A few days had gone by and it felt like a whirl wind of rush, many factors were occurring that I lost track of the days.

In the space of three days, Alexander and I managed to move my belongings, and sell my apartment. Rebecca was bombarding me with copious emails, asking whether I had made my mind about giving evidence at Charles' trial. On top of that I barely saw or spoke to Sarah. Ever since coming back from Australia, it felt like Sarah had been distant from me.

Often, I would find myself spacing out in meetings, my mind would wonder about various aspects. As my eyes focused far into the distance, it felt like my body was levitating out of the room and into a space of nothingness. It felt like I was in a space where all I could do was float around. No sound travelled to me; I wasn't able to hear the words coming out of the people around me. The only way I was able to be snapped back in the room, was from the touch of Alexander.

It was now Thursday, meaning that tomorrow was the day I had to give my final decision to Rebecca. Sitting alone in the office, my legs shook nervously, my feet twitched while my fingers tapped continuously on the desk.

A knock at the door brought me to a halt.

"Come in." I called out in an instant. Shaking my head, I livened myself up a bit before the door was opened.

Lily peered her head before entering the office.

"Hi Louisa, sorry to disturb." She said in her usual soft tone.

"It's okay, what's up?" I responded, shooting her a welcoming smile.

"Alexander left this for you." Lily said as she stretched her arm out giving me a folded piece of paper.

I took it from her and before I could get the chance to say something, she quickly turned around and exited the office. I then came to the realisation that I had been so lost in thought; I didn't notice Alexander leaving.

Opening up the folded piece of paper, I noticed it was a written note from Alexander.

There's a dress at home with your name on. Go home try it on, meet me at the Italian Rooftop Restaurant. I'll be waiting for you.

I chuckled to myself whilst reading the note. Often there would be uncertainty revolving around Alexander when it came to his love for me. It wasn't in a bad way; it was the fact that I didn't know what to expect next. It was like every day he would come up with new ways of making me happy.

A surge of love and happiness gushed through me, as my heart fluttered thinking about Alexander waiting for me. Without delaying another second, I hoped out of my office chair, picking up my handbag and making my way towards the exit.

I saw Lily typing away at her computer.

"Lily are you okay to sort things and lock the office." I asked before leaving.

"Of course," she chirped, she shoot me a wink as if she knew what Alexander had planned.

As I waved goodbye, I trodded merrily towards the exit, on my way to see what dress Alexander had picked out for me.

When I arrived at the mansion, I hopped out the car and went straight towards the bedroom. When I got there, I saw the dress on the bed.

I went to take a closer look. A cream-coloured mini dress, satin lining held the dress together, on top was fine mesh with floral and leaf embroidery. The neckline of the dress was round, it was connected to satin pieces to tie at the back, creating an elegant bow. The dress was complete with long mesh sleeves, cinched at the wrists, allowing it to flow. When I picked the dress up to admire it, it felt soft and sheer.

I was taken back and lost for thoughts, this dress was perfect and beautiful to wear for a date at the restaurant. On the floor, close to the bed I notice a pair of heels. Picking them up to get a better inspection. It was a pair of open square toe, height pointed heels. It had a sling back strap, with diamanté-embellished straps across the front.

Without pondering too much, I quickly freshened myself in the shower and got ready ready to see Alexander.

Finally ready, I took one quick glance in the mirror before making my way downstairs, where the driver was waiting for me.

I opted to style my caramel blonde hair in loose curls. I stayed with the decision to keep my makeup minimal and went with a nude look.

As I walked down the main room towards the door to leave, Maggie peered through from what I could see in the corner of my eye. I looked over towards my left and sent her a smile and waved her goodbye. The strange thing was, that she had the same sinister look Lily had, when she gave me the note from Alexander.

Was everyone in on some kind of secret and I was the only one left out?

Delicately shrugging my shoulders, I pushed my confusion to the back of my head. The only thing I was looking forward to, was seeing Alexander.

The car journey to the Italian Rooftop Restaurant felt like it was elongated, it felt like I was never going to reach there. Much to my surprise the driver came to a quick halt, jumped from his seat and opened the door for me.

The thought of food and Alexander entered my mind whilst I entered the restaurant, I suddenly felt like I was going to salivate. My stomach churned as it cried out for food.

Listening to my stomach, I make my way to the top. When I arrived, emptiness welcomed me. There was not a soul in the restaurant, yet the place was beautifully decorated as if it was expecting a surge of people to enter. It then connected in my brain that Alexander somehow booked the whole restaurant just for us.

Far across the room, close to the balcony I saw Alexander, sitting waiting for me. Getting closer, he became clearer within my vision. Seeing him in a pristine black suit, that almost had a velvet sheen to it. Dapper white shirt, paired with black trousers, hugged his body effortlessly. When he turned and noticed me walking up to him, his mouth dropped as if he was amazed at what he witnessing.

Our eyes connected as if two lost souls were searching for each other. It was like a magnet pulling our gazes together. When I saw the ever so dreamy smile appear on his face, I couldn't help but blush and feel shy. A warm glow made its way to the surface of my skin. Heating me up as if fire was surrounding me.

"You look absolutely divine." Alexander gushed as he embraced me in a hug. I captured the sweet and spicy sent of his cologne, and all of a sudden, I wasn't hungry for food, I was hungry for something else.

"You look handsome as ever," I shyly replied coming out of the hug, placing a kiss on his cheek.

He returned the favour, cupping my face, sending an impulse through a kiss on my lips. I closed my eyes to feel the effect of his supple lips, hoping it forever lingered.

I'm forced to open my eyes when Alexander took me to my seat, pulling the chair for me. He sat himself opposite me and for a moment we got lost in thought. Every day he amazed me and it felt like I was falling deeper in love with him.

As the beautiful night went on, we continued to enjoy each other's company, whilst constantly getting lost in each other's eyes. When his brown orbs stared right into my soul, it felt like I had been awakened from a slumber.

"So, I wanted to give you something." Alexander's mellow tone is captured into my ears.

Instead of responding I waited for him to carry on. He took out a black velvet jewellery bag, and what came out I was amazed. Out came a diamanté necklace with the instals 'A' and 'L'.

A slow gasp was a result of seeing the divine necklace. The way it sparked under the lights, the sheen it had, I was astonished at how crystal clear the necklace was.

"Remember our very first night together?" Alexander asked as he got up from his seat and made his way over to me.

Hesitantly I nodded, remembering our very first night of passion, with it resulting in me being engaged the very next day. I squirmed on the inside casting my mind back.

Now with Alexander behind me, slowly, he placed the necklace around me, I shuddered at the sudden cold sharpness I felt from the necklace; soon replaced by warmth from his alluring touch.

"I brought this for you then. I wanted to take you out and give it to you, but I'm glad I never got to give it you. This is the perfect time for this." Alexander whispered behind me as he clasped the necklace on.

I looked down at the necklace effortlessly sitting on me, I was taken back by the beauty of it, and the symbol it portrayed, with our initials together. Abruptly I got up from my seat to face Alexander, in order to be within his hold.

"I love it so much. It's beautiful." I gushed, cupping his face.

Just as I was about to lean in for a kiss, he took my hand and brought me to the centre of the restaurant. Standing face to face, unknowingly I bit down on my lip from the radiance beaming of him, the pure love I had for him was attacking me left, right and centre. But this was something that I was more than happy to be hit with.

Alexander took a few steps back.

"We've been going from strength to strength in these past nine months. The feeling I get when I'm with you, I just can't put into words. I can envision my whole life with you, and there no one else I want to be with."

Alexander's words travelled towards me as if they are dancing to my ears. Happiness and love flooded within me, I wanted to close the gap between us, but the next thing he did caught me off guard.

He reached into his pocket, taking out a black velvet box. As he opens up the box, he got down on one knee.

"Baby, I know we've only been together for nine months, and I know I haven't even asked you to be my girlfriend. But with you I want more. I have never been so sure in my life. I had this whole plan on sending you to special places, but that would have taken a long time, and I need to ask you now. Louisa Watts, would you make me the happiest man alive and be my wife? Marry me?"

A small gasp escaped from me. The formation of water becomes evident within my eyes. My breathing became slightly shaky, alongside with my fingers trembling. As my eyes widened at pure shock. I couldn't comprehend what I was witnessing.
