pictures were gone.

"Done." I said as Sarah gave me a playful push with her feet.

The timing of deleting the pictures could have not been better, as Calum finally came back. I tuned around to see him entering the apartment.

"Welcome back." I said sarcastically, "Do I bother asking where you were."

"Don't start." He called out with attitude, without even acknowledging Sarah was there, he entered the bedroom slamming the door shut. I huffed in annoyance at him.

With Sarah spending most of the day with me, I noticed the darkness outside. It must have been around ten, late at night, and it suddenly dawned on me that tomorrow was the day. .

"Louisa, babe!" Sarah said while stretching, "It is getting late, and you missy are starting a new job tomorrow, you need to go sleep!"

"You know what, I totally forgot about it. My mind has been everywhere since Friday." I responded, while letting out a elongated yawn.

"Your mind and your mouth." Sarah sneakily whispered.

I gasped at Sarah's remark and pinched her. She yelped at my pinch, causing her to rub her arm as if I seriously wounded her.

"Shut it. Calum will hear you." I silently snap, gritting my teeth.

"Oh relax. I practically whispered it. " Sarah laughed, making me laugh as well. "Anyway, I best get going. I don't know if I'll see you tomorrow, if I don't, good luck and don't worry about it!"

"Thank you Sarah, I'm going to miss sitting next to you," I replied, while grabbing her for a hug.

I got ready for bed, soon after Sarah left. Upon entering the bedroom, I saw Calum fast asleep. I shook my head in disbelief. After brushing my teeth and washing my face, I got  into bed and on to my phone.

I ended up pondering in my camera roll again. Realising that my phone had a deleted section, I go to it and look at the pictures. My head was all over the place. I knew deep down my heart was
with Calum, I loved him so much.

Why did I do that? Why did I kiss the mystery guy? Why did I like kissing him? Why do I keep thinking about him? Endless questions were running in my mind, I was consumed by a lot of thoughts and questions.

Looking back at the pictures, a sparkling sensation was festering around my body. I closes my eyes for a brief second, only to remember the touch of the mystery guy. Forcing my eyes open, I tried to shake the thoughts away, but it was impossible.

Without thinking, I moved the deleted pictures back into my camera roll. It was like my brain was not computing. There was a strange force around me, enabling my fingers to move the pictures back. For some reason I wanted them there.

The day was nearly upon me till I was officially getting ready to start my new job. It was a first for many factors; including what Alexander Pierce looked like.

What could this job possibly bring...

A/N

We have steamy pictures! Do you think mystery guy took them?

And was Louisa right in retrieving them back into her camera roll.
